Almost as quickly as it began, it was over. The timely arrival of Mari Green threw the balance of the battle out of proportion. Coupled with Lt Faust’s fiery retribution rained from on high and Mongrel’s misfit gang stood little chance. Hannibal’s heart swelled with pride at the sight of his charges, showing no fear and following orders as they demolished the Egg’s inhabitants. They were certainly rough around the edges and had plenty of distance to travel down the road of redemption; but for now he was proud of what they’d accomplished.

It seems fate has a sense of humor for, despite all their efforts to locate Mr Lawson, he found them instead, crashing down onto Mongrel in a rather humorous fashion. After dispatching the Professor to retrieve their newly recovered comrade, Hannibal let his team dispatch all remaining ‘Hunters.

Just as quickly and efficiently the Vindicator’s children descend into the madness, they withdrew, Lawson in tow. The former convicts fled the Hell their lives had been for so long, running into the warm embrace of freedom and a new mistress. While all knew debts were still owed and would be cashed in, most were simply grateful to be free.

The Vindicator called out to her new children, welcoming them with open arms. Each boarded her depths with a sense of wonder, awe, or excitement. Each had their own room to call home and an occupation that needed doing, but all had some down time to explore their surroundings, get to know each other and get to know the mistress they now served.

As for captain Masters, he retired swiftly to his own chambers. There were plans to be made and transmissions to be sent. A new chapter in both his life, the lives of the crew and that of the Alliance itself was beginning.

AN: All crew have been moved to the Vindicator thread. Feel free to post your thoughts, explore the ship, interact with the crew or just get used to your newfound freedom. After I think it’s gone on for a significant amount of time I’ll wrap up Episode 1! No one was killed in the scuffle with Mongrel’s crew, feel free to add any injuries you see fit.
