Rosie let out a small sigh as she lay on her back in the grass, looking up into the cloudy skies. She wasn't sure why she was outside- it wasn't freezing, but it was warmer by far in her own dorm. She had just wanted a bit of fresh air, though. Maybe all of Mariette's fears were getting to her yet, and she just wanted to escape the dorm for a bit. No, actually that was the one fear Mariette didn't have- and the one fear she did. Claustraphobia. Such a horrible thing to come by. Rosie even got goosebumps when Mariette curled herself up in their little closet, it seemed it was a fear that made no sense but one that she would, under any circumstances, ever be talked out of.

Being in the enormous game pitch and looking up at the endless sky made Rosie feel a little small, though. She wasn't sure if she liked this feeling either, but it was a lot better then being in a tiny space. And besides, she liked the fresh air, even if it was a little cold. Rosie was wearing a light jacket, though, so she hardly felt cold at all, anyway. She did, however, feel a little lonely. She had no idea where Mariette was; Mia was off practicing and perfecting the art of transformation; She had gone over to Oliver and Felix's dorm [not so much for Oliver] but it had been empty... And she had no idea as to where Sammi or Jessi were. So, in an endless sea of people it left her alone, laying in an empty field and feeling slightly sorry for herself.

Rosie's dark brown eyes moved from the fluffy grey clouds in the sky to the school who was just on the hill above from her. It looked very elegant, sitting up there on the hill with a stormy-like backround. This was certainly unlike any other school Rosie had ever been too, granted she had only been to two schools. Unlike many of the people here, she had been born and raised in Venice. In fact, her house was only a few boat rides away, granted it would take a few hours to get there. But still, a lot of the people that went here were from other countries, even. It amazed her at some of the things she had been described, about America nd Canada and Africa. Rosie wanted to travel, but the only time she had even ever left Italy was to go to her brother's wedding in France. Oh well, maybe when she was old enough she would get a chance to travel the world.... maybe.

[ic;] Hungry. Very hungry. Kumiko frowned, looking down at her feet--one step in front of the other, like a trapeze. Her boots clunked against the metal, though the rumbling in her stomach seemed louder. Sighing, she jumped down to the cement beneath her. She wore black jeans, a pink plaid skirt over those with a chain belt. Probably one of your more typical punk styles. Of course, she wore a long-sleeved happy bunny shirt (couldn’t go wrong there), but her black trenchcoat hid the words. The left side of her short-cut hair, currently dyed pink, swept in front of her yellow eye (contacts, of course), while Miko’s black, natural color, hair (left side) was swept behind her ear to reveal a pale blue eye (contacts, again). She looked down at the ground with these odd-colored eyes, finding a ladybug among the gray cement.

Partly because of her crazy mind, and partly because of the hunger gnawing at her, she wondered if the ladybug would be any good. Would it take away the hunger, would it be the most delicious thing on Earth--a new discovery? She licked her lips almost flirtatiously, but then decided better of it. Kumiko’s boot slammed down against the ground, scraping over the remains of the once-alive insect. A sadistic smile creeping on her black-colored lips, she looked on at the game pitch, detecting a lone figure on the ground. Quite bored, and now hungry for fresh meat and some company, Miko gracefully slid up to her feet, snake-like.

Humming a forgotten melody, one she had perhaps played long ago, Kumiko made towards Rosie with unbroken steps, oddly quiet as fast as she went. As she neared this lonesome girl, Kumi recognized her as one of the popular kids in school. Not necessarily your ‘queen bee’ type of material, but she was definitely known by everyone and friends with almost all. This didn’t necessarily describe Kumiko, for she was fairly well-known (her stunts traveled around the school), but obviously not on good terms with very many people. In fact, she seemed to like butting heads with them more than anything else. This one, however, she only knew about--Kumiko had never talked to her, certainly not long enough to see where her loyalties lied. Well, why not now? Why not.

Rosie probably didn’t see her until Miko’s boots stopped inches from her head, where the girl bent down so she was balanced on her feet, knees bent and head looking through them. She cocked her head inquisitively at Rosie, and asked an odd question, but one that probably should have been suspected from Kumiko. "Do you feel…like a ladybug down there? Does it make you feel…little?" she asked, genuinely curious, but also sounding a bit patronizing. A smile danced through the contacts in her eyes, twinkling with a certain life.

