Synopsis: Halloween night at a dance club

Halloween is always for kids. Candy, dressing up, scaring the pants off strangers, mischief; it's all good fun. There comes a certain age however when going door to door begging for candy gets a little bit lame-well, no that never really gets old, but people do start to look at you funny. After discussing this very dilemma, a group of older teens at Xavier's decided a night out would be more age appropriate and they spread the word.

Therefore, at about 9 PM on October 31st, a group of such students piled out from the cars after traveling from Westchester into the city and in front of a club that was having an under 21 night. It meant the bar would be closed except for sodas but you had to be at least 16 to get in, which made it not completely uncool.

Adam was among the group, dressed for the occasion in a pair of Dark denim jeans and a deep orange button down shirt. A black rocker-style leather jacket worn over top since it was a chilly night. He was clean shaven, his hair thoroughly tousled as usual. Adam may have looked the epitome of suave, but as he felt a bit of traditional Halloween was still in order, his jacket pockets held not only a few handfuls of candy snagged out of the mansion's school party for the younger kids, but also a can of silly string. That was for later.

For now, he hopped from the car and looked over to the outside of the club. Rubbing his hands evilly, he grinned, "Let the games begin."

Will had been sprawled in the backseat of the car for the entire ride from Westchester to New York, spending half of the time complaining loudly about the horrible taste in music of the other people in the car with him, and the other half in a heated discussion about whether or not there was such a thing as bad music - Will said there was, not everyone agreed with him. All in all it was a pretty fun ride and Will was almost sad to see they had arrived at the club, but as soon as he stepped out of the car and heard the music coming from inside, he grinned and nodded. This might just turn out to be an great night after all, and best of all he didn't have to spend it at the mansion with all the little kids.

Pushing up the sleeves of his black corduroy jacket and pulling a hand through his unruly blonde hair, he followed the rest of the students into the club, letting the expressions wash over him. The loud music, the sounds and smells, the lights over the bar and the stage, the dark corners - the girls. There were alot of them in there and Will grinned. He would definitely enjoy himself, even if there wouldn't be any alcohol served and even if he couldn't get a girl to talk to him he still would have plenty of them to look at. But really, why would they not want to talk to him? He looked fairly nice, his hair was washed and he looked clean but not too clean.

As always when he tried to dress up a little - which he hated but still made an effort to do - he was dressed in the old black jacket and a pair of dark jeans, a pair of sneakers on his feet and a dark olive drab t-shirt with a faded white print on the front for yet another unknown garage band, this time a local band from Salem Center. Around his wrist was a wide leather bracelet that had been a gift from his baby sister. His hair was getting a bit long and he kept pushing it back from his forehead,. realising it made him look like he tried to hard - and then did it again a moment later when his hair fell down over his eyes again and he had to push it away to be able to see.

Rubbing his hands together he grinned at the people from the Institute standing to each side of him. They'd had some rough times lately, with the Legacy virus and all, but now things seemed to be back to normal and Will very much liked when things were like they were supposed to be. Slinging an arm around the shoulders of the nearest person he grinned even wider until he looked mildly demented. "Alright then. Let's get this party started!" he said happily and headed off to find the bar and get himself something to drink, even if it was a soda or a Virgin drink. He wasn't really too worried about leaving the rest of the group, they would all find each other eventually.

It felt good to be out of the manor. Ari had a renewed appreciate of autumn in upstate New York. The air was crisp, cool and the leaves were falling in blankets of red, yellow, and orange. Ana wasn't delighted with the whole club thing coming on the tail ends of the virus, but after much negotiating the little brunette felt free to escape, at least until the bus loaded them back up. Cinderella had to worry about things turning into pumpkins and field mice, but Ari considered that a lucky break compared to sick rest and her sister feeling her forehead every twenty minutes. Even the ride into the city had been fun. It was nice to be around people her age without time constraints or suspicious glances, like she was about to cough and kill them all. Alex stuck with the boys who seemed to be the most excited about the trip. Ari was mostly relieved none of them needed to wear costumes. All the Halloweens where Ana mixed pretty little tiaras in her hair or added extra sparkles to her fairy wand didn't feel all that far behind her. Her sister would have tried shoving her into something boring and cute. Lethally sexy would have been completely out of the question. As it was the dress in question had been argued over until a sweater had been added.

