((*grins* I'm glad you joined! We could use a brute around.

I'll just give you a few insights on the lingo so you don't get confused. Brute and fae are just male and female. We use alpha/alphess to describe the leaders of a pack, beta/betess for the second in command. Then there's omegas, which basically have no rights in a pack and just havn't been formally kicked out yet.

I'm sure you allready knew some of that, but I felt like telling you anyway. Oh, and it's winter XP))

Akari's eyes instantly zeroed in on the bush Sledge gestured towards, sniffing at the air to catch the scent. The faint breeze shifted for a second and wafted some of the scent towards her and she quivered. She glanced at Sledge and crouched slightly, gesturing for Sledge to go one way while she went another. She slowly and silently crept off in the other direction, preparing to ambush the rabbits she could smell hiding under the bush. She would probably have to scare them out, but Sledge should be right there to catch any escape artists.

(( Yeah. ^_^ Being wolves you have a lot to take account for, including your body postures here, you can change the meaning of a stance simply by moving your tail in a new direction. But I don't think this roleplay will get that complicated... Yet. XD Also remember that there isn't such a thing as tribes to wolves, it's all packs and territories.

We'll work you in ASAP, just wait long enough for us to catch a few of these rabbits, you may be walking around exploring some scents for the few more posts we need to get some food, then it should be easy for us to get you right on in.))

Sledge lowered her body ever so slightly, ready to bolt after any who tried to run. Her lip lifted in a small way, and her eyed flashed with alertness, they seemed to be her only sense that was unmarred. Both ears twitched back as another odd scent flitted past her nose, but she told herself to ignore it and pay attention to the kill.

Akari focused in on the rabbits now, not paying attention to anything else lest she let this opportunity slip away. There was time for everything else after she had her quarry. She crept closer to the bush slowly, examining what kind of bush it was so she would know if she could get into it without sticking herself with prickers like some of the bushes had. It seemed like it would be alright for her to get into it. She crawled on her belly to the bush, sniffing carefully so as to not stir up the dirt. There were rabbits inside this warren, she didn't know how many, but there was live meat inside. Her tail twitched slightly. Forming her plan quickly she dove under the bush, her nose going right for the hole in the ground in front of her. Instantly all hell broke loose in the warren. Four rabbits, suddenly cornered by hungry jaws, all tried to escape at once. The first wasn't lucky, for it was quickly grabbed, neck snapped easily and with little struggle. The second just made it past her nose, and in the mild frenzy of the hunt she dove after it, the other two slipping out behind the second and being herded right towards the waiting Sledge. The second rabbit wold not escape with it's life, as Akari was right on it's heels, the rabbit surviving by dodging swiftly. The other two however, would be left to Sledge.

((My GOD thats a large post for me today, XD))

Sledge pounced the instant that she saw the two rabbits bolt out, one after the other. She snapped up the first, breaking it in her powerfull jaws, and tossed it aside, muscles flexing as she chased, weaving after the other. She knew their zigzagging tricks, and didn't fal for them, catching it quickly as it tried to make a right angle turn to confuse her. She flipped it up into the air and threw it aside in a heap next to the other, tail waggin slightly in spite of herself.

Akari quickly feinted to the left and the rabbit dove to the right, falling right into the trap. Akari pounced full force onto the rabbit, landing on top of it with muffled snapping sounds and grabbing it by the back of the neck. With another snap it was over and she picked her quarry up to get the first rabbit kill of the day. Once they were both in her jaws she pranced through the grass, tail high and wagging, head held high with her kill and feet barely touching the earth between steps. She was happy to have caught a meal today, as it had been a few days since her last successful rabbit hunt. She walked right up to Sledge before she stopped, her feet still shifting a little while she stood. She set the rabbits down to clear her mouth. "Wonderful hunt! Now we should take this quarry back to the rocks I was laying on before, they'll let us watch our surroundings while we enjoy these lovely snacks."

Diego wandered through the low underbrush, sniffing his way around. The leafless branches caressed his white fur gently as he walked low over the snowy ground. Suddenly, a smell came to him. It was something he hadn't smelled in a while. The smell of warm blood, the sharp smell of sweat. The smell of a recent kill. He hesitated. If he followed the smell, he could end up being in more danger than he already was, but he also couldn't keep sculking around unnoticed, for he would eventually been found. Then, all of a sudden, something else caught his nose. He turned his head in surprise, all thought of the kill forgotten. He knew that smell, though it was faint; far away. The smell of humans. He could not stay here.

Sledge sniffed, not really caring one way or the other. She grabbed her two rabbits and held them far less enthusiastically than Akari did, the blood trickling into her mouth allmost more than she could stand. She wanted to eat right now, but seeing as how she had borrowed this alphess' nose in the hunt, she should honor her wishes. Her ears were held lax as she slowly walked back the way they came, sharp eyes picking out their tracks on the ground. She turned to watch the happy alphess as they started off, trying hard to remember if she had ever been like that. No, probably not.
