He wasn't one to get his hands dirty; Gabriel tried to avoid it at all cost, but this was something he had to do and wasn't going to let some dirty street stop him from finding out what it is that he wanted to find out. Sonny had gathered some intelligence for him since they last met. He was looking for a familiar someone who worked for the coven in this city but was double-dealing for Alden. He was going to find him, torture him, get the info he need, and then kill him. He was walking hurridily and one of his shoes got a scuff mark; he gritted his teeth at this; he hated things to be un-tidy or shabby and his shoe being scuffed would be in that category of shabby. He was going to kill that familiar and anyone else on his way back.

Why he didn't take a car? It would be a bit too suspicious if a Ferrari, Mercedez, or Benz showed up in front of some run-down apartment full of junkies and prostitutes. Of course, he could have bought himself a Toyota or something, but he'd never stoop so low as to buy some commoner car. He was a king, a God, and Gods didn't drive Toyotas, only the best for Gabriel and he'd earned it hadn't he? Years living as a poor kid, or so that's what he thinks his childhood was like, nearly getting killed in some war that he had to fight in. The only positive thing about that was becoming the greatest of predators.

He turned the corner and suddenly the busy streets and stores dissapeared. Gabriel was now walking along apartment buildings that all looked alike, he was in the slums of the city. A man like him in a place like this? It was such a grotesque situation but it'd be worth it.

148 Lincoln Ave. Gabriel had made it to his destination. He proceeded to enter the building. It smelled like piss and sex, neither odor apeased him. He had, in a flicker ended up on the 2nd floor and was now making his way to the 3rd, "7C, 7C, 7C." he kept repeating to himself looking for the druggies apartment, he passed by it. He turned back and a dark smile crossed his face; he busted the door open with little effort and let himself in. The feeble victim was in the bathroom shooting up with Gabriels stuff no doubt. He supplied this entire city with it's narcotic needs, "You," he said calmly with the dark smile still on his face, "I think you know some interesting bits of information about a certain man." he ended.

The man was thin, pale, his eyes were dialated, but he wore a suit; it was wrinkled and torn at the arm he was shooting up. His eyes suddenly shot up towards Gabriel and he let out a frightened yelp. Gabriel let himself into the bathroom but didn't make a move; he just stared at the man with the same dark smile, "So tell me what you know boy." his voice rough, but kept that almost melodic tone. This was going to be the first in a long line of victims... Once this human told him what he needed to know about Alden.

The 'illustrious' vampire might've despised this place. But, in all of that.. he'd have nothing on the sheer distaste that echoed on the features of the rather young witch who entered unknowingly behind the vampire.

The worst of places always knew the most of things, and they were often much easier to talk to for information. A few promised meals, some money, blankets or spells and it was easy to have an eye in the underbelly of society. Of course, what sort of eye was yet to be revealed.

Silently, she entered through the back, nervously fidgiting in her pockets, gloved hands resting easily in the oversized pockets of her light tan wool coat. She stood out as always; quiet and almost innocent in a place that surely a young woman like her did not belong. A witch- they knew who she was, and most left her be. Sure; she feigned at weakness, but that did not mean she wasn't stronger than most any in here. Pointedly she rounded the hall, heading up the stairs quietly to the apartment that she had been given the number to.

When she reached the floor, however, there were various people in the hall. Her blue gaze flicked nervously back and forth, quietly taking in the surroundings before moving to the door to the apartment that she was supposed to find. only to discover the door broken in and the voice of a supernatural- she guessed vampire- and the man who had been the contact. Without fear, without reservation she stepped into the apartment, delicately moving towards the bathroom.

"What.. is the meaning of this? Who're you?" She stared towards Gabriel; gaze still even and direct. She had no clue who he was, nor did she honestly care all that much unless he had involvement in any of her various concerns.

He managed to get a few of the detectives haunts, a few people he knew, a couple who helped him, and managed to make him pee all over himself. Gabriel laughed at the pathetic man whose still had the needle stuck in his arm. This man was useless and he'd probably wasted too much time being here but it wasn't a total waste so he'd figure this worm deserved a quickl, slightly painful death.

