This is Christine's original AV and Sig set from when she was first introduced on the Ares Shield, and only GrimJack and Jonestein knew who she really was. I made the image by taking a picture of Christina Hendricks from another show, giving her a Photoshop haircut and dark sunglasses, and switching the image to B&W to disguise who the actress was. It wasn't revealed that she was Saffron until she met Mal at the Heart Of Gold, where Mal ended up trying to destroy the Lassiter because someone told him Kaylee had been killed, ended up shooting Womack, and Catri was hit by someone's stray round in the resulting fight, which is why Catri and Damian and Shanti ended up on the Ares Shield. A lot of BDV history started from that.

When I brought the character in, my friend Adam was on the BDV, who I'd been gaming with since high school. I didn't think I'd fool him for long on her identity, so since we had both adapted characters from our old Cyberpunk games to the Firefly 'Verse (The Reverend, Marlowe, Syn) I gave Christine the nicknname "Cory" because that was a nickname of a Cyberpunk NPC of mine Adam would remember, which I decided would help fool him by making him assume it was another adapted character. It didn't prove to be needed, because he didn't guess. That's why she has that second name.
