Sensen

Sensen is another of our Aussie friends and boy do we love our Aussies! She started out on Pern RPGs during the boredom of holidays and recently reading the Dragonriders of Pern series. It was Evergen Weyr that she first found, like many of us. She found Britten Weyr by stalking Cara and following her here. She fell in love with our story and our inventive characters and has been here ever since. Sensen is also an AMAZING artist and you may see her wonderful whers and chibi dragons gracing the profile pages of our creatures!
Characters: Roush Weyr: A'dair of bronze Michsonth, Synaoi of blue Oneiroith, Et'syn of blue Epiphronth, Zimmer: Kalan of bronze Kalask

A'dair

A'dair is the acerbic rider of bronze Michsonth of Roush Weyr. He enjoys discovering people's strengths and weaknesses, often because he can then use that knowledge against them. He also has an odd tendency to just sort of appear out of thin air next to someone. With the Impression of bronze Michsonth, it is unsure if his personality had improved or if the bronze has just been made into another tool. Played By: Sensen

Michsonth

Michsonth is the startling quick bronze of A'dair. He was the first bronze to Hatch from the first Clutch at Roush Weyr. The bronze is sometimes too quick, both in his actions and his thoughts, acting brashly and without much consideration as to the consequences. He is a bit full of himself and is always careful to make as much of an impression on everyone as he can, showing off the metallic sheen to his hide and his large wingspan at every opportunity. Played By: Sensen

Kalask

Kalask is bonded to the exuberant Kalan, one of Zimmer's female bronzehandlers. Not only is his handler unique, but Kalask is too. He has a third cloudy eyelid that protects his eyes against light, thereby allowing him to venture outside during the sunset and linger out longer during sunrise. It is by some miracle that the bronze has not gotten himself into trouble or worse considering just how far his curiosity goes. Hopefully curiosity does not kill the wher! Add that to his mood swings and he's bound to rub one of the other whers the wrong way some time. This bronze also is a great mimic, copying Kalan's strange animal noises to make sounds that are very close considering they come from a wher's mouth! Played By: Sensen

Weyrs
Most of Britten's weyrs were formed naturally by pockets of magna within the cliffs surrounding the Weyr Bowl. So far, only the bubbles on one peak have entrances chipped out of the cliff face.

Candidate Barracks
The Candidate Barracks are located just above ground-level beneath Weyrleaders' Peak. There is a capacity for 44 female Candidates and 64 male Candidates at a time, each housed in a separate cave.

Weyrling Barracks
The Weyrling Cavern is a single cavern lined with dragon couches and beds for the riders. There can be up to 57 Weyrlings housed in the cavern at one time. Any more than that and the older weyrlings might be misplaced to full riders' weyrs. There are no curtains to separate the rooms, nor any baths at all connected to the cavern. So if your weyrling refuses to stink, they might have to get a little inventive.

Hatching Grounds
Ah, yes, those famous scorching hot sands which bake our dragon eggs into the darling babies that hatch into this world. Britten Weyr's Hatching Sands are far from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the Weyr, tucked away in a corner. There are two little-known weyrs with passageways connecting to the sands for up to two riders with clutching dragons. Hopefully there are never three on the Sands at once!

Inside the Weyr
Roush Weyr has one long tunnel off which everything branches, mostly room by room. There are only a few small tunnels leading off the main tunnel, one of which leads into the belly of the mountain and into the dark, dank abyss.

Weyrs
Roush Weyr has many natural caves that make good weyrs with slight modifications, mostly just the widening of the entrance. However, most of them do not have ledges on which dragons may sun themselves.

Candidate Barracks
There is only room for 70 Candidates at the barracks here compared to Britten's 108. All of the Candidates are housed in one large cave with only thin curtains to separate them. Boys and girls may be situated right next to each other depending on the time of their arrival. Rooms are assigned rather than chosen.

Weyrling Barracks
The Weyrling Barracks at Roush Weyr are much more forgiving than the Candidate Barracks. The cavern is considerably bigger, allowing for 50 weyrlings to be housed at one time. Unlike Britten Weyr, weyrlings are situated in smaller sections, usually four weyrlings per cave, allowing for at least some kind of privacy. These caves branch off the main cavern that acts as a meeting place and oftentimes a classroom.

Hatching Grounds
This cavern is much smaller than that of Britten Weyr, and everyone is constantly on their toes. Why? Well, there is barely room for one clutch, let alone two, so no one wants to know what will happen if two dragons are clutching at the same time.

Main Bowl
The Wherhold is set in a series of underground caves. The Main Bowl was once the largest of these caves, But in ages long past the roof caved in, Opening it to the outside. the area is large enough for several dragons to land at the same time, and it has three sets of stairs for people and whers to enter and leave.

Wher Quarters
A large section of interconnected caves have been set aside exclusively for the whers. Most quarters consist of a single cavern. Three Queens Quarters as well as the Wherling and Candidate Master Quarters have three interconnected caves, consisting of Wher/human Quarters, a bathing room with a natural spring and a workroom.

Hatching Sands
A Cavern large enough to hold two queen whers and their clutches without issues, any more though and there is likely to be fights. This Cavern is naturally heated to the perfect temperature for eggs. A small side cavern provides for a private area for the partners of any Whers on the sands. Two small passages lead to the quarters designated for Queen whers, a third leads to the assembly area.

Candidate Barracks
Candidates live four to a room, in small caves comeing off a single tunnel that forms a U shape with one end coming out in the main bowl and the other in the Assembly area. Rooms are restricted to a single gender, and there is a bathing room at either end of the Tunnel. The female bathing room is nearest the Assembly area, while the male bathing room is nearest the Main bowl.

Moonbow Weyr
No one is allowed to visit Moonbow Weyr, even though it's been nearly ten turns. Reports from traders and runners say that there are few alive at Moonbow Weyr and those who do still live are infected with Cloudlung.

The Craft Complex, the only Crafthall currently on the Southern Continent, is located very close to Moonset Hold and Moonbow Weyr. Because of this, the disease spread rapidly through its people and while the infection has lessened, travel to or from is forbidden.

After Moonset Hold became heavily affected by Cloudlung, the hold was closed off. Forest's Edge was one of two other holds of significant size and wealth and at Lord Ellington's insistance, it was made a Major Hold. This Hold had only a few cases of Cloudlung.

Suggestions/Questions
If you can think of any new forums or information I need to add, please let me know here or by PM. I am usually easy to deal with! If you have any questions about anything in Pern, please ask here and someone will respond. I only ask that if you are responding to a Pern canon question, give a quote. This assures people that you are not making things up and that you can back up your facts. Thank you!
