Introducing Diego Ortega < --- Click for detailed bio. Pushing thirty and finally deciding that it's time to sort his life out. He grew up in New York on the wrong side of town and pretty much got up to no good, handling drugs for a third party organisation before joining the gang officially and getting even deeper into trouble with them. He still has a lot of that pride from those days and can come off as a rather intimidating looking character at first glance but he just wants to get himself sorted; his heart is in the right place. After 'getting away' from the hood, he moved to Bishop City East Side (kinda back into the hood, isn't it - but that's all he could really afford at the time) to start out fresh. He does it mainly for his two-year-old daughter who he simply adores but unfortunately, his ex-girlfriend won't allow him anywhere near her.
Friends: Currently, I suspect he wouldn't know anyone in Bishop City unless they too were raised in The Bronx. So I suspect integrating him will be harder. I'm hoping that once the admins confirm, he'll be working as a bartender in the Juvente Club (SE) so that'd be a good place to find him. If there was a Bishop City gym, he'd probably be there too as he does enjoy working out, however, I suspect you'd also, find him jogging in The Park (SE). Enemies: I do actually expect these to crop up. You can take the man out of the hood but you can't take the hood out of the man. Would be interesting if his past came back to haunt him, but that's another thread entirely. He can be a bit tempermental so on a bad day, I suspect barging passed him would be a great way to tick him off. He can be easily wound up and is known to tell it like it is. Romance: Diego's a comfortable flirt. He's not a compulsive flirt, but when the moment takes him, he isn't afraid to engage a beautiful woman. Sexual relationships would moreso work (what man doesn't enjoy sex?), but any deeper, more intimate relationships formed with Diego would probably take a little longer as he's not the most trusting of people. He's also, got the stuff happening with his ex and his daughter in the way as well. |

So, let me preface this by saying that I have exams coming up and should be studying rather than plotting, but... I never was a particularly good student. But yeah, I can't get into any new threads until mid-December, but BE READY! Bwahahaha.
First of all, I have Cash Givens, whom it's likely that Diego has run into once or twice. He's a native new yorker, but "ran away" from home to escape his abusive father. I say "ran away" because he was actually way past the age of majority at the time, but he basically just walked out one day and left everything behind. Which he actually feels pretty guilty about, because 'everything' includes his two younger sisters, both of whom he swore he would protect. They have since "done a Cash" though, and are currently living in Bishop City. He also has ties to the criminal world; not so much in New York, but when he was on his own for the first time, he pushed a lot of his boundaries in this respect and isn't exactly a hardcore criminal, but he's not opposed to a bit of illegal business just to make ends meet. Which leads us to the third way these two could have met: His regular way of making ends meet is to work for a private security firm that is based on East Side, and he is sometimes called in to temp for various bouncers and security personnel at clubs, among them the Juvente. Now, Cash isn't a particularly sociable person and he doesn't go out of his way to befriend anyone, or even talk to them in the first place, so I imagine they would have a rather business relationship if they have met. Second I have Lanny Darling, whose parents are new yorkers. He is born and raised in Texas himself, but both sets of grandparents still live in New York, so he spent a lot of summers there growing up. He's an extremely outgoing type of guy and never takes anything too seriously. He has a joke for every situation, be it appropriate or inappropriate, and he acts like he's fifteen most of the time, though he's actually over thirty. He's the kind of guy you either love or hate, really, because he has no off button and is really just non stop energy all the time. Third, there's Allie Striker, who is probably a bad choice to plot with if Diego is trying to get out of the crime life; she is the leader of the Kestrels, the second largest gang in the city, and as such, not a very good example for him. She doesn't really scream gang leader at first though. Sure, her clothes are hardly elegant and she has a foul mouth, but she's a very lively person that seems to be all about fun and games until you actually catch her in a situation that requires her to be... well, not fun and games. She is the kind of person that does what needs to be done to protect herself and those close to her. Fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh (I have too many characters...), there's Linnea McCoy, Alex Atwood, Pax Whitby and Mika Fierro, but I'm a bit brain dead at the moment and can't really think of a way that they would have met Diego. I'm always happy to get suggestions though, so if you have any, just let me know! |

Okay so, just to reiturate - any role-playing and such is most likely to take place at Christmas so for now we're just plotting?
Cash seems promising. Maybe a bar brawl could break out or something; things get a bit heated and Diego intervenes or something. (I'm guessing that Cash can pretty much take care of himself however, so feel free to disregard that idea. ^^;; ) Could get the pair talking at least and then gradually drawing ties to their New York backgrounds. Either way, it being "business" sounds quite accurate either way as in regards to the Juvente Club, all 'colleagues' there are purely business relationships anyway and nothing more. Would Lanny have spent time in the Bronx though? I'd have to read that profile to get a feel for it because if Lanny. If he's a 'good guy' potentially Diego could have 'jacked' him at some point xD Allie is quite dangerous indeed, but just because Diego has intentions to go straight, I didn't expect it would go without a hitch. As with your others, I'll have a read through the profiles and see if I can think up a few things myself. Edit: After reading a couple profiles, I think based on his personality, Lanny would probably find it easy to get on the wrong side of Diego. Diego is easily wound up and Lanny's a joker, am I correct? I wonder if Diego would be able to interpret when and when not to take him seriously. Moving on, Allie and Diego stand a chance of getting on really well or not at all. Personality wise, they share similarities - both tempermental...etc, but also, a few discrepencies. I sense a potentially like/hate relationship here. Will read the others in the morning... |
