Hi Carolyn!
My name is Anouk and I just had to find your message board to say thanks for your books! I hope this finds you and I hope this finds you well!
I'm 23 and I've got 7 yr old twins (yeah, I'll let you do the math). A little while ago, in what seemed like an impossible feat, I started college. I don't have much help with my kiddies so I knew this would be hard (don't even get me started on finances). But regardless, I started and it was a DEE-saster!
I've got a boy and girl and they usually get along splendidly. Smart little bookworms, can normally entertain themselves, etc. But once I started school, out of nowhere, they just started fighting like crazy! I knew it was probably because I was busier, but you know, I don't think it's too much to ask that mommy get one hour to herself!
So I decided to take them to the library. They started reading very young and I swear to God I checked out about ten books for each of them. They didn't want anything to do with them (Harry Potter included - which I was glad because it's too scary). I was at Borders and I saw your first book and I thought I'd take one last chance before I gave up. I only bought one, just in case.
I brought it home to them that night. We planned a special night for the three of us. I wasn't going to do homework, we would watch a movie, all that jazz. They were already at each others throats when I started dinner and I was at my wit's end. By the time I finished cooking, I noticed it was incredibly quiet. I actually got scared.
I rushed into the living room and what did I find? My two little bunnies were curled up together on the bean bag chair reading your book aloud...TOGETHER! I just about burst into tears.
That was a few weeks ago. They're already well into your second book, the fighting is minimal, I've been able to get SO much done, and it gave me the boost I needed to think I might actually be able to finish school before my little ones graduate themselves.
I know I've rambled, but from the bottom of my heart, thank you! I can't say it enough.
xx/A
