Appearance

Hair: Ian has dark brown, shaggy hair that he next to never bothers to brush. Though he does at least keep it clean.
Eye Color: His eyes are hooded with thick lashes and are a light blue color with the faintest hint of sea green.
Height: 5'6"
Defining Marks: Has a couple of little scars on his hands and wrists from not thinking before he a) reached into a rose bush to help a bird, B) smashing through the kitchen window to get in the house, c) slip and sliding in a junk yard (all of the above).
General Appearance: Ian has a sexy, rumpled, ragamuffin look. He has a casually disheveled appearance and looks a little grunge meets boy next door.
Dress Style: Wears jeans or cargo pants and t-shirts with the occasional button up.
Manner of Speech: Speaks in a low, soft, permanently half asleep voice. However his tone is often quick and energetic, in sharp contrast to the rest of him.
Manner of Movement: Moves slowly, with his shoulders slouched and hands in pocket most of the time.

Personality
Overall Personality: Ian is a quirky, strange little individual. He's a combo slacker/trouble maker/ good kid/ computer geek/ skater boy. He's often too smart for his own good, getting bored easily and smarting off often. He's introverted, tending to go off mentally into his own little world.
Character Flaws: He has a bad habit of using humor as a defense, either to distract, disarm, or scare off people. He's emotionally a little fragile and doesn't open up for fear of exposing his weaknesses. He also has a very bad habit of curing boredom with trouble.
Character Abilities He's a very good skateboarder and a complete computer geek. He also had 5 years of piano... not that that means he can play or anything... but he had em.

History
Ian was born late into the relationship of his parents. As a result he related more to his sister, finding his parent rather stodgy, ESPECIALLY his mother. He also had a strained relationship with her due to her demeaning attitude toward his much beloved big sister.
Ian was their failed attempt at normalcy. They sent him to school (a private preparatory one), made him an alter boy, and tried to raise him "proper". It didn't work.
Especially after his fathers death when he was round 8 he started rebelling, smoking weed, in general getting into all sorts of shit.
When he was around ten his mom got really sick and his sister came to care for her as him doing it would be both illegal and unsuccessful.
She passed away a year later, and despite, or perhaps because of, their poor relationship, the loss of his sole remaining parent screwed him up a little. He got into a lot more shit, spent a couple of weeks in juvie, and in general had a long rough patch.
Then his sister wisely uprooted him and started just homeschooling him and traveling with him. For her sake and under threat from the law of being taken away from her, he has tried to start cleaning up his act.
Feeling stability would do him some good (yeah, cause we see how well that worked the first time) she has now settled them down in some little shithole town.
Woo-hoo.

Sample Post He was really, really tired. He curled up into a tight ball, trying to block out the sun. It was shocking how cozy the back seat of a VW could be. He felt the car's gentle rocking come to a halt, heard his sister try to quietly shut the door... three times.

He was pretty sure he heard birds chirping. That was never a good sign. He tried to sleep, succeeding for a bit till Jillie came back to the side window. He looked around, saw all the trappings of crummy podunk life, and cringed.

He asked in his delicate way what they were doing in some shithole town.

She said they were home; he nearly wept.

Laying back down he muttered, "And this is why it's bad, kids, when your sister is you mother."