Ari left the sweater in the car.

She wished Zoe had better control over her powers. A trip into the city was out of the question for the slender blonde, who had waved off any attempt to either get her to come or to stay home and watch horror movies with her. Ari adjusted the hem of her dress and was pleased with the way it fell mid-thigh. She wished she had a girlfriend around to check her hair off of. During the long drive she was almost completely certain she'd nodded off at some point or another. The little sixteen year old dragged her fingers through her hair, fussing over the little bit of fluff she felt to her straight locks. Her heels gave her a slight, two inch lift because it was all the mistress of the convent, also known as Anbella Nobles, would let her own. She applied a light coat of lip gloss as some of the other students piled out of the car and then headed into the club with the general group, content to get lost for awhile. She glanced around for Alex, an instinctive urge to make sure he wasn't doing anything stupid, but didn't spot him anywhere. The escape into the city had been a popular destination choice for anyone too old to think milkyways were the height of this particular holiday.

"Hey Adam," Ari said as she slid up beside him. If Alex was going to get into trouble there was a pretty limited list of people he'd do it with and the blond shapeshifter ranked pretty highly on the list. Sometimes people ended up with awkward roommates, someone they didn't necessarily ever see themselves hanging out with, but Alex and Adam weren't in that column. Ari counted her blessings Zoe was more of a sister than a stranger. She felt comfortable digging through her roommate's closet for the sweater she'd ditched inside the car... which she really did hope was still there when she got back. Oh well. If she lost it she'd make it up to her with something shiny from her side of the bedroom. The taller blonde wouldn't want to borrow jeans from her, but they could exchange shirts back and forth.

"My brother didn't ditch and go off on his own, did he?" Ari asked as she glanced around. She felt comfortable with Adam even if most of their conversations were either about Alex or buffered by him. It wouldn't be unusual for her brother to ditch out on the event for something he thought was more interesting. Being a teleporter made him cocky about the consequences of time and travel. He'd pop across the city and watch the parade in Greenwich Village and then jump back as if he'd never been gone. Ana worried and fussed over her because they'd both just gotten over being sick. Had she taken the time to tell Alex that if he ditched out on the group he was going to end up eating his meals through a straw? Whatever. It was Alex's problem if Ana ever found out. She had enough to deal with without keeping tabs on the teleporting miscreant.

Hallowe’en was an incredibly awesome holiday. Why? Because it was the one night of the year it was completely okay for women to dress up with very little clothing and call it a costume. It was the night literally anyone could fit in and Alex loved it for many many reasons. When he was a kid it was all about the candy. He use to plot out his route the night before purely so he could make sure he was getting in as many houses as humanly possible in one night. After he’d learned he was a teleporter it made things so much easier. Ana had of course banned him from using that particular ability on nights like that, however Alex never really listened to her anyways. It was a guarantee he would be stuck in his room for weeks afterwards, candy taken away, but what Ana didn’t know was he always hid a good ninety percent of the loot before coming home and having it taken away for disobeying. And people called Ari the smart one.

As the years passed though, candy became less important. The first Hallowe’en he’d been able to go into the city, Alex had decided Trick or Treating was a complete waste of his time. Candy was one thing, but girls were so much more fun. So this year he was relieved the trip wasn’t cancelled due to... well everything that had been happening only a few weeks prior. Fear of death, mass destruction by mutants who couldn’t control their powers. Alex had been so close to being the last remaining Nobles on the planet. Scary thought and not only because it would have literally left him alone... Alex was not a good representation of his family. Hell, most of the time he was the one to embarrass them most.

