Title: Mike's berth
Darkwater - November 27, 2007 04:04 PM (GMT)
The room of Micheal O'brian is only a little larger than a standard second class room, the walls have been decorated with all manner of pictures and posters however, spare clothing neatly lying out in perfectly folded piles on the living room table. The only bedroom is adorned with a double bed and a small writing desk, and his wardrobe contains mostly uniforms, a few pairs of T-shirts and jeans and a tuxedo, for those formal moments. There is a half empty bottle of whiskey sitting on the kitchen counter along with some packets of soup.
Darkwater - December 5, 2007 11:45 PM (GMT)
Mike steps into his room and closes the door behind him, dropping his bag on the floor and making a beeline for the kitchen to grab the bottle from the counter and take a swig
"Ach, home at last"
Border Walker - December 5, 2007 11:47 PM (GMT)
Indeed so, though on the counter seemed to be a small Halloween esque decoration of a statue of a black cat...
Darkwater - December 5, 2007 11:51 PM (GMT)
Mike takes another quick drink, then reaches out and prods the statue
"Where the shit did that come from?"
Border Walker - December 5, 2007 11:55 PM (GMT)
Prodding the statue seemed to do nothing except cause it to make some sort of easily identifiable fake meow...
Darkwater - December 5, 2007 11:56 PM (GMT)
Mike chuckles, picking up the decoration and giving it a shake, trying to get the meow again
Border Walker - December 6, 2007 12:03 AM (GMT)
Picking up and shaking the decoration made it do more than meow... way more...
Soon, the room around Michael began to darken quickly, and the Halloween decoration let out a sharp, incredibly realistic Meow. The area around Mike went utterly dark, blacker than black, darker than the darkest of nights. It lit up soon enough though, but barely, as he seemed to be standing in the front of a dark cemetery gate, one of those you'd expect from those classic Horror movies. Inside, Mike could see what appeared to be the front bow of the Calypso, only, it was the titanic, and it looked like the pictures taken from it at the bottom of the sea...
As if too add insult to injury though, The cat decoration in mike's hand soon glowed, and turned into a real black cat that leapt off his hand and onto the ground, into the graveyard...
Darkwater - December 6, 2007 01:01 AM (GMT)
Mike blinks, looks at the booze in his hand, then goes to drop it, changing his mind at the last and taking a long drink. Instead following the cat
"Ach, what the hell worse could happen?"
Border Walker - December 6, 2007 10:19 PM (GMT)
The cat walked along the ground, occasionally jumping from rock to rock as it moved towards it's destination. Mike noticed it seemed to be getting closer and closer to the ship...
Darkwater - December 6, 2007 10:31 PM (GMT)
"Great, titanic tour then?"
He asks himself, still following the cat as closely as is possible without being unsafe
Border Walker - December 15, 2007 07:49 PM (GMT)
The cat hoped on a rock, then bounded onto a low branch of what looked like a tree, then onto a higher branch. It continued this upward bounding until it reached the bow of the ship, meowing to Michael for him to follow...
Darkwater - December 16, 2007 01:54 AM (GMT)
Taking another long swig of the bottle, he tosses it behind him and starts the climb up the tree, muttering about the improbability of this, and how he will have to talk to the captain about the ship later on
Border Walker - December 16, 2007 06:08 AM (GMT)
After a lengthy climb, Mike was able to make it to the deck of the ship, and was able to see what anyone who saw pictures of the titanic saw. Before him lay the Main bow, with the crewmen's mast fallen back over the captain's chambers. The black cat meowed once and began to head off towards the ship...
Darkwater - December 16, 2007 11:17 AM (GMT)
With his hands back in his pockets he continues after the cat
"She woulda been a beautifull ship..."
Border Walker - December 16, 2007 04:34 PM (GMT)
The cat meowed, as if to say something in response, but continued walking, heading down and up a set of stairs and into what would have been the D deck...
Darkwater - December 16, 2007 10:23 PM (GMT)
And mike continues after, using this unique chance to look around the ship, taking in all he can see. After all, not many people get to walk the halls of a once sunken and very famous old ship
Border Walker - December 17, 2007 02:27 AM (GMT)
As Mike moved along, he could see the once beautiful craftsmanship of the wood in the ship, coated over in rust and other matter. The cat lead him down onto the promenade and into the D-Deck halls. Mike remembered how on the Calypso, these Halls never existed, replaced by a Large Mall Construct. From what he could see, these halls were once first class bedrooms...
Darkwater - December 17, 2007 03:55 PM (GMT)
He looks around, left and right, vaguely remembering the plans for the titanic and how these were cut from the calypso, before speeding up to keep following his feline guide.
Border Walker - December 17, 2007 09:54 PM (GMT)
The Cat squeezed itself around a doorway and into what Michale would recognize as the First class entrance, which still had some of it's elegance to it. The Cat however did not stay long before scratching at a door that looked to be heavily collapsed, and possibly immobile, before it lept and squeeze through a small hole...
