I M A G I N E D . I D E N T I T Y

...EVERY STORY HAS A START...

FULL NAME: nakia anya goncharov.
NICKNAMES: not really. there's not much you can get from nakia. feel free to give her one.
AGE: twenty-three.
DATE OF BIRTH: june 5th, 1988.
OCCUPATION: brigadier for the russian syndicate.
LOCATION: east side.

...JUST A MAP OF THE WORLD...

EYES: her eyes are a chocolate brown. while her eyes are rather normal sized, she has large eyelids, and the outside tip of her eyes droop downward.
HAIR: naturally, she has very dark and straight brown hair, but she adds light brown highlights and styles her long locks into loose and messy curls or waves.
HEIGHT: 5'5".
BUILD: she's considerably muscular for a girl with an extremely athletic build.
ANYTHING ELSE: being a goncharov pretty much guarantees you'll get yourself some scars (except for the princess of the family, raina), and nakia has her fair share. the most noticeable is a deep slice about four inches long on her side, but it has faded to a light pink color with time. she's constantly getting her body bruised with her rough lifestyle, so she's lost count how many scars she has.
PB: eliza dushku.

...WITH THE POWER TO BE...

GENERAL PERSONALITY:
nakia goncharov is one tough bitch, and i'm not just saying that. the moment you try to pull the wool over her eyes, you've earned a spot on her shit list. she has a diabolical way of sabotaging people. but in all honesty, most people aren't worth her time. she's not friendly and she won't be your friend. although, she might let you think she is, if you have something that she could use to her or the russian syndicate's benefit. she's never let anybody get inside her head or heart in her life, not even her own family. even if she cares deeply for her family, she's come to terms with the fact that she could very well lose them in the blink of an eye because of the family business. strangely, she's okay with that.

at least, she's convinced herself she is. her coping mechanism is to never show weakness, and never love anybody. she's become so detached from her emotions that a decapitated child on the side of the road wouldn't even tug on her heartstrings. it's not to say they aren't there somewhere; she just can't feel them anymore. she absolutely loathes it when other people show their emotions, or do anything other than something brave, strong and honorable. nakia views those people as weak and pathetic wastes of space. she will always express her outright anger when it comes to other people showing weakness, especially when it's somebody she cares about, like her little sister. for the longest time, she's been trying to get raina to toughen up, only to be frowned at by her brothers for doing so. a lot of the time, she'll be cruel and heartless to raina to try and teach her to stop being a princess. it's sad, really, that she doesn't know how to love people without hurting them.

there's a lot of pressure put on her shoulders being the only woman in the family worthy of being involved in the russian syndicate. she's constantly having to prove herself to her brothers and everyone else. she has a lot of respect for her brothers and strives to be like them - in fact, better than them. she always felt like she had to work twice as hard to gain their respect, as well as her parents'. all she ever wanted to do was make them proud of her. ever since she was young, she had a furious competitive streak. nothing will stand in her way of victory; she'd throw her best friend (if she had one) under the bus if it meant winning.

nakia lacks a full spectrum of emotions, but the two she isn't void of and openly shows is happiness and anger. contrary to popular belief, she can be shockingly passionate when it comes to something or someone that matters to her. she has very strong opinions, and will cut anyone down who says she's wrong. but most don't dare to question her. she's quick on her feet and won't hesitate to put you in your place.

LIKES:
    - guns, specifically her .357 magnum revolver.
    - alcohol. her poison of choice is jack daniels.
    - her family, for the most part. especially pyotr.
    - kickboxing.
    - working out.
    - wrestling.
    - competition.
    - fucking snake.
    - the power she has as the brigadier.
    - leather jackets.
    - the art of manipulation.
    - dogs.
    - heavy metal music.
    - family guy, south park, and true blood.
    - her russian heritage.
    - speaking 4 different languages: russian, english, korean, and italian.

DISLIKES:
    - cigarettes, because she's addicted and they burn a hole in her wallet.
    - anyone showing signs of weakness, especially women. ("you fought for equality, so start acting like a man if you want to be treated like one.")
    - how her brothers kiss the very ground raina walks on.
    - wearing clothes around her home.
    - the choi syndicate.
    - being restrained.
    - the fact that she is secretly a little jealous of raina.
    - that her father went into hiding like a coward.
    - sexism, but she also hates raging man-hating feminists.
    - dualism. nothing is black and white.
    - pickles, mustard, and peanuts.
    - most women. she can't stand them and their pettiness.

