Freya was trying to make sense of things. Had been for quite some time now. She was scared, deep down she knew she was. Scared and confused. It was her that was supposed to take care of her mother now, not the other way around. Yet she was confused about many things and life in general. She was twenty, but she felt like a little girl at times. What’s happened to her and her family back in Sweden didn’t help at all. At least she still had her mother with her. But for her mother she needed the security of the pack. And for herself too. She needed to know that if she was away from home if only for an hour or two that her mother wasn’t alone.
So she was strolling down the street of Aldenville, trying to get to know the city. Maybe that was what she needed – a larger city to get lost among so many humans and supernatural. Before she had always lived in a small village or the pack forest. She wasn’t used to being in the city as often as now. Before she had ventured to one or two big cities on occasion with someone, but never had she tried to live in one.
She much preferred the forests, the plains and nature in general. Of course the city had its advantages with the never-ending stream of lights and venues that could entertain anyone, including the young werewolf that she was. She was walking through one of the shopping districts, looking around herself and absorbing what she was seeing around herself. She had smelled few werewolves around. One didn’t have to live in the town too long to pick up on things such as what species used to linger in various parts, mingling constantly unintentionally or on purpose.
She wondered about the werewolves that chose to live in the cities with humans. It was a little unknown to Freya as this was only the second attempt at that and she was trying to get into the pack now. So she strolled down the street, keeping to herself. The blond took out the bottle of water that she had in her bag and drank some of the liquid. It was pleasantly chilly. Her hands were cold as always, though the rest of her body had the temperature of a werewolf – higher than normal human temperature.
Part of her wondered whether someone would give her trouble or not, but she wasn’t scared; she had been past scared for quite some time now. Or at least in these mundane situations. She wouldn’t let herself become paranoid and see someone after her on every corner.
