Congratulations to the Hippocrates II Commanded by Dr. Chee (Ertia to us here at the BDV)!!!

I’ll leave the majority of the explanation to Ertia, but here are some of the basics.

Ertia’s blurb:

The Hippocrates II is a non-Alliance Search & Rescue craft dispatched from the Medic Academy on Osiris (think the Red Cross with a splash of the marines from Aliens). Her primary mission is research: plagues, terra-forming problems, etc. Secondary mission would be providing aid in emergency situations, rendering medical aid after oh, things like Reaver attacks, mining cave-ins, etc.

So, ya wanna hear more about our new shiP? (I just love the way Simon says shiP, don't you?)

I'm working on graphics now and will hopefully at least have some diagrams up tonight.

A mercy ship, The Hippocrates 2 has no weapons, except for standard tranquilizer guns for veterinary emergencies (Ever tried tranq-ing a sturgeon with fish-fungus?), and any weapons individual amongst the crew. She is liased with MedicAd Osiris, which means some funding from Blue Sun Pharmaceuticals.

Her primary mission is research: plagues, terra-forming problems, etc. Secondary mission would be providing aid in emergency situations, rendering medical aid after oh, things like Reaver attacks, mining cave-ins, etc.

Cargo Space is all given over to Med-Lab-
-Infirmary =
4 exam tables + four curtained 'patient recovery' cubicles

-Clean-Room/Quarantine -
Clean Suits required
Shatter-proofed cubicle/ closed air-source/ 1 exam table, one laboratory counter
Clean room has it's own airlock entry on left side (looking towards nose)

-Laboratory- One autopsy table, one table w/microscopes, spectrometer equip. etc.

-Hydroponics section- Genetically engineered plants that produce medications; towards the back, near the engines (likes heat)


Engine room: Two story bail with ladder access on either side.
Tydus, I'm working on engine plans and will get those to you asap.


Additional Equipment:
-Two small shuttles= Dolphin 1 & 2
-One two-man hover-mule with ambulance stretcher attacment
- Two Inflatable Emergency Hospital Structures that can be deployed if necessary.

There should be extending feet in front and back, under the bracers, and there are two jet thrust-engines under each wing.

There are airlocks on both sides near wings, and one large cargo-bay entrance beneath the bridge.

There's a crawl space between decks that runs the length of the ship, app 32" high- coolent tubes, electrical systems, avionics, etc.


Anybody have any suggestions, or is handier with graphics than me, PLEASE jump in here. B)

The graphics may not look great, but they're functional. Also, I claim one of the upper deck DL rooms next to the engine room-the quicker, the better.

Thank you, Marcus, and yes, I was.

She's kind of part the rescue ship that we see in Serenity, and part "The Brutus" from the pilot, (Only sleeker and newer, of course. ;) I wanted the size of The Brutus, but I wanted her to hail back to earlier R&R ships somewhat.

What makes her go:
(Ask Tydus, folks! If it doesn't have a heart, lungs, and a nervous system, it's not my ballywick. :D )

2 main engines- not exactly small;
Engines are Class A, BlueTech Model T434-10-C

2 propulsion engines for liftoff and navigation under the wings

:: Infirmary Features ::
- Exam Tables use magnetic floor locks- can be moved where-ever necessary.
- Curtained recovery stalls include: O2: VF (vital function) Moniters: IV:
- Every piece of medical diagnostic equipment known to man is in this room
(Yes, we have a 3-D spectral analyzer. Eat your heart out, Simon!)


:: Clean Room Features ::
-Can be completely sealed off from the rest of the ship- own air source.
-Door is Clean-Seal Decon Environment
-Outer airlock to bring contaminated materials onboard without risking the ship.
-Sealed Workstation includes electron microscope, spectrometer, gene-splicer, DNA Reader/Analyzer
-Front from door to cargo-area wall -full length *unbreakable* plexi-shield window.
-Central observation chamber-airtight, externally vented, can be turned to vacuum environnment.

:: Med-Lab Features ::
-Microscopes: Light & Electron
-Spectral analyzer
-Gene splicer
- Autoclave/Sterilizer
- Full autopsy set-up.

- Two tanks for altered algae growth & development
- Ceiling high "soil" racks for germanating medicinal plants.