His gripped his hand around the victim's neck and in the blink of an eye had him against the wall; Gabriel figured he'd snap his neck and throw him out the window it was reasonable and not too messy, well not until his head crashed against the pavement and bursted open like a melon. Gabriel was motioning towards the bathroom door when a young woman appeared in his way... Ophelia, yes Sonny warned him about her and he recognized her from the club earlier this week and she stuck out then like she does now.

"What.. is the meaning of this? Who're you?"

"Excuse me?" Gabriel turned towards the young woman and she was quite the beauty but if he wanted to he could snap her neck in half-a-second and go back to his buisness, but she was going to be some use to him, "Ophelia darling please wait outside while I take of this thing and then I'll get to you." he spoke in such a casual manner as nothing was going on and talked down to her as if she were some pet. She was, or at least thats how he saw, but Sonny warned him that she might be stronger then most witches so he didn't doing anything stupid, not that he would.

She stared, finally recognizing him. The vampire- from the club. Gabriel? She'd seen Sonny with him, chatting it up; getting really friendly. Barely, she scoffed. Her hand moving closer to her pocket as he told her to wait.

"wait outside? Please. Hardly think I'm going to listen to the likes of you. Leave the man alone, I've got buisness with him." She glared quietly forwards, hardly having even the beginnings of patience for the vampire in front of her. Her tone was far from fearful; sure, she was nervous- afraid even of what could possibly happen.. but when it came down to it, there was something greater than her fear and her life at stake. That alone drove her to push any fears or qualms beneath a mask of resilieance. Besides- a man was in danger. He might've been a despot and a disgrace, but he was still a human. The vampire? He might've seen her as something akin to a pet, but she saw him as far worse. Putrid, disgusting. Rotting flesh that just didn't have the good graces to get on with it.

"You're that new vampire they're talking about, aren't you? Dealing in drugs." She stated flatly, though her tone fell into disgust at the mention of drugs. Her eyes level on his despite her much smaller size. Never once did her hand fall out of her pocket, however- more than completely prepared for whatever it was he'd decide to do.

His hand was still wrapped around the insect that he'd used for all he was good and thought it might just be time to rid the world of this insect but the witch decide to interrupt him and why he wasted his time talking to her; he didn't quite understand other then his use for her she was about as important as a blade of grass and last time he check no one importanted needed a blade of grass. Her faced showed recognition apparently she remembered him from the club or had heard of the vampire who would soon run this city.

"wait outside? Please. Hardly think I'm going to listen to the likes of you. Leave the man alone, I've got buisness with him."

Did she speak back to him? Gabriel King; one of the most infamous vampires around and has killed plenty of witches in his time and she could just be another victim of his a notch under that gloriously over-priced belt of his, "How dare you speak to me like that insect." his tone was dark and cruel, enough to make anyone shutter, "Buisness is what you have with him do you?" he asked just as cruel. In a flash he pulled out his .357 to her head and at point-black he could blow her head clear off. His confidence didn't falter he didn't see a threat in her all-powerful or not nothing ever really hurt Gabriel, maybe irritated him but nothing more. She spoke with a brave voice but he knew better, he'd break her soon enough but for right now he had to find easier information.

She asked about his buisness and he scoffed at the dealing comment. Gabriel ignored her disgusted tone, "I don't deal in anything. I run that world. I was the first to put it in L.A. and New York. I'm the reason so many are in a hole they can't find themselves out of." he was proud of his work; the men he corrupted, the lives he destroyed, the insects he's killed, or anything of it. He actually reveled in the feeling of having so much control.

He could try- but who was to say he wouldn't miss. Her hand clenched tighter in her pocket, closing around an item silently. She did not pull it from her pocket just yet, however- instead, she waited. Well aware that if she jumped the gun, then she'd be in trouble. There was a time; a time for everything. It'd be revealed, and she'd react. Vampires. They hardly frightened her anymore. There was a time, as a child, that she would've recoiled in complete fear.

Now? Now he was just a monster. She smiled, quietly; pleasantly shifting her gaze towards the drug dealer. In a second faster than Gabriel could react with skills honed by years of practice, she flung a small tiny satchell- a sleeping potion that was.. a great deal more powerful than any drug that man would've ever seen or taken. He was out like a light within a second before she looked back towards Gabriel.

