Not sure if this was previously discussed/already planned/already in, but I thought I'd try anyway. tongue.gif

Would it at all be possible to add some kind of weather effects? They wouldn't have to be very extreme, of course. The ice levels would look good with a light snowfall and maybe a hint of fog. Terra could have rain, Hell could have a meteor shower, and Egypt could have sand storms.

That's a good idea. And it has to be discussed more like how it works and how we want it to be as detail as possible. Then I can decide which part should be in the library and which part should be map-specific.

Agreed, they would look rather nifty. biggrin.gif

As you say, snow would work brilliantly for the Ice world, and I think also the embers (from UTNT's fourth episode, map 1) would be good for Hell. Rain would be good for Castle. I guess it's up to our team of tilesetters if they'd like some for their worlds.

I'd like to keep Terra as it is, as it's meant to be the less visually intrusive introductory world that focuses more on the gameplay mechanics of Blocks II rather than good level design. tongue.gif

carlcyber: You may not have to do much for this, as lots of configurable weather effect resources have already been created for ZDoom. I think Realm667 has quite a few of them. tongue.gif

EDIT: Oh wait, heh, I see what you mean now. Hmm. We should have a look at what effects are available and how they work, then decide how to implement them. Right now, though, I think our priority is getting the new ACS library finished. If possible, we'll address new features along the way, but it might be better if we save 'em for when we're just about done with it. That's not to say we can't still discuss them, though. smile.gif

This definitely gets a thumbs-up from me smile.gif

I was actually thinking of the same thing but I was only thinking in terms of the ice world. Weather would be great for many of the worlds though.

Absolutley. This would add great effect to the worlds, so this idea would be nice.
