I have always thought about this:
When Aerith is being buried she flows down to the bottom of the lake. But at the same time Cloud stands with water to his waist. That doesn't make sense. huh.gif
So what is your thought? Can Cloud walk on water? laugh.gif

It's probably some aesthetic thing going on. XDDDD They probably wanted the whole scene to be pretty and dramatic, and that would automatically fail if Aerith suddenly falls to the bottom of the lake beside Cloud's feet. XDDDDDD

If you noticed, Cloud also disappeared from the shot entirely. And the lake seemed super wide and deep. XDDD

YES. I know! It would be funny if you saw Cloud's feet standing on nothing while Aerith flows down. XDDDD

Cloud: *sniff* Goodbye Aerith..
(Aerith goes into the water) *5 seconds later*
Aerith: OWW!
Cloud: Huh? ..Aerith, shut up!! Square Enix told us to pretend you were being buried in a very deep lake.

IT'S ALL CLOUD'S FAULT.

And yes, dead bodies float. That was actually the first thing I was going to say, but then maybe Square just really wanted things to be dramatic. And maybe dead Cetra don't float? laugh.gif

LOL! They must have taped the falling down into deeper waters scene in another lake. XDDDDD

I was sort of assuming that Cloud stood on some sort of ledge in the water. unsure.gif But I didn't really think of it much when I watched the scene.

I was too busy crying.

Maybe the lifestream pulled her down? O-Or something...

Technically, bodies float due to gas build-up in the decomposing body, so I'm sure she would sink if she was buried soon after. Probably. unsure.gif

I think Cloud was standing on a stone embankment and he had Aerith fall into a deeper ravine. Probably. That's what I think, anyways.

No.. Because then you would see the ravine when Aerith flows down into the water. But it's just blue.. XD

What it was is that there's a hole in the lake, as seen in the cellphone part of AC. Cloud was standing on the edge of this hole and let Aerith decend into it. That's how it works.
It was like the lake was premade to bury Aerith.

Technically, there were a lot of graphical limitations with that game. Like Cloud's legs being to graphically difficult to animate. laugh.gif

Lol, there's a comic of Kadaj walking in the lake, and suddenly falling into the hole. xD I don't remember where it is though, unfortunately. Anyway, yeah, I think there's just a little drop off there.

Wow! I've been playing the game for the past decade and this never once occurred to me blink.gif

It might be that I was totally distracted by the ethereal beauty of that scene. I just loved how Aerith's ponytail was undone and then her hair straightened by the water tongue.gif