"Nothing. I heard that he was sick and needed sleep. That was all." She smiled pleasantly; honestly. When he spoke about drugs, she shifted her weight, taking a single step backwards. "King of the underworld then? If this is your subjects-" she looked towards the now sleeping man silently. "I do not envy you."

She still took small steps back, bright eyes focused forwards- her right hand still resting tense in her pocket regardless of how relaxed her eyes seemed to be.

He found it hilarious how she fidgeted at the show of his gun and she kept her hand in that damned pocket of hers. It made Gabriel a bit uncomfortable, but he'd encountered a fair number of witches in his time and he'd been through hell and back so whatever she threw at him was hopefully something that's already gotten him in the past he'd learn to deal with all forms of pain including the sun but he knows better to go out during the day even he had that weakness, "Fear..." he took a whiff of the air as to sugguest that he could smell such a feeling coming from her and he smiled a dark smile.

A small pouch hit the ground and the man he was holding to the wall quickly passed-out. Gabriel was half-shocked at her actions and he quickly point his gun at her arm. He looked over to the unconscious man and quickly flicked his wrist side ways and snapped the useless mans neck, "This would be no subject of mine just a bug like all others." he turned to her and returned her smile of accomplishment to mock her.

"I'm sure you didn't enjoy to see that." he kept the body in the same place not letting go of the corpse as if he were waiting for something. She moved back and seemed tense like she were preparing for a fight, "Oh, I do hope that this napw ill be long enough for him to get better." he finally said as her body stayed tensed and ready. His gun still followed her every movement even the smallest slip and he'd do what he does... Kill, "De'amor? Your surname correct?" he remembered that name and the havoc wreaked upon that family and the small part he played in it, "How did you survive you're poor family's slaughter?" he said in harsh mock sincerity.

She stared as he killed them, vivid eyes wide in horror for a brief few moments before she finally pulled her hand out of her pocket- 4 small satchels firmly grasped in her hand. The man died and barely she shifted; no one- not even the addict in front of her- deserved death. Barely, she stiffened, fully prepared to attack and run, until he continued. She didn't speak when he told her she didn't enjoy seeing that- since.. well, it was obvious she didn't. Who in their right mind would? She moved her hand back to throw- eyes completely focused before she paused. Her name. Her origin. He.. knew? For a second her confident air faltered, and barely.. she lost control of the situation that she'd been so confident in.

"How do you know about that?" Her tone was different; quiet, dark. "what do you know about my family?" her hand lowered silently, and while she still held the tiny mixtures in her hand, she didn't seem to be as adament about a fight. At least- not at the moment. One wrong answer and she would attack without a second of hesitiation.

She seemed to falter at his comment of her family and he'd already given himself the upper-hand if there were any confrontation. She seemed shocked that he knew anything about it... He had forgotten those small details of his life, killing to him was like any other moment so the slaughter of her family was a distant memory and how he got around that coven and even tore a few of the elder vampires to shreds to keep himself off the radar. It was perfect.

Gabriel feel back into the present recalling the cries of the women and even some of the men as they feel to that coven, "Oh, not so confident anymore, are we?" he continued to mock her the hurt in her eyes the tone she spoke with it was such a beautiful thing. Nothing like torturing these foolish human who knew a few parlor tricks and believed themselves great, "What I know about your family is none of you're concern." he continued to tease her and watched the frustration, the hate in her eyes and even if she were so luck as to attack he'd already pushed her, she'd make a mistake and they were so close to so many innocent people. He laughed at what seemed like nothing.

He noticed the small pouches in her hand, he counted four but there could be more under that jacket of hers. He figured that maybe he could push a little further, "Your family," he laughed again harshly, "your family were lambs waiting for the fate that awaited them." he had forgotten about the body that he still held firmly in his grasp. Gabriel wanted to push her let her slip up and kill her, but not today. He couldn't risk it today.

So few witches ever broadened their horizons past their magics. Sure- some of them carried modern weapons, guns, knives things of the like. But few ever really looked into using the skills they already had and applying them to disciplines. Ophelia? She was more than glad to indulge in less magical forms of alchemy. Besides the best distractions were often human invention- smoke powders, noise makers.. those things were useful beyond belief and the fact that she could make her own was more than a novel idea. The vampire near her still held to the body and the gun- making him at least momentarily slower than she. It didn't matter, however. His words about her family struck her close, delicately switching something in her mind.