STRENGTHS/TALENTS:
    - she's very skilled with her guns.
    - kickboxing.
    - she's very light on her feet and stealthy.
    - she's quick-witted.
    - she's very strong and athletic.
    - she's very good at manipulation when the situation calls for it.
    - she speaks russian, english, korean, and italian fluently.
WEAKNESSES/BAD-ATS:
    - her temper and impulsiveness sometimes gets the better of her.
    - she has a hard time keeping her opinions to herself.
    - she doesn't know how to love anyone without hurting them.
    - adrenaline.
    - men who ride motorcycles and wear leather jackets.
    - she wasn't ever any good at school, mostly because she didn't care enough to pay attention.
    - she has a hard time giving a damn.
    - any sign of disapproval from her brothers, especially pyotr, could cause her to crumble.
...BORN IN BLACK AND WHITE...

PARENTS: leonid and madena goncharov.
SIBLINGS: pyotr goncharov, vassilij goncharov, and raina goncharov.
OTHER SIGNIFICANT FAMILY: none.
PLACE OF BIRTH: bishop city.
HISTORY:
nakia was the third child after vassilij, who was after pyotr. in addition to being the third and the youngest for a while, she was the first girl, but there was never any glory in that title for her. from the time she was a little girl, she could remember pyotr pitting her and vassilij against each other, forcing them to fight like dogs to prove their strength. with the way she was treated, she might as well have never been born a girl at all. she was always included as one of the boys. there were no gender roles and no lines in between. she didn't know that there were any differences between them at all, except for the fact that she had long hair and they didn't.

it wasn't until raina was born that she realized how different girls were supposed to be from boys. the question of "why can't that be me?" haunted her for years. "why is she so special?" the good feeling of acceptance from her brothers was clouded with the jealousy she felt for her little sister. but even at four years old, she knew that she could never let them know she was jealous. so nakia stood by and watched as her mother cooed over the newborn, dressing her in frilly pink dresses and sunhats, wondering why she was standing there wearing boy clothes. then she would return to her brothers and pick a fight with vassilij to prove to them and herself that she wasn't at all envious of raina... even though she was.

she would watch in disgust as the entire goncharov family, except for her, gushed over the little princess. then, when nobody else was around, nakia would say awful things to her little sister to try and make her stop being such a spoiled brat. but somehow, vassilij had a sixth sense about those things, and would always swoop in to save raina and get in a scrap with nakia.

as she grew older, the hatred boiled down to a low simmer. she soon began to realize that it was just the way things were. pyotr was the perfect one, vassilij was the athletic one, nakia was the angry one, and raina was the fucking princess. if she couldn't be like raina, then she was going to make damn sure that she was better than both vassilij and pyotr.

she did well in school during elementary and middle school, usually coming home with A's and B's on her report card. but when it was time for high school, she was more focused on being tough enough to impress her brothers and father. she would often steal other girls' boyfriends just to get them angry enough at her to try and mess with her, to which she would respond to with an ass kicking. beating up a girl wasn't too impressive, but it angered their boyfriends enough to give her a reason to kick their asses, too. she got by on her academics just well enough to graduate. immediately afterward, she got fully involved with the russian syndicate.

nakia got her first taste of true pain and loss when their mother left them for the hired help, the fucking pool boy. she couldn't even begin to comprehend how her mother could leave her father for that. it was pathetic to her.

not long after, her father went into hiding. their family had made dangerous enemies with the choi family. it angered her that someone she viewed so highly of would go run off like a coward when trouble came. even worse, he left his position to his oldest son. it wouldn't be long before the choi family wanted to kill pyotr, too. like both her brothers, she moved up in position, making her the brigadier. as for raina, she remains oblivious to this day. instead of being with the business, she went off to college, completely unaware that the business even existed. there's still a part of nakia that's jealous of her ignorance and the pedestal she was put on from the time she was a baby. but mostly, she just wants raina to stop being such a fucking princess and get her hands dirty once in a while.

SAMPLE POST:
Things were never the same for Andrew after his sister died.

It was two years ago, but he remembered everything clear as day, right down to the fine details, such as what he had eaten for breakfast that morning. For the record, it was pancakes, which was a Sunday morning ritual for the Kita family. He remembered feeling indestructible, like nothing could go wrong on that one of a kind perfect day. Of course, things did go wrong. They went catastrophically wrong.

She was only twelve years old - much too young to face such a terrible fate. Olivia was just beginning to see the world with the eyes of a budding young woman, rather than that of a child. She would never experience her first kiss, her first love, or having children of her own. That was what killed him the most. She wasn't given a chance to live before she died. It wasn't fair.