Kumiko looked into Rosie, and within her found the certain life she saw in everything. Peering into this, Kumi wondered what it would like squashed--what would Rosie look like if the light disappeared forever? The picture wasn’t pretty, but as Kumiko looked into Rose’s eyes, she saw that her life wasn’t easily damaged. She wasn’t an easy person to bring down, and Kumi liked this. Her light was strong and warm, and Miko hoped the person itself containing the flame could live up to it.

"Talk." "Think."

As Rosie lay in the grass, watching the scenery around her she frowned slightly, realizing how bored she was. Thinking back, Rosie tried to remember the last time she had done something really interesting. She tried… but nothing was really coming to mind. Letting out a loud sigh, she frowned once again, at herself this time. She was an interesting person. She had a lot of friends, hardly any fears, and was always willing to try something new! So why wasn’t her life filled with interesting things? Dare-devil stunts, Touring the world, learning other languages… there were so many things she wanted to do, but when would she get started on them? She was only sixteen, so she wasn’t old enough to do anything, really. She couldn’t move into her own house, not that she’d want to, she loved her house and was at the school most of the time anyway. In some places she could drive, but Rosie usually stayed in Venice and used the vaporetti. So… nothing.

A large bird flew over, startling Rosie from her thoughts, but she still lay there, unmoved- like some sort of statue. Not that Rosie wanted to move. Although this was boring, it was interesting at the same time. And oxymoron, if you will, but Rosie couldn’t think of a better way to describe it. Rosie loved sitting here and looking at the scenery, observing the wildlife and what not. But, at the same time, she’d rather be out there, were exciting things were happening instead of simply lying on the grass and wasting her weekend away.

A shadow came over her, and Rosie was quickly startled as a fellow student made one swift movement to kneel down over her. Pulling herself up, Rosie frowned slightly, immediately recognizing the girl to be Kumiko. A girl she had heard a lot about, but never actually met. Then again, half the things Rosie had heard about Kumiko weren’t exactly good, nor made Rosie want to meet her, but that might just be the gossip… "Do you feel…like a ladybug down there? Does it make you feel…little?" Kumi’s odd question floated across the breeze. She said it so calmly that it almost sounded like a threat, it was a strange question indeed, though. ”Not especially,” Rosie lied, even though she remembered thinking just that a couple minutes ago. As an attempt to be friendly, though, Rosie did offer a small smile. ”What are you doing out here?” she asked her, curiously.

[ooc;] Eh, sorry for the crappy post. I'm trying to catch up on my posts.

[ic;] Kumiko was pleased that she had startled Rosie. The strange teen was unsure whether that had been her original intentions, but she enjoyed knowing that she had caused that emotion. The other girl had pulled herself up so she was semi-eyelevel with Miko. Peering into Rosie’s eyes, she could see that this girl knew who Kumiko was, and had heard all the good and bad things about her--mostly bad. Yes, she could judge this just by her eyes--it was pretty easy, particularly with all the practice Kumi had reading people before they even had a chance to talk. It was almost a gift, really.

”Not especially.” That was her answer to Kumi’s question. Almost right away, Miko knew this had to be wrong. She didn’t say anything about it, though, just stayed squatting and soaking up Rosie’s words. ”What are you doing out here?” At this next question, Kumiko’s tongue slid out to like her lips, finally settling down to be softly bit between her teeth. "What an interesting question," she thought aloud, trying to find the answer herself. "I suppose…I‘m bored?" she said. Lame answer, Kumi, you‘re losing your touch. She smiled at her own thoughts. "Or maybe we‘re telepathically linked and I just knew you were going to be out here and had to see you," she said, making a joke, obviously, but sounding semi-serious. Oh, Kumiko, how odd was she?

Miko smiled at Rosie and herself with her dazzling, delirious grin, sitting down on her bottom finally, knees bent and arms resting on them. "And, so, my dear Rosie, if I remember correctly and that is your name, what are you doing out here, staring up at the sky like a little bird that cannot fly?" she asked, not intending to rhyme but going along with it. Truly, it isn’t possible for Kumi to even try to act normal--the insanity just slipped out.

"Talk." Think.