Silently, sadly in an admit of defeat, she lowered her head and quietly put the tiny satchels away. As she did, however, a tiny glass vial followed in her hand- unseen thanks to the so-called 'parlor tricks' of her kind. illusion- distraction. Silently her gaze lifted, earnest fear and sorrow clear. "They.. they couldn't have been. So many of them.." Silently, her head lowered again. Her posture grew weak and she moved her hands to clasp delicately in front of her.

She stood motionless for a few moments, letting the visage of her supposed defeat settle in before, in the flash of a milisecond, she raised her hand and threw the vial forwards to his feet. Another milisecond later, and she turned- running full speed down the hall without even waiting to see the spell behind her. Really- it was a marvel. A beautiful thing that most would've been astounded by. It was a simple idea, not even a complicated spell. But the balance between human explosives- a tiny amount that was just enough to be mildly deafening- and the powerful sunlight spell that suddenly exploded the room into brilliant UV rays was what made it more than noticeably different. Improvisation.

As she ran, she dug into her pocket, hastily reaching for another satchel that she quickly broke and threw over herself- making her a hard thing to spot. Not completely invisible- but at the very least, a shadow moving through the decrepit building. Already tenants were stepping into the halls to find out about the small explosion and light they saw. They were the reason she did not release a spell into the hallway- not wanting to cause them harm for the sake of her own escape.

He'd acted slow- taunted. The downfall of every vampire. She'd wanted to speak, wanted to taunt this vampire and make him suffer for his part in the uprooting of her life but right now.. right now she had to get out of the building.

He had let a smile cross his face as her look of deafeat crossed her own face. He knew what to say and how to say it. He never even thought for a moment that she was a threat or anything of the like, but those were the things that had cost him more then once and he'd figured he was done making such mistakes. Well, this wasn't one of those times.
He looked at her with such a look of satisfaction, "It didn't really matter how many of you there were, all that mattered is what they were, and that was power," he looked at her, "for us." he finished with such a smug face.

Of all the things he expected of a weak creature like Ophelia was far from what it is that she'd done. The vial flew at his feet; she'd managed to trick him and get her chance to attack. His trigger finger was quick though and he fired at her, wheather he hit her or not he wasn't too sure about, but the sudden burst of light caught him off gaurd he moved the body in front of him stopping a bit of the sunlight that glowed in his direction.

Gabriel rushed out of the bright room and ran into the hall way. His right hand had been exposed to the folly sunlight longer then the rest of body and started to show signs of the effect. He only walked towards the steps in a slight rush then running; he wasn't going to wear himself out looking for her, but he knew where she worked, lived, ate. He made sure to get as much information on her as he could plus she was slow, fragile. He already had her scent and hunting wasn't as fun when he found the prey too quickly.

"I'll find you little girl." he spoke out to her not looking in any specific direction. She'd made a huge mistake in antagonizing him. No one ever lived after insulting him and she was no different; her usefulness had ran out when she attacked and it was his turn to go on the offensive.

He could smell her, feel movement, and although he couldn't see anything he knew she was near. He'd gotten to the bottom floor and followed her scent to area, it wasn't too accurate to assume it was really her, but he could always torch her building down when he knew she was in. It was a simple matter, but he wanted to sink his teeth into her, taste her warm blood. After all, the De'Amor clan had the sweetest of blood, even more so then most other witches and she was the last remaining member or so he figured. That family was too smart to have let themselves fall off that way. There could've been more. He just knew it...

The scent took over again, "I know you're here." he stated simply as he looked around to find her. She was a sly one and a smart one too. He didn't expect her to escape the way she did he just couldn't help but fall back to her attack plan, it was ingenious, but also her downfall...

