Lily 's green eyes were unfocused, and staring at the vaulted ceilings. She had a letter on her chest from her sister. For over three years, her mom had been battling cancer, but it wasn't until now did she finally lose. Lily wasn't crying. She was in shock. She'd rather be sobbing her eyes out right now, though. Things were just way too much. Seriously. I mean, Lily's only not been able to cry once or twice in her life before this. Once when her sister began spreading rumors around that Lily was mentally unstable, and the other time was when she told Severus to leave her the hell alone last year.
But now, she felt like crap for not crying. Her mother was dead, and all she could do was stare at a ceiling reflecting on how she couldn't cry? That wasn't right. She hadn't the foggiest clue as to why, or why she cried often otherwise. However, she couldn't focus on that right then. Because she had many, many other things on her mind. Like... James, for instance.
Yes, Lily was thinking of James. Why on earth was she thinking of that cocky bastard? Maybe it was because recently, she'd begun falling for him. Maybe it was because she just realized he wasn't all that much of a bastard, an asshole, a toerag, or any of those things she'd called him. It was a little of both of them. And lily resented herself for thinking those thoughts. She couldn't fall for him, ever. It just... was inevitable, actually.
So, as her thoughts circulated, she sighed, standing up slowly. She walked down the way into her dorm. There were two rooms, a girl's and a boy's. She went into her Girl's, and grabbed her pajamas. Well, I suppose they could barely be called pajamas, seeing as her tank top was so small it was barely able to be classified as more than a bra. Her long pajama pants were normal, and as were her fuzzy slippers. She allowed her hair down from it's ponytail, and decided to just allow it to hang freely down her back, framing her face slightly. She grabbed her backpack, and returned to the large room. A look of surprise crossed her features as she entered the Head Boy and Girl's Common Room. James was there. "Hello James." she said, now embarrassed at what she was wearing right in front of him of all people.