Like tonight for example. Dressing up wasn’t required. For the most part people just wore whatever the hell they wanted. But in Alex’s case he believed Hallowe’en was a time that one was required, by law, to be anything but themselves. So instead of the pair of jeans and some shirt he normally would have thrown on for an outing like this, Alex had gone to the local thrift store and found himself a red satin bathrobe and black pajama pants. Voila. Hugh Hefner. He’d even managed to find himself a pipe that he would completely carry around the entire evening while he walked up to anything with breasts and tried to convince them they would make the perfect center fold in the next issue. This night was going to be amazing.

Before the car even stopped, Alex was outside, pipe in mouth a grin tugging at his lips as he stared up at the Club Danu sign. From outside he could head the music pounding and he just itched to get inside, and then of course he was. The usual crack that followed his teleporting couldn’t be heard over the music not that it would have stopped him from teleporting in in the first place of course. Looking around, he grinned at a group of girls as he passed putting their faces in his mind for later. Right now there was one girl on his mind and he’s just spotted her across the crowd.

Alex wasn’t sure how he felt about Ari coming into the city for this. It hadn’t been that long since she had been sick, and they had just taken her off twenty-four hour bed rest only a week or so ago, yet Ana had seemed completely alright with it. Well not completely, she’d fussed over Ari like a mother might on her four year old’s first day of school. At least it left Alex to his own devices like sneaking a flask into his robe pocket along with his last pack of cigarettes before receiving his warnings of good behaviour from Ana.

Disappearing and reappearing behind his roommate and sister, Alex tucked his pipe into his pocket, clasping both of them on the shoulders, grin spread wide across his face. “Well, well,” he started, throwing his arm around Ari’s neck. “My little sister’s first Hallowe’en in the city. I feel I should be taking pictures for your baby album or something.”

Halloween was fun. Ashley couldn't help it but she liked most holidays and did her best to get the feeling of holidays and such around the apartment she shared with her mother and two sisters. She was not only driven by the fun of it, it was also very important for her to give her sisters the real deal. Ana might just going to big for this kinds of stuff, but Ashley did it anyway and she had been making sure that every holiday would be something to remember. She liked to think that when they got bigger, they would remember it as a fun and good time. Now that she had her work, she also prepared a small gift for her sisters and mothers. She had find the most lovely bracelets in a market, in carved wood.

She had taken the day off, and as her sisters and mother had been out for a couple of hours, Ashley had used the time to primp the house with pumpkins, candles, and a fake skeleton that she had got from small shop at Fifth Avenue. It was ridiculous how much a fake skeleton could cost, but Ashley knew that she would be saving it for next year also. It had to be worth, first Halloween and all for them in New York. Things were falling into place.

When her mother and sisters returned, they had dinner and after that, Ashley prepared her self for a night out with some friends. They had decided a week ago that they would go to Club Danu, and of course she had to buy a costume. What was the point if not to dress up? Heading up the stairs to her room, Ashley closed the door behind her to get her self ready. She liked dressing up, but she wasn't planning on going as the green Hulk or some things like that. No, she was going to be a nurse. A hot nurse. Giggling a little while she unpacked the costume, she quickly undressed and then putting the dress on. It was a very simple dress, made in a mix of silk and a stretchy kind of fabric. As the dress was on, Ashley stepped over to look in the mirror. The fabric showed her curves off in a very pleasant way, and at the same time not showing too much. Smiling to her self, Ashley pulled the stay ups on and finishing her make up, before grabbing her coat and jumping in to her low heeled boots.

She had decided to met her friend just outisde of the Club, and when the clock struck 10 pm, she arrived outside Club Danu and as soon as she had find her friend, she went in and the girls quickly headed to the bar to get something to drink.

