Rules and Punishments
Here at Chao Paradise, we have a few rules and regulations to keep the forum up-and-running and relatively family-fun.

[b]Member Rules[/b]

1. Please keep a restraint on swearing unless absolutely necessary.

2. You are not to talk back to staff of any kind. Especially not Kiao. You've been warned.

3. Keep fights to a minimum, and if you do have a fight, try to contain yourselves until an admin or moderator reaches you.

4. When criticizing someone's work (fan art, fan fiction, sprites, etc), you have to have a helpful comment or two. Don't reply to someone's work and say, "I hate it. It sucks." Give the person the reason why it isn't to your liking so that they can work it out, and make their peace of work better. But don't whine.

5. DO NOT steal fan art or sprites of any kind at any time. If you want to use someone's fan art or sprites, give them credit. If an administrator catches you using someone else's work without giving credit, ANYWHERE, and you will be punished for it. No exception.

6. No SPAM outside the SPAM section. That goes for random babble or things like "lkjfahdskjhgsdfklhsadfk BLAHhjhsadlkfjh", and posts that have only smilies.

7. Please use up to three words in each post. (Breaking this rule will not result in consequence, since a lot of people do it. But, it might result in a lot of nagging.)

8. Do not bump topics. The way to tell if you're bumping a topic is to look at the date. If it was made over 3 weeks prior to the current date, then don't reply to it. However, if the topic is Pinned, or it is an RP Topic you have made, then feel free to bump it at any time.

9. Double posting is a no-no. Don't do it.

10. Avatars and signatures may not contain any inappropriate materials. This is including (but not limited to) profanity (unless quoted), YouTube clips, massive pictures, excessive animations, lots of text, songs or song lyrics that may be profane and suggestive in any way, pornography, and the like. Also, at any time, should any member of staff deem an avatar/signature inappropriate, they have the right to remove it, although they must give a reason why first.

11. Avatars must fit 100x100, or they will be scaled.

12. Try not to make massive signatures, as they cause those with slower Internet connections to suffer unbearable load times.

[b]Staff Rules[/b]
1. Any changes to the board should be taken up with Sweetie or another admin first.

2. Don't start arguments with members. Remember, we are the example. We need to keep the peace and not stir up trouble.

3. If you see a topic gets out of hand, it's better if it's trimmed so unless the whole topic is nothing but a fight. In which case, delete it. Don't get lazy if the fight is over 2 pages long. It's up to you as staff to get rid of it so that Chao Paradise looks better, and so that information from that topic could still be helpful to others.

4. You aren't above the law. You can still be warned and punished by other Staff.

5. No acting on bias. That includes banning a person because they don't like the same music as you, as an example.

6. No banning for no reason. Banning Game is an exception.

7.Removing another staff's powers without permission of Sweetie or a group vote of the staff is prohibited.

[b]Punishments for Members[/b]

1. When you break a rule, you will be given a verbal warning.

2. When you break a rule twice, you will receive Warnings from staff. If your Warning Level reaches 100%, you will be temporarily suspended (up to a week depending on the severity of your actions) and your Warning Level will be reduced back to 0%.

3. If your Warning Level reaches 100% three times, you will be suspended for a month.

4. From that point, the next time your Warning Level reaches 100%, you will be banned. Your name and posts may also be edited to humiliate you.

[b]Punishments for Administrators/Moderators[/b]

1. When you break a rule, you will be given a verbal warning.

2. When you break a rule twice, you will receive another verbal warning.

3. When you break a rule twice, you will receive Warnings from staff. If your Warning Level reaches 100%, you will be temporarily suspended (up to a week depending on the severity of your actions) and your Warning Level will be reduced back to 0%. You will also have your powers removed for a period equal to your suspension after you return.

4. If your Warning Level reaches 100% three times, you will be suspended for a month, and your powers will not be returned to you.

5. From that point, the next time your Warning Level reaches 100%, you will be banned. Your name and posts may also be edited to humiliate you.
