” No, that's why I came back here. The worse things get the more the city needs people who will help out. I'm going to stick around for as long as I can.”

It was a slow evening, one Luella hasn’t had in quite a while. She seemed to be running around lately doing things that she shouldn’t be. Like getting rid of few fledglings that didn’t mind the unspoken rules of not revealing their nature to humans. Lu had no fear for humans, she could easily move into another city. And then another if needed, but God knows that this coven would burn in ashes if the secret ever got out. The humans had two advantages – the sheer number of them, which was greater than the numbers of lycans and vampires combined and that they could walk the day as well as night. But why was she even bothering to think about these things now? There were others to keep an eye on things tonight. Tonight for her it was doing nothing save for the things she wanted to do.
She was currently laying down in her bath, enjoying the hot water. She had fed earlier tonight and was pleasantly sated. Soon she rose from the bath and walked over to the mirror looking at herself. She had changed very little in the last 200 years. What more could one wish for? To not be vulnerable to age and any illness, to be close to invincible by human standards? It was great. Amazing and all the synonyms those two words had. She had met only few vampires older than her, but she knew there were tons out there. She wasn’t that full of herself, to think she was the best there was of their kind. But she didn’t take kindly to younglings stepping on her toes and acting as if the world belonged to them.
She got ready to go out of her room. Even if it was only the hotel lounge, one never knew who could come by as it was open to all supernatural, not only coven members. She was doing it for herself anyways. Wrapped in the towel, she went to pick yet another dress; she had the biggest wardrobe full of dresses and other clothes, courtesy of a deep pockets and the money from them put into various accounts. Tell her she didn’t go with the era. She picked out red dress; tube on top, tight around her body, flowing into a light skirt under her stomach and falling to her knees. And put it on with few other essentials. She wasn’t in a hurry, so applying make up and other little things took some time.
The lounge was fuller than she had expected. She took her usual seat by the window and crossed her legs. Her protégé appeared from somewhere and moved towards Lulu and told her something. Lulu nodded and Nina left her alone, leaving the room. The young one was hungry and so she’d gone to get herself a dinner. The sun was down for two hours at best and given that is was nearing winter it’d be a long night. She stood up and went to get herself a drink, a scotch, and went back to her seat, taking the local papers in her hand and started reading through it to see if anything of interest was happening in Aldenville.

It had been a long while since Gabriel had done anything to further his plans of taking over this city. He'd began to get a bit jittery, so much energy with nothing to do, he wasn't used to it. He put down the book he tried to read as he stood up from his expensive, antique chair, "Bradley, come and turn out this fire," he called out to one of his butlers as he walked out of his library and made his way to his large bedroom, when he entered the first thing he saw was the large luxurious bed, the comforters were a burgandy color with golden triming, the bed was made of a dark wood Gabriel didn't know but he liked it.
He went into his closet, big enough to be mistaken for another room, he looked through his suits. Gabriel grabbed a black dress shirt, before deciding on the jacket and slacks. The grey 4-piece caught his attention and settled on that one over the baige one he considered. He grabbed some black italian loafers, changing in a flash. What he was going to do? He hadn't decided on yet, but thought about what wouldn't bore him to death or a place that had a good selection of liqour. Gabriel, of course, had an un-rivaled slecetion at his own home but didn't want to stick around, just like everyone else he did get restless, although he'd never admit that he had these normal impulses.
Through the door, and already picking out a car to take he still didn't know what his destination would be but he would be sure to find a place that didn't have any of those wretched mongrels and something good to drink. Before getting into his decided car, a Lexus. Gabriel knew where it was he would go... To the hotel where he had met with the alpha before, it was vampired owned and from what he remembered. The drink, before throwing it in the wolf's face was good. Out of his gate and now knowing where to go he sped his way downtown.
It took no more then fifteen minutes before he was letting the valet take his car to it's parking place. He entered the hotel with his usual serious and grim face, looking at the humans and not so human people walking through the lobby. Gabriel made his way to the small lounge where the bar was. Gabriel scoped out the people in the room, looking to see any familiar or interesting faces. Then he noticed a vampire, she was of old blood. He could smell it off of her. Gabriel got his drink and stood up, making his way over to the attractive vampire. It had been a while since he spoke of to a female and tried to conquer them. He sat across from the vampire, "Hello," he started...

The paper provided rather interesting information besides serving as a distraction. Another vicious killing by what the humans naively labelled as a wolf attack. They really couldn’t, or rather wouldn’t, acknowledge there could be something else behind the attacks that had spread over Aldenville ever since the supernatural had made their way into the metropolis. Though in all honesty lately they were more frequent and it was becoming disquieting to see what was happening. Soon enough the coven would start making it known who was the boss here and making sure the rogues, both vampires and lycans, fall in line.
All she needed was free hands to do as was needed which she’s been having trouble obtaining. She put the papers down for a moment, taking a break and gazing out of the top floor of the hotel onto the streets of nighttime Aldenville. There really couldn’t possibly be a better place for a vampire to live than this city or one similar to it. The disappearances were less noticed in the mass of people as was the fact that vampires were there. It was indeed a lovely setting for them. She had been sipping on her scotch for quite some time now, until she heard the clinking of ice cubes and there was no more liquid. Lula simply raised her palm few centimetres and soon there was a waiter ready to take her order.
“Another scotch, make it double boy,” she said, giving him a smile, and then going back to her papers. She saw him nod his pretty head from the corner of her eye while reading the announcement section. Nothing of interest there. Her drink arrived soon and she didn’t pause her scanning of the papers for it. The boy put it on her table and scurried away to serve others. She felt someone move next to her. She didn’t raise her gaze, but she knew the stranger had sat down across from her and spoke, obviously addressing her.
“Good evening Mister King,” she said simply, not looking up for a moment longer and then finally folded the newspapers and laid it aside, onto a small table to her right, behind her drink. “I trust you are well tonight,” she said with a satisfied smile. Of course she knew who he was; she kept tabs on people of interest. And he certainly was of interest to her and the coven, though not necessarily in the good sense of the word. He was beginning to step on their toes and Lulu didn’t like that one bit. Well it’d be interesting to talk to him a little as they have never officially met.