Darkwater - December 17, 2007 10:40 PM (GMT)
Mike pushed his way through the doorway, then looked at the door the cat had passed through
"Well shit viewers...."
He shoulders the door, hoping to open it, and if he fails that, looks for another way around
Border Walker - December 17, 2007 11:40 PM (GMT)
Shouldering the door once did infact work, though it may not have been the best idea, as Mike nearly toppled down into what can only be best described as a pit into Hell. What was once the Grand Staircase, has collapsed into a great shaft that seems to go on forever, ending into a lake of fire, with screams coming below.
Mike could hear the Cat meow, as it walked perfectly balanced across an iron beam that seemed to lead across...
Darkwater - December 17, 2007 11:53 PM (GMT)
He sways on the edge, just about regaining his balance and looking down at the lake
He moves toward the beam, checking its stable before he sinks into a crouch, moving on all fours, gripping the sides with his hands as he moves across
"This better have a damn good point cat, or I'm eating Korean cuisine when i catch up...."
Border Walker - December 17, 2007 11:55 PM (GMT)
The cat made it to the other side and meowed and agitated meow, as if understanding him, as the beam, while making noises under his weight, held for now...
Darkwater - December 18, 2007 12:02 AM (GMT)
Mike picks up a little speed, trying to get across as fast as he can without slipping
"Sorry about that there, I'm just a little agitated. Heights over burning rivers and i don't get along well..."
Border Walker - December 18, 2007 12:05 AM (GMT)
The Cat made another low meow, and even seemed to roll it's eyes at Mike as it slowly moved it's tail about...
Darkwater - December 18, 2007 12:11 AM (GMT)
He makes it across the beam and looks back over it, dusting off his hands on his trousers
"Well, thats me made that. Lead on my catlike friend!"
He turns on his heel to face the cat, following where ever its headed
Border Walker - December 18, 2007 12:13 AM (GMT)
The Cat hissed as a loud Screech of Steel could be heard, and the very beam mike had just walked across falling into the lake of Fire below...
Darkwater - December 18, 2007 12:16 AM (GMT)
Mike jumps, backing quickly away from the edge and swearing nicely in what sounds a bit like Spanish
"Jeeeeesus Christ.....See why i don't like that kind of thing?"
He watches the ledge for a long moment, ready to move with the cat
Border Walker - December 18, 2007 12:20 AM (GMT)
The Cat looked to Mike and meowed, even seemingly nodding it's head as it continued onward into what appeared to have been the First class dining area...
Darkwater - December 18, 2007 12:24 AM (GMT)
And mike followed, ever more suspicious that his guide was some manner of sentient being that actually understood him.
I should probably be more unnerved by that, but hey....
Border Walker - December 18, 2007 12:26 AM (GMT)
The walked through the ancient dining room, many chairs and tables still lined with clothes to look presentable to those who had their last meals. The Cat seemed to go towards the door to the Galley, and clawed at it...
Darkwater - December 18, 2007 12:31 AM (GMT)
Walking through the hall, he trails his fingertips over the back of one of the chairs, taking in the table and all of its trappings with one long look
"So sad if you think about it...."
He shrugs, making his way over to the door to the galley and pushing it open, following the cat inside
Border Walker - December 18, 2007 12:36 AM (GMT)
Inside the Galley, Mike could see some of the pots and pans that had fallen as the ship began to tip in it's descent. A stove still seemed to have a pot on it, though it's contents are no longer...
Darkwater - December 18, 2007 12:38 AM (GMT)
Slipping his hand behind him, ready to grab his knife, he moves through the galley, curious about the pot that seemed to have defied gravity. He moves over and takes a look inside
Border Walker - December 18, 2007 12:40 AM (GMT)
The pot seemed to be just that, a pot, with some burn marks on the inside that suggested the pot had been used quite alot. The Cat meowed as it pawed at the door to the hall behind the Galley though...
Darkwater - December 18, 2007 12:43 AM (GMT)
He prods at the pot, still wondering how it had managed to stay up. He looks around the galley again before moving to the door and opening it. Letting the cat through and following after
Border Walker - December 18, 2007 12:47 AM (GMT)
Michael would remember this hall as being the one he was attacked in, and as if to reinforce the point, a large stain of blood sits against the wall, looking human sized, with it trailing into the supply room, as if dragged in...
Cue Deja vu sense in 3... 2... 1...
Darkwater - December 18, 2007 12:51 AM (GMT)
He draws his knife, muttering under his breath as he looks around the corridor, shooting glances left and right
"Great, just great. I get the feelin this is not gonna be the strange but nice hallucination...."
He moves cautiously toward the supply room, leaning against the door frame and looking in
Border Walker - December 18, 2007 12:54 AM (GMT)
Inside looked to be none other than Liam, chained to the wall with glowing blue chains. He too seemed to be glowing blue as well... like a ghost...
The writing he had left could also be seen... caked in...
Darkwater - December 18, 2007 12:56 AM (GMT)
Mike manages, scrambling over to the wall and tugging at the chains
"Shit, are you alright man?"