Spider would never really understand what was so great about Halloween, but he was not one to miss out on a night of fun. So when a few of the older students at the Institute decided to head out to an underage event in the city, Spider was more than willing to go with them. He was possibly the youngest member of the faculty and after the whole Legacy Virus crisis, Spider felt a night out was more than needed. Sure, by going he had agreed to be chaperone and driver, but Spider was more interested in the positives of the night. Like the fact that he would actually be getting into a club legally for the first time since arriving in the States.

It was utterly bogus that the legal drinking age in America was twenty-one, when back in Australia the legal age was eighteen. Spider had been able to drink back home for a year before arriving in the States, and he hadn't taken too kindly to being told he had to wait to be given the priviledge again. Now at twenty, the little Australian had only a year to wait to be legal again, but that was neither here nor there at present. He had driven to the city in convoy with a bunch of other cars, pointedly ignoring the complaints from the occupants in the car about his taste in music. When Spider drove, he was the one who chose the tunes, not the passengers. Besides, he couldn't see what they were complaining about... AC/DC was classic rock!

Spider had made some effort with his appearance tonight, his usually messy blonde hair was actually somewhat presentable. Jeans and a nice shirt made up his outfit, a pair of slightly clean runners on his feet. An old blazer that used to belong to English prior to being acquired by the tiny Australian completed the ensemble. It was part costume, part club wear.

As he entered the club Spider felt a little old as he saw all the teenagers, before reminding himself he was closer to a teenager than a adult. He soon forgot about being a chaperone when he felt a familliar arm being slung around his shoulders.

"Alright then. Let's get this party started!"

Grinning up at his friend and roommate, Spider nodded in agreement, punching a fist into the air.

"Here, here!" he echoed before glancing around the crowded club.

"Pity the drinks will all be alcohol free, but I guess you can't win 'em all" he drawled, nudging Will in the ribs and heading over to the bar. He'd had a Virgin daquari once... hopefully Danu would have them on the menu.

Adam grew up with brothers, not sisters, but he was pretty sure there was some rule about sisters of friends being off limits and should only be looked at as little girls with pig tails. Tonight, however, Arianna looked nothing like a little girl and Adam could only be grateful that Alex was not a telepath. But while his mind could wander, his body language remained big-brotherly. He draped an arm around the younger girl with a grin. "It's Alex, what do you think?" he teased. "I'm sure he'll 'pop' in at some point. Come on, let's go in!"

"Speak of the devil..." he snorted as Alex appeared behind them. He let go of Ari's shoulder, allowing Alex to take over his role. "Hey Alex, I bet you I can get more phone numbers than you tonight?" A mischievous grin curled on his lips as he knew the other teen wouldn't be able to resist that bet, but more importantly, it might keep him preoccupied enough to not be hovering around Arianna all night.

"Here, here! [...] Pity the drinks will all be alcohol free, but I guess you can't win 'em all."

Will pretended to be in pain after Spider nudged him in the ribs, even going as far as doubling over slightly and gripping his side. "You don't have to be so rough," he said as he followed his friend and room mate, giving the other a light tap on the shoulder as revenge for the poke. They made their way over to the bar, Will already scanning the crowd for potential girls to test his flirting skills on. He had been told many times that he was very charming and could get any girl - for the first ten minutes of conversation. That was about the time it took a girl to realise that Will really wasn't as sweet and charming as he may seem during those first moments after meeting him.

Leaning with his elbow on the bar he turned his head first to one side and then the other - and then he almost dropped to his knees in an attempt to hide. "Shit! Shit, shit, shit, fuck!" He still had a hand on the edge of the bar and glared up at Spider as if it was the other man's fault this was happening to him. Will had spotted a familiar face over by the other end of the bar, a pretty little blonde dressed in a white outfit that seemed to have been painted on her. "Remember this summer, that chick at the party I went to? The one showing off her powers?" he hissed up at Spider, slowly standing but keeping his head down so he could hide behind the much shorter man next to him.

