Let's all imagine a perfect world. Where everybody's happy. Nobody fails, and nobody's disowned. Now, let's take that world, and add feuds, fights, make ups, and break ups. Let's add some unreasonable hatred, maybe some unrequited love, and a Romeo-and-Juliet-like romance. Possibly some laziness, and a bit of confusion. And definitely some tears, death and magic. Now, that's more like it!
This is how it's like in the world. the wizarding world isn't any better. Death eater numbers are getting alarmingly high, and these days, you don't know who to trust. But, those who are in Hogwarts, at least, are safe. Hogwarts is one of the only safe places left in the wizarding world. Why is that? Lord Voldemort has only Feared one person, and that would be Albus Dumbledore. Headmaster of Hogwarts.
As the marauders enter their seventh year, many unsuspected turns have begun. Everybody expected Remus and Lily to be Head boy and Girl, yet, It seems Dumbledore has other ideas. James Potter and Lily Evans are the newly appointed Head boy and Girl. Dorcas Meadows has captured the heart of one of Hogwarts's notorious Playboys. Remus Lupin has fallen for a girl, but he doesn't know if he should allow himself to get close to her. Peter Pettigrew is just a fat lump who sleeps all the time, so, whatever. As Slytherin plan their future, the most commonly-used words used for this is ‘Death Eater’. It's no question most of the Slytherin are planning to be just that, they love power. Severus Snape, upon loosing his best friend right before his Defence Against the Dark Arts O.W.L., He's become engrossed in his studies. What's he studying? Hexes, Jinxes, curses. He doesn't care for many anymore, so, he's going to work on his spells.
The minister of magic is giving Barty Crouch full reign of his department. Which, in common opinion, is the stupidest thing he could have done. The man has been leading the department of magical Magical Law Enforcement on a route of corruption. Very few approve of his methods at all. Some might like his methoods, but their numbers are lowering. Daily.
As the days go by, people are dying. Muggles and Magic folk alike. There are few places in this world in which are safe anymore, and otherwise, it's like you're walking on broken glass. Wherever you go, whichever direction you take, things will never go exactly how you want. All paths end the same way, and have similar problems. You can go the Death Eater way, and have Barty Crouch send highly-trained aurors to kill you, or you can go a "better" way, fight against Voldemort, and have the Dark Lord send Murderous, Raving Lunatics to kill you.
