I was once in an rpg forum to where one of the more responsible members was givin the oppertunity to cause random events. For ex...

Bob- "I like ice cream." He says as he takes a lick.

Joe-" I do to." he says as he takes a lick too.

Mr. Event- A man suddenly runs by and kicks Joe in the shin.

So then a boring conversation such as ice cream, turns into a hunt for the shin kicker.

It's kind of like how the dogcatcher works, but this is with events.

It worked really well in my other rpg, the only thing you can't do is over use it.

But overall it was a nice comadity and made things unexpected.