He pointed over Spider's shoulder. "She's right over there. In the nurse outfit - and I really don't want to talk to her. She's crazy!" he added and almost looked like he would grab Spider at any moment and shake him to make him see Will's point. But the taller of the two didn't grab his friend and instead stayed low, keping a wary eye on the girl standing further down the bar ordering a drink. Hopefully she wouldn't spot him and he wouldn't have to take another trip to Crazyland. Will wrinkled his nose and glared some more when he got a questioning look from one of the other kids from the Institute. "What?" he hissed in an annoyed tone of voice.

Going into the City to party was all well and good, but truth be told Gabe knew there was only one reason he was in the backseat of one of the many cars arranged for the trip. A few years ago it would’ve been for the candy and the chance to pretend to be anything he wanted, and while the costume part hadn’t changed, his focus laid with a different kind of pursuit and she was in another car. Before Ari he thought he had a grip on what made girls tick, or at least he’d been happy with the standing knowledge he’d gathered from past experiences, but her logic eluded him on several frustrating levels. She’d been avoiding him, ducking through walls and remaining intangible whenever he was close enough to touch her, and the repetition was getting old. For days she’d let him stay with her while they were both sick, had let him touch and sooth and draw comfort from her, and now that they were both fine she went out of her way to ignore his existence.

Anger was an emotion he wished he could direct at her for the way she was behaving, but as hard as he tried the familiar heat died out before it had a chance to simmer. It stung, the subtle and direct rejections that she aimed at him, and the faint traces of mortification were hard to choke down when he thought about it. He loved her, he was more aware of that than he was of the chatter going on in the front seats of the car, and it wasn’t something that was going away, even a little, and she knew how he felt. What was worse was that he couldn’t bring himself to regret telling her, the utter conviction and certainty of them making it easier to face with them out in the open, and despite her aloof behavior part of him knew it wasn’t one sided. Gabe could remember with pristine clarity the way her fingers dragged along his cheek, the way her mouth left small, affectionate kisses, and he knew she was aware there was something beneath the surface, she was just blinding herself to it. He was there to make her see.

Gabe stepped out of the car and onto the crowded street, and the inherent noise and bustle set him more at ease. Boston wasn’t New York, but Xavier’s quiet little institute had nothing on this. The giggling girls and honking horns put a wry grin on his face as he stretched out his legs, his eyes already scanning the throng of people for the girl in question. It was easy to recognize some of their crowd despite the costumes, some of them opting not to dress up and others decked out to the nines. As he walked into the club he could see Spider, and he almost took a detour to say hello when he noticed the loser Will ducked down beside him and changed his mind. He had better things to do than get into a pissing match with the fluffy blonde boy on Halloween. Continuing through the crowd, Gabe adjusted his hat and trench coat. A bounty hunter was meant to be inconspicuous, silent and badass, and in this situation it would help keep certain people from noticing him right away.

It didn’t surprise him when his eyes settled on her almost immediately after, her long, silky hair trailing down her back and black fabric clinging to her curves in a way that had his breathing going ragged. He couldn’t tell if she was wearing a costume, but as he examined the thigh-length dress from a distance he didn’t really care about a theme as he eyed her long, shapely legs. A grin quirked the edges of his lips as he started making a bee-line toward her and Hugh Hefner, recognizing the notorious womanizer as Ari’s brother, and only vaguely putting a name to the other boy who was too close to Ari. Sliding up behind the group, Gabe eased between Ari and Adam, his hand reaching out and grabbing hers as he turned to face her and her brother. “Go ahead and kick his ass, Alex,” Gabe said with a grin and a vague nod in Adam’s direction, “I’ll keep an eye on her for you.”

