Detailed Physical Description ( 2 paragraphs ):
Standing in at 5' 10” and weighing 160lbs Daniel Robertson is considered a little bit above average height. He has salt and pepper black hair that he keeps short as well as a beard and moustache that he keeps trimmed. His eyes are hazel and his ethnicity is White. Daniel usually wears casual clothing and can be seen wearing a black t-shirt, khaki cargo pants, and a trusty set of black combat boot. He has no formal clothing what-so-ever and hates having to wear a uniform. Daniel always carries a .40 caliber pistol in a shoulder harness as well as combat knife.
Although no athelete Daniel does maintain a daily regimen of working out and staying fit. Many folks who meet Daniel for the first time are shocked to learn how old he is, as he tends to look younger than most folks his age.
Detailed Personality ( 1 – 2 paragraphs ):
Robertson is one of those people who you either like or hate. He can be serious when the situation or job demands it, but when it doesn't he usually is joking, being sarcastic, or horsing around. A trait not normally associated with his age group. Daniel also enjoys reading and can usually be found reading something on the bridge.
Detailed History ( 2 paragraphs ):
Daniel grew up on Bernadette with 2 sisters and an older brother. His father was a freighter pilot and his mother was a stay-at-home mom. Daniel got his first taste of flying at 5 when his dad took him on his routes as a freighter pilot. At age 12 Daniel knew more about flying than most kids did and during the weekends and breaks from school he would acompany his dad on the daily cargo haul. By the time he graduated high school Daniel had amassed thousand of hours behind the controls of his dad's Condor Class Freighter.
Daniel lived and breathed piloting so when at 21 when he entered flight school his parents and siblings knew he'd make an excellent pilot. Apparently so did the instructors, altough there were times were Daniel would show off and scare the crap out of a few of them. They never kicked him out for those stunts, namely because of his grade but also because he was one of the best students they had ( he graduated in the top 2% you know ). In fact to this day Daniel still holds most of the records set at the Bernadette Flight Academy. At 25 Daniel got his first pilot job at Trans Universal and worked as a freighter pilot until Trans Universal went out of business. Since then he's had jobs at TG Freight and Universal Express Delivery. Currently Daniel is unemployed and looking for work.
Strengths ( 1 paragraph ):
Daniel is calm and collected when behind the wheel, nothing fazes him when he's flying ( well maybe Reavers ), he could be reading a magazine while the ship is plummeting to the ground and still be cool as a cucumber. He is also smart when it comes to piloting. Give him access to the bridge of any ship and within a few minutes of looking at the control layout, he'll have that bird doing things you never imagined. All that time behind the wheel has honed his reflexes and his discipline. If you ever needed a pilot who could stop and turn a freighter on a dime or land a med ship in tightly packed dock, then Daniels your man.
Weaknesses ( 1 paragraph ):
Daniel has a hatred for the government types. He can't stand how they can be so greedy and anal, always screwing over the little man to scratch the backs of the rich. He also has a problem with people who think they can fly better than him and think that just because he's old he isn't as quick as he used to. Daniel also has a weakness for the ladies and will always try to put the moves on them whenever possible.
Sample Post ( 3 paragraphs/ Third Person Past Tense ):
The desert landscape whizzed by in a blur, the young man sitting in the copilots seat was wondering just what was going through the pilot's mind. “Shouldn't you turn this shuttle around now? I kinda like to see where we're going and I can't do that with the shuttle flying in reverse!” shouted the younger of the two men, his knuckles where white as he gripped the chair. In the pilot's chair sat a middle aged man, feet resting on the control panel, reading a magazine he said to the young man in a calm tone “You young people these days always impatient and wanting things done right now instead of waiting.” “Well could you please do something beside reading that gorram magazine?” replied the man in the copilot's chair. Daniel flipped through the mag and checked out the center fold “Ooh Miss December I hope you've been naughty.” “Are you even listening to me?” quipped the young man.
Daniel replied while still looking at Miss December “Yeah I'm listening, but all I keep hearing is your bellyaching. What's so important son?” “Well the whole you're not paying attention to anything is one thing that's been running through my mind. And the thought that we might hit something or crashe has occurred to me as well.” said the young man, fear in his voice. “Relax kid I have this thing on auto pilot and if we are about to hit something the proximity alarm will sound.” As if on the cue the proximity alarm sounded and a small thump could be heard. Panicked the young man said “What was that? We just hit something! What was it!” Daniel looked up, saw the remains of a cactus fly by and said “That would be a cactus. I suppose we should stop and give it a proper burial?”
“Are you rutting insane! What if that'd been a large boulder or a building?” screamed the man. Daniel sighed, tossed the magazine behind the seat and said in an annoyed tone “Alright you whiny little brat keep you pants on. I'll turn the ship around although I advise you to hang on. ” “What do you mean hold on?” questioned the young man. Daniel grinned and said “Don't say I warned you kiddo.” Before the younger man could reply, Daniels hands flew across the control panel, disengaging the auto pilot, taking the controls in one hand, and hitting a series of buttons with the other. Daniel turned to the frightened young man and said “Hang on and please don't throw up on the electronics.” The young man tightened his grip on the chair as Daniel threw back the accelerator, hit a button next to it, and turned the control wheel hard to the left . The shuttle's engines stalled as the ship spun around, Daniel hit the button next to the accelerator, and shoved the accelerator to full speed. The shuttle surged forward as the engines went full burn and a trail of dust streamed behind. Daniels took the shuttle back to the bar, looked at the man and said “So you want to go again?” The young man turned to face Daniel, the color gone from his face and said “No that's ok once was enough.” The young man stumbled out of the shuttle, Daniel laughed as the hatched closed and said to himself “That should teach that punk not to mess with this old pilot. Challenging me to see who's best pilot. What a chump.”