Although, one could argue that life was never fair.

Olivia was pure innocence, and the mistake one cruelly idiotic person made cost a little girl her own life. She was riding her bike home from a friend's house. It was the first year that she was allowed to go places on her own. He remembered how excited she was the day she earned that little bit of freedom. If only they knew that it would be her demise, when she was killed in a hit and run, not even two miles from their upper middle class home.

The devastation it caused their family was unbearable. It almost tore them apart, between his parents blaming each other and Andrew withdrawing from everybody. The worst part was that they would never find out who was responsible. He would never fess up (and Andrew was convinced it was a he - a woman would never, in his mind, cause so much destruction and leave without a clean conscience). It was useless, but he swore to himself that if the culprit ever showed his face, he would kill him. He would literally grab him, knee him where it hurts, and kick him while he's down until he lost enough blood to die.

The fifteen year old (at the time), understandably, had a lot of pent up rage. It still burned inside him, two years later, to the core - hatred down to the very marrow of his bones, a plethora of blood thirst running through his veins. With the miscreant not getting what he deserved, there was no direction for his fury to go. The wrath lived inside him, it became him, until it all together destroyed him. It broke him down to the shell of a man he was today.

And his tolerance was about to be tested.

His parents thought they could replace Olivia by adopting a fourteen year old girl - the exact age she would have been if she had lived. They even went out of their way to find somebody with blonde hair and blue eyes. It wouldn't surprise him if they tried to legally change her name to "Olivia", but that was where Andrew would put his foot down. Technically, he had tried to put his foot down when they shared the idea of adopting a girl in the first place. As usual, though, they ignored his opinion.

The mere thought of having a stranger intrude in his house, his territory, and try to steal his sister's place enraged him. To make it even worse, his parents already decided that she was going to be staying in Olivia's old room. Nobody was ever allowed in that room. (Although, he frequently broke that rule, but that was beside the point.)

"It would be good for you," they had said. "it's not healthy to keep all her stuff there. We have to let her go at some point." they had tried to reason. Andrew thought their reasoning was pure bullshit. They were the ones trying to replace her, after all.

He was in the basement with the stereo turned way up high and a punching bag to relieve him of his troubles. Angry music blared from the speakers - a mixture of heavy metal, classic metal, and alternative rock. It fueled him as he practiced on the bag. Jab, jab, cross, hook, uppercut, side kick. Jab, cross, jab, cross, jab--

"ANDY!" His mother screamed for him, interrupting his concentration. He simply rolled his eyes, and continued to punch. "ANDY! COME UP HERE!" With an aggravated sigh, he stopped the music, removed his boxing gloves, and wiped the sweat from his face with his white tank, which also happened to be drenched in sweat. He jogged up the stairs to answer his mother's call.

"What?"

His mother looked at him in disgust. "Go freshen up and put some clean clothes on. Social Services will be here any minute with Alana." She continued to tidy up the place in preparation for Alana's arrival. What the hell made her so special? Reluctantly, Andrew turned away to go to the bathroom to clean himself up.

Not long afterward, the doorbell rang, and his mother hurried to answer it. By the time he had come out of the shower with fresh, clean clothes on, she had already invited them in and given the agent a cup of coffee. When he entered the room, she turned around to say to him, "Andy, why don't you show Alana around the house while I talk to Mr. Monroe?" Although it sounded like a question, Andrew knew it wasn't. All she really did was bark orders at him. She never cared if he didn't like it.

"Alright," He simply answered while looking at the stranger he was to be living with from now on, without a smile or even the slightest friendly tone of voice. Andrew turned around and left the room, headed for the basement, expecting her to follow. He didn't plan on showing her around. Fuck that, he wasn't her tour guide. When they got down to the basement, he stated bitterly, "If you hadn't already figured it out, this is the basement, or otherwise known as my lounge. And if you're going to stay here, we're going to need to lay down some ground rules."

"First, don't EVER touch my shit or go in my room. Everything down here is my shit. Even the floor is my shit. You won't even breathe down here unless I say it's okay."

"Second, at school, I don't know you. You will never talk to me at school."

"Third, I am not your friend. Don't try to be my friend, it won't happen. Got it?"

- It's a small detail, but in her weaknesses, you mention that she was never any good at school, while her history states that she did very well in her earlier schooling. Did you mean that she wasn't ever any good in high school?

VERDICT: ACCEPTED!