Despite what he thought, he did not know where she lived. There were only two in the entire city who knew where she lived and both.. Both would more than want to keep her alive. Where she worked was another story, but would he be so bold as to openly attack a witch who was a member of the clans? Sure.. she was a low member (though her 'low' position was quickly beginning to fade the more she got caught up in the witch murder case) but it didn't matter- if there was one race in all of Aldenville to attack in the open.. it definitely wasn't the witches. Vampires and Lycans died all the time but witches.. Witches were supposed to be untouchable. The council itself was a power that had yet to be understood- much less seen about. You knew who the pack leader was, you knew who the coven leader was. But the council? No one knew.

Downstairs, she held her breath, silently waiting for the moment when she could slip out the now closed door- hopefully in the next few seconds. The Dust- an easy mixture of components to make 'shadows' (the often mistaken stuff of nightmares- "shadow men") could only last a small time- a time that was, as of now, quickly running out. If she could get out and to the police- or to that shelter place she'd heard mentioned.. everything would be alright. She'd get in contact with John Alden, give him this location and where the body was- well aware that there would now be skin particles seered into the flesh of the dead man (enough for her to come back and concoct a protection spell and a curse, hopefully)

Right now, however- her only concern was getting outside the door that was, horribly enough, positioned right between him and her. Carefully she moved along the wall, attempting as best as she could to keep her shadowed form out of sight.

He could feel her movments. Gabriel had since been done considering what it was he had planned to do and it would be quite simple for all that it mattered. He was going to beat her, drink her blood, and then snap her neck like he did that poor excuse of life that laid in the bathroom and for what it was worth she would be his most pirzed catch, but he didn't linger on it too much, after all she just another meal and victims never really mattered to him any how.

The movements started become visible. He could almost see something and with that he withdrew his two nines. He walked over to the enterance and only exit at the moment and whifed the scent trying to catch where it was most prominent. He still hadn't gotten it, but he knew that if he unloaded right now there was a small chance he'd miss her if only a graze and he seriously doubted the girl could make her blood invisible and for what it was worth. She'd irked him which was more then anyone else could have done and he almost held some respect for her, but that was a foolish thing to expect from a man like Gabriel.

It was almost like a horror movie the way the scene played out. The monster looking for the hiding girl as he gets closer - he knew he was getting closer- and she tried to keep from screaming, but it normally always ends the same way. Girl dies and monster moves on to the next person, but he was no mere monster. He was among the leaders of the underworld and soon enough he'd have her blood.

He began to fire un-expectedly trying to catch the girl off guard and finish her off quickly. He didn't spare one of pice of the lobby as the bullets flew around the entire room; destroying the couch, busting holes through the counter, blasting down frames that stood, and putting holes through the wall. It was going to end, and it was going to end the way he wanted it to.

Her gaze remained focused on him as she inched along, carefully attempting to keep hidden in every bit of will she had. She watched him closely, almost mockingly aware of how hard he was trying. Partly, she was aware of how sure of himself he was, how confidently arrogant he was.

She had things under control. She was going to get out. Every bit of her mind and her focus was needed for this, every bit of focus. She however.. hadn't expected him to shoot. For a second she kept silent, assuming that she'd get lucky. She didn't, however and for the briefest of movements, she reveled in the pain of being shot. Everything felt as if it were suddenly in slow motion and it took every bit of control for her not to scream. She did make a sound, however, a silent muffled wince clear in the room.

With one hand clutched over the wound in her arm, she darted for the door, making one final attempt for freedom despite the overwhelming odds against her.

He heard her, it would be just a muffle to regular ears but to him it was loud and he knew right where she was because her breathing got heavy enough to hear clearly. The steps were loud too, she wasn't the swift cat she was before and that would be her un-doing as his almost came to be only a moment before and now the little bitch was going to pay. Gabriel had already had his priorities set and this was number one at the moment.

The thumps of her steps were clear, Gabriel grabbed something he couldn't see what it was but he knew and threw it back against the wall; across the room. She started to become visible and she was bleeding, he thought he had smelled something sweet and there it was; Ophelia De'Amor.

His strides were long and he was next to her in almost a blink, "What I want from you is simple," he started with menace in his voice, "where do you live?" he asked and before she could refuse he grabbed her face pulled down her jaw. He pulled out a small vial and poured the dark liquid in her mouth. Gabriel's smiled grew dark as he watched her swallow the truth potion and waited for her to answer him.
