” No, that's why I came back here. The worse things get the more the city needs people who will help out. I'm going to stick around for as long as I can.”

"What a joke, there is no such thing as blending in when you're nearly seven feet tall, radiate a temp of 109 degrees fehrenheit and black as coal."
Dom laughs, a deep rumbling sound bursting forth through the breadth of his chest. It brings his cheekbones higher, making his stern face more pleasing to the eye. The dulcet voice on the other end of the phone laughs along with him, responding with a sassy retort. It sets Dom off again, and either because of his joyful attitude.. the patrons walking about Alden Park give him a wide birth. Regardless of the smile that touches those ebony eyes, they naturally shy away from him.
He is a hulking brute, a fence sitter to all supernatural parties.. and currently employed by the Marquis at Sangre.
"I'll give you a call later, promise." With that being said, he snaps the cell shut and stuffs it into a pant pocket. One large hand stuffed along with it into the slacks pocket, opening up the jacket that rests over those extra wide shoulders of his to show the dove gray shirt on beneath the charcoal blazer.
He does dress snazzy, but it doesn't take away from his "Gangster" appeal. Fedora included, it shades his eyes from the glare of the sun making its way down through the canopy above.
But why was he walking about the park anyways? This wasn't his turf.. not that Dom held any specific turf.. being a rogue alotted him just about any turf he wanted. Not many Pack wolves would come up against him single handedly. Not that he could blame them, but hey.. most kids these days in the packs were babies still, compared to his nearly 300 years of age. Coming upon 290 in a matter of weeks, Dom just couldn't bear to think about it.
He'd lived a helluva long time, but he'd only been in Aldenville a little over three months now. Nobody knew where he lived, his number was untraceable.. it was like he was a ghost in the city, making himself scarce without even trying.
But why was he in the park? Looking for someone in particular for Marquis? Or just strolling about at his own leisure. Just as he was hard to find, so were his motives.
The park was crowded today, all the do-good moms with babes.. joggers, kids playing frisbee. In all actuality.. Dominic felt a big blank in his mind, a longing for the Vegas pack and the female he'd left there. Sydney. Just her name brought a wistful smile to his lips, but that was in the past.. right where he would leave it. He had to get over the female, and no one woman could truly do that. At least.. not yet.. and not that he wasn't looking either.
He had plenty of vampire females lining up to smile and flirt with him while at Sangre. The coven was used to his face being around, liking the fact that he was working for the Marquis. And he had yet to meet the local pack, aside from Adrian. Dom hadn't made the effort, he had his hands full lately.
But that didn't mean he wouldn't step up soon and seek out Mr. Johannes, just to offer a friendly helping hand every now and then. For now though.. he definitely liked hanging out with the vampires. Maybe his mindset was changing.. evolution was a part of everyday life.
So was he. He could be the good guy.. and he could be the bad guy. As said before.. Dominic was and forever from now on.. would be a fence sitter. Neutral, like Switzerland.. only if paid rather well, he'd extend his services on either side. His heart had hardened.
He was becoming a true Antonin Chereshovo, like his father before him. Dominic Skysong was only a given name.. it wasn't his birthright. That.. was the old him. He was emerging into something different.. Something infinitely different. It would take serious work getting him to soften up again.

Everyone knew Luella. Well every non human being at least and those few humans that weren’t oblivious to what was happening in this city. She has her years, surpassing most residents and carried herself accordingly. She wasn’t stuck up by any means, simply fully aware of her power, which was something few others could handle with dignity. It was the security of this power that she shielded herself with during her years here, of course gaining that only gradually; nothing just falls into your lap after all, no matter how pleasant that might be. She looked down at her body as it was moving in her room, getting ready to go out for the night.
This vampire loved going out as the sun was setting. She wasn’t nostalgic, on the contrary, far from it, but she liked a little change from the dark every now and then and the time of dusk and dawn were able to provide that. Her skin could stand those few seconds of fading light without burning and Lulu took perfect advantage of it as she did of everything. The tight black cocktail dress was firmly in place, only one more tug upwards at the strapless garment and all was settled in its place; Lulu screamed ‘graceful’ wearing practically anything, but she was known to have a soft spot for dresses. It was a handy thing that vampires don’t get cold or she might be close to freezing, walking outside just in the dress. On the second thought, blending in a little wasn’t such a bad idea and so she grabbed her coat and put it on before leaving her room behind.
Her purple eyes gazed at the descending sun obscured by a veil of clouds the first thing upon walking out of the hotel and before she got into the car. It was almost always the backseat and if it was so then it was never the seat behind the driver and while she was hardly one for stereotypical tradition, few habits were stuck with her. Lu didn’t really have any specific plans for the evening, but one figured she’d most likely end up in Le Sangre as it was the only place of its sort in this city. Maybe she should open up another one; not to spite the Marquis, but just for the sake of diversity. She might feed soon, she was getting a little lusty for blood. See Lu was her own kind of special; there were times when she was hungry and then when she just felt like blood. Might sound the same to you, but she knew the difference and believe her, there was one. The coven master gazed out of the window of the car as the night settled over the buildings and smiled softy. Tonight she was in a weird mood, so she’d be unpredictable in her actions.
Like now. From the corner of the eye, she noticed someone in the park that made her tell her driver to stop the car. “Go back to the hotel,” she told the driver, a young vampire female. She looked at her boss in a confused manner which made Lu want to roll her eyes. Why couldn’t they just obey without that dumb look of not understanding on their faces? She pushed the door of the car so it shut without too much noise and crossed the street without looking out for cars on it. Her eyes were on the tall man, decreasingly distinguishable from his surroundings the darker it got; his ebony skin glowing only faintly, but otherwise perfectly in sync with the dark. What a splendid picture that made in her opinion. Soon she was caught up with him; with her almost six feet and the three inch heels, she still looked petite in comparison to him.
“Good evening Mister Skysong,” she addressed him in soft voice. Of course she knew who he was, at least vaguely. She made sure she knew what was going on around the place; it was always beneficial to know these things. Her hands were tucked away in the pockets of her coat and she appeared to be completely relaxed. Despite the general idea many had about her, Lula was hardly one to stress and fuss over things. “I’ve been looking forward to meeting you you know,” she said in that aloof tone that made people raise an eyebrow more often than not, questioning just how serious she was being. As for this moment, she was sincere in her words and it could be easily recognized once she turned her face slightly upwards to look at him. Impressive; that was pretty much her only thought at the moment, besides being curious whether the impressiveness would fade when he opened his mouth to talk.
