QUOTE (adapted from NarniaWeb)

• Be respectful of each other, famous people, and companies
• The moderators have the right to decide what’s allowed on the forum
• All words and pictures should be family-friendly
• Keep avatars and signatures within posted size limits
• Don’t post twice in a row in the same thread ("Double-posting") or use an annoying writing style (like cHatSpeEk). Use good spelling and grammar.
• Your username, words, and pictures should not express a romantic interest in the characters or cast members ("I want to marry Peter/William!" is not allowed)
• Posts should add good thoughts to the conversation. Don’t just say "I agree."
• Stay on topic for the thread you’re in, including links you post.
• Don’t talk about politics.

Respect

• Speak respectfully of others site members, public figures, and corporations. You should be fair in your statements about people and companies. "Extreme" statements like these are not welcome here:

Disney is greedy, evil, and/or always makes lousy movies.
The cast is ugly.
The sky is falling because someone in the movie production said something I don't like.
The sky is falling because anyone is daring to make a movie at all.

• Also, remember that the cast members are real people with real feelings. Any post that treats them like a "thing" instead of a person, or that ignores their feelings, is not allowed. This includes statements like:

Kiss me, Peter.
I want to marry Peter.
William is so hot.
Skandar has changed my life.

• Do not post statements or images that express romantic interest in any character or castmember.  Messages like that can be "creepy," and they are not in the spirit of the books. "Extreme fandom" posts spoil the forum for many people.

Sometimes people have such strong feelings about a particular topic that we find it can’t be discussed without ugly fights breaking out. If a moderator tells you that a topic you’ve brought up is not allowed for this reason, please don’t argue. Such decisions are never made lightly and are not open to debate. Trust us, we know.

General Policies

The moderators have the right to do what they think is best for the forum. Their job is to keep the spirit of the rules, not just the letter. Even if you think you’ve found a "loophole," be aware that the mods can still stop you if you’re causing a problem. You may think they’re being "unfair," but they’re just doing their job.

Images or words that are lewd, sexual, or inappropriate may be removed or edited by the moderators. Don’t post photographs with people in revealing clothes, including bathing suits. In extreme cases, users who post such things may be blocked from the forum altogether.

Image Guidelines

Avatars file sizes may not exceed 100k (defined here for simplicity's sake as 100,000 bytes).  Avatars cannot be more than 100x100 pixels.

Avatars which spoof the appearance of the moderator banners are subject to removal.

A signature may not contain more than one image.

Etiquette

• Double-posting is not allowed. If you would like to add something to the post you just made, please use the "edit" button to make changes.

• Do not flame other users, and do avoid hateful or inflammatory language.  Examples of inflammatory language include "Your ideas are stupid/immature", or "My ideas are better than yours." See "Respect" above.

• Swearing and cursing are not allowed. Your post will be edited or deleted, and you will get a warning from the moderators.

• Your posts should have "substance." This means that they should contain your own ideas and challenge other people to think. Please do not post messages that just say "I agree," or, "You said exactly what I would say."  These clutter up a thread and can make a person in a discussion feel outnumbered and intimidated.

• Please type your posts in full sentences and avoid netspeak or chat-style writing. Do not type your posts in ALL CAPS. Use good spelling and grammar.

• When quoting other members, only quote the most important sentence or two of their post. Don't include the whole post over again as this makes for long page loads.

• No plugs for external sites that are not directly related to an existing topic already being discussed.  (If you like, you may place a link to your site in your signature.)  The only exception to this rule is when you are starting a new topic as a resource or "extra-curricular" activity for other members. Such topics and links are subject to the moderators' approval.

Discussion Topics

• All of the threads on the forum have been arranged by topic. Please keep discussions of a similar topic in the area that they belong.

• This forum is primarily to talk about Bible-related topics. You may discuss current events and other topics in the Community forums, but moderators will be closing threads that rabbit-trail off to other subjects.

• Please do not discuss political topics unless they are directly related to Lewis's writings.

• You can help the moderators. If you see a post which you think may be inappropriate or inconsistent with the tone of the Country of Aslan community, click on the  button and the moderators will check it out.

New Users: Due to a small minority of users who are more interested in being a nuisance than in participating in real discussions, messages from new users require moderator approval.  We apologize for the inconvenience.  Don't feel bad if a message is rejected; most of the time this really isn't a big deal, and you'll receive an explanation.

If you have any problems or concerns please feel free to contact any of our helpful and friendly team and we will try to resolve them as soon as possible.  To see who is moderating what area, click here and look underneath each forum to see the list of moderators.

The staff of Country of Aslan would like to thank the NarniaWeb admin group for allowing us to use their rules.