Having Adam drape his arm around her was comfortable, like having Alex around but somehow less annoying. Ari didn't spend an awful lot of time involved in her brother's life. Occasionally she'd hear tidbits about which girl he'd broken the heart of recently. Sometimes she'd even get a dirty look in the bathroom for sharing some of his DNA, which she didn't even blame them for. If Gabe Marshall had a sister she would have asked the girl to keep a firmer grip on his leash, but Gabe was a solo act. Ari leaned against Adam, about to say something insulting about her brother when the crack of Alex's appearance indicated she'd be smarter to keep her mouth shut. She liked the way a sound announced his presence. It was a bit like giving a cat a bell so it couldn't sneak up on the birds. Her gift was more discreet and subtle. So far only one person seemed to have a knack for knowing whether or not she was really there. Even Ana only did a little bit better than average, but Gabe hit the mark every freaking time. She thought it might have something to do with his powers, but she wasn't sure what electric jolts had to do with phasing.

“My little sister’s first Hallowe’en in the city. I feel I should be taking pictures for your baby album or something.”

It didn't surprise her Alex dressed as a playboy. Self-confidence wasn't something lacking in the Nobles genetic coding. Ana was more demure than either of them, but Ari thought that might be a side-effect of having to be an adult before making her way out of puberty. She knew it never would have occurred to her sister to let them fall into foster care, but sometimes she wished there'd been someone else to share Ana's burden. If there'd been an aunt or an adorable little grandma maybe her sister would be a different person. It was selfish to be happy with the way things turned out, but growing up at the Institute had been the highlight of their rather checkered pasts. Ari cupped her brother's face in her hands. "Listen, Skip, you are like ten seconds older than me. If you baby talk me in public I'm going to phase out with my hands on your pants. You can teleport yourself to the Empire State Building, but you can't get back inside something intangible." The little brunette patted his cheek affectionately before dropping her hands away. It was the insult of her life that he was a single year older than her. In fact, for two months they were pretty much the exact same age.

"Hey Alex, I bet you I can get more phone numbers than you tonight?"

Ari felt a pout forming on her face. She wasn't particularly interested in spending the night wedged between her brother and his friends, but she didn't like being left out. There was no way she was scouring the bar seeking out phone numbers just to have a collection. Measuring things with rulers was an essentially male thing and she thought tallying up phone numbers was pretty close to counting the marks on their bed posts. Ari rolled her eyes. Hearing about her brother's sex life was on her list of things to do tonight... right above phasing in while inside a solid wall. She parted her lips to offer Adam her number to give him a head start when someone laced his fingers with her freehand. She would have known it was Gabe without turning to face him. Her body responded to his touch like he'd intentionally jolted her with an electric current. Ari swallowed and tried to untangle her hand without glancing at him, but she could feel his grip was firm. He wasn't supposed to be here tonight. She'd checked the lists and the van before committing herself to an evening in the city.

“Go ahead and kick his ass, Alex. I’ll keep an eye on her for you.”

"Actually, I was thinking I'd play too," Ari said, giving her hand another tug. He held fast and she gave him a dirty look. She felt like a small child being forced to hold hands while crossing the street. Avoiding him was getting harder and harder. It was like he took delight in driving her insane in slow degrees. "And I think it would be easier to do without teams." Ari glanced pointedly down at his hand on hers. She'd give him ten seconds to correct himself before she turned to Alex and made him act like a big brother instead of a trained monkey. If he couldn't get rid of a guy that was bothering her then really what was the point in having him around? "Adam, want to trade numbers?" she asked with an arch of her eyebrows.

"Speak of the devil..." Alex heard Adam mutter making the teleporter raise an eyebrow at his roommate. So they’d been talking about him. Interesting. Alex liked when people talked about him to be honest. Good or bad it meant you were doing something right if they were talking. He imagined that was the way celebrities dealt with bad press. Hell it was the way he learned to deal with people who weren't so pleased with his way of doing things. Of course Alex most of the time just didn't care. He was who he was and people could deal with it. Most would frown upon the pack of cigarettes in his pocket and the flask full of vodka to spike his drink, but Alex would just shrug them off. Obviously they'd never had a really good time. Ever.

