I was wondering what was the main reason for the fall of the western roman empire?

The bad emperor, the recruitment of barbarians, tax rates going high up, revolts breaking out, soldiers on strike for more money, welcoming the Vandals, and a lot more reasons.

Revolts were the major reason. Although that definitely stemmed from the emperor. Lots of internal things too.

besides from the revolt that sounds like the US's current situation but we are smarter and better than the old romans so we can make it through this snag in the road

The Deromanization of Rome, ie. barbarians made up the majority of the army because the romans were too lazy to fight there own battles. Not to mention the fact that Joint Rulership almost never works, Taxes and the incident about letting the fleeing barbarians into Roman Lands.

The emperor even refused to confiscate their weapons. Rome was attacked from the east, west, north, and the very center of the Roman capital.
