Hazard threw a crumpled paper ball into a waiting waste bin, leaned back in chair and sighed. The air in the small office was still, as Ty realized he'd forgotten to jerry rig the a/c like he always did. Standing he closed the case file open in front of him, one that included a picture of something that looked like a mix between a bear and a rabid dog.
He was supposed to be with a client, but either the guy was late...or he wasn't coming at all. His clients seem to have a disturbing pattern of being unreliable. It was playing havoc with his bills, not to mention making progress impossible. He'd been tailing a suspect, and had pinned him to a small hotel. The place was swarming with weird night types, the types of people that weren't what they appeared to be. He'd met a lycanthrope...and she'd told him there was more to his suspicions then circumstantial evidence, and hearsay. He was on to something, and he couldn't let this go.
Turning the small bathroom sink on with a twist, Darius washed his face, and peered into the mirror. He grimaced noticing the stubble building on his face, then gazed deeply into the mirror a second longer...
Was he really trying to track a vampire? To what end? What could a human do against something with that amount of raw strength. He'd unloaded a whole clip into one of thier members, and the damn thing shrugged them off...he needed better weapons, and more of them.
Then there was the Davenport kid...missing for almost a week, he'd found blood that matched his on the window sill, along with claw marks, that looked like...well something other then human. If the kid was a werewolf, there was no telling how he'd be when Hazard found him, and he shuddered to think of having to shoot a 16 year old kid.