Fingers on his face had Alex concentrating oddly on his sister. She cupped his face as she spoke like she was dealing with some silly little three year old who wouldn't get the point or listen at all unless forced to look in one specific direction. Sometimes Alex wondered if Ari seriously thought that any shiny object would distract him into looking the other way or to ignore her completely. Nothing shiny was required. Alex did that shit all on his own. He grew up literally with two sisters. No father, no mother... Learning to ignore the female species was what he did best. "Listen, Skip, you are like ten seconds older than me. If you baby talk me in public I'm going to phase out with my hands on your pants. You can teleport yourself to the Empire State Building, but you can't get back inside something intangible." Rolling his eyes when Ari patted his cheek, Alex pulled away. Ten seconds. More like ten months. Meant he got to drive before Ari, got to drink first, and most importantly got to turn eighteen first and therefore got out from Ana's thumb all that much faster. And damn it he was going to rub it in her face as often as he possibly could. It was his birth right.

"Hey Alex, I bet you I can get more phone numbers than you tonight?" A challenge! Ari's threat forgotten, Alex grinned evilly turning to his friend. "Bull shit. Like any chick in their right mind would give you their number. Especially after I tell them how loud you snore," Alex snorted reaching into his pocket to extract his lighter and a cigarette. Putting the cigarette between his lips, he grinned at a few passing girls, "Hi ladies. So winning this bet," he muttered under his breath. Sighing, Alex was about to ask if anyone wanted to join him outside for a moment when someone slid in between Adam and Ari gripping his sisters wrist like he thought she was going to get away if he didn't. Frowning, Alex took the cigarette from his mouth ready to let the guy have it when he noticed who it actually was.

"Go ahead and kick his ass, Alex," Gabe Marshall started offering to watch his sister for him. In truth Alex had no desire to keep an eye on Ari mostly because... well she didn't need it and having his sister around salted his game. Cocking an eyebrow though his eyes floated between the two frist checking out his sister's clearly unimpressed look to Gabe's one of slight triumph and then eyeing the way Gabe was gripping Ari's wrist. Umm... what the fuck was going on here? Alex might usually be rather unobservant but it was hard to ignore something right in front of him. "Actually, I was thinking I'd play too," Ari commented shooting Gabe a dirty look which made Alex crack a grin. Well this was going to be fun.

"First of all, exchanging numbers with someone playing is cheating. Second, I think we should make this a little more interesting. Don't move," Alex clapped Adam on the shoulder then teleported to the nearest corner store. Quickly buying four markers (one permanent for Adam... or Gabe he hadn't decided yet) Alex teleported back pleased to find no one had moved. "Here's the deal. Getting phone numbers is easy. Plus easy to fake. So we're going to make this a little more interesting." Handing Ari, Adam and Gabe a marker and keeping one for himself, he grinned as he continued, "The person who gets the most numbers written on a part of their body wins. Anyone have anything worth staking here? And no," Alex paused giving a pointed stare in Gabe and Adam's direction, "Ari is not up for grabs."

Adam's good nature's smile slipped a bit as Gabe shouldered his way between him and Ari. He gave the other teen a hard, disgruntled stare before Arianna interrupted, pulling her hand free from Gabe. That made him smirk amusedly instead. Good girl.

"Adam, want to trade numbers?"

He chuckled and nodded gallantly, "I would love too." He slipped his phone from his pocket and was about to get the digits when Alex spoke up again. When he disappeared, Adam rolled his eyes. "Does anyone else get worried when he goes to make things 'more interesting?'"

And then he was back and holding four makers. As they were handed out to each 'contestant', Adam took his. He listened to Alex's rules for the game and then glanced to the others, gauging their reactions and masking it as thinking over what he might have to put up for the stakes.

