They are very peacful and can do well in a community tank with fish that won't fit in there mouth. They can grow up to 12 inches (30 cm) and a tank of 50 gallons is suitable for a full grown severum. There diet should include Hikari Cichlid Pellets for great colors and health. There is a few kinds of severums but the main ones are the gold severum and the turquise severum. The only time you may see an agressive severum is when they are breeding. They take good care of there young until there ready to live by themselves.