Since the club was open for underage as well as kids in her own age, Ashley understood why the drinks were non alcoholic. She leaned over the bar to order a coke and then turned to her friend to continue their talk. As they had headed down to the club, Jess couldn't stop talking about this boy she hoped that she would meet again. Ashley listen with patience as always and now and then she couldn't help but smile at her friends enthusiasm and hope for seeing the boy again. Ashley herself, would not mind some attention of her own, but her sight was set on dancing for the moment.

Twisting her coke between her hands, she looked around the bar on all the excited faces. She also admired some of the costumes, some of them was just hilarious and some actually pretty cool. There seemed to be no end of the creativity of people. Ashley was pretty pleased with her costume. She had wanted something that she could dance in and look good in as well. Ziping her coke, she looked over to her left and almost dropped her coke. She knew instantly that he had seen her, at least from the way he was trying to hide... or what ever he was trying to do. She didn't take it for dancing.

For a moment, Ashley wasn't sure if she was going to feel a little hurt or just laugh about. Since Ashley really didn't mind him hiding, she let out a giggle and when she was sure that he was looking at her, she smiled and waved at him, and as well to his shorter friend in jeans ant with blond hair. Jess asked her who it was and turning her for a moment, Ash started to explain. "That's Will. You remember Will? I told you about that party I went to this summer.," she explained to her friend. "I don't think an a apology would change anything now, but it is just me or is he overreacting a bit?" she asked her friend and then turned her eyes to Will and his friend for another amused smile.

She had no intention of really walking over there, she wouldn't risk Will tripping over his own feet and hurting himself, so talking Jess by the arm, she pulled her friend with her to the closest dance floor with more of rock, rather than trance and modern pop. Lifting her arms above her head, she let out a cry of joy, spinning around and making her hair dance around her face.

"You don't have to be so rough,"

Spider rolled his eyes, swatting at Will's hand as he was poked. The Australian native figured he might as well head to the bar and get a drink, although he suspected it would just make him homesick again. Back home, he'd be legally able to drink and so would his roommate, wheras here he was a year off being 'legal'. Spider sighed at the injustice, about to head over to the bar when Will seemed to spot someone he knew. Although judging by the reaction... it wasn't the usual 'hey look, someone I know' deal.

"Shit! Shit, shit, shit, fuck!"

Glancing over his shoulder at Will, Spider raised an eyebrow as he noticed that Will was trying to hide behind him. Spider was just over five foot, where Will was in the six foot range, which made Spider the worst person to try and hide behind. Leaning against the bar, Spider raised a bemused eyebrow, trying to keep a straight face as he spoke.

"Will. Why are you hiding behind me?" there was only the slightest hint of amusement in his voice as he spoke, wondering what had posessed the younger boy to act like such a dope.

"Remember this summer, that chick at the party I went to? The one showing off her powers? She's right over there. In the nurse outfit - and I really don't want to talk to her. She's crazy! What?"

Glancing down the bar at the blonde he was talking about, Spider rolled his eyes again, ordering a coke when the barman finally noticed their presence. He remembered hearing about this party, in particular the little sheila who had freaked Will out. He honestly didn't see anything wrong with the girl, although he hadn't actually spoken to her yet. Spider shook his head bemusedly, glancing at Will with an amused expression on his face.

"Would you stop acting like such a bloody galah and order a damn drink? She's gone off dancing now, so you don't have to worry about her getting her crazy on you" Spider commented, watching the blonde and her friends leave. He briefly glanced over the crowd and spotted Ari Nobles with a group of boys that included her brother, Gabe Marshall and Adam Walden.

"Why aren't you playing nice with Alex, Gabe and Adam, eh? Thought you wouldn't want to be stuck with an old fella like me" he teased, nodding over to their fellow Xavierites.

((OoC: I'm a little confused about who's turn it is. The posting order so far should be Adam, Will, Gabe, Ari, Alex, Ashley and Spider. Does that mean it's my turn, since Adam's post is already up?))
