We actually do something called Role-Playing here.

For those of you who know me from...other places, here are a few notes:

If you have played with me before...somewhere else, you needn't formally apply. Simply notify me that you want your old character and it's yours. When you have time, post an application strictly as a reference for others.

Returning CANON Characters...let me know you want your canon, and I will assign you the User Name and temp Password.

We are almost ready to go live, but I couldn't wait any longer. I thought I was going to lose my chance to invite you guys...to the good side.

Don't mind the mess. We will be RPing within the week!

WELCOME NEWCOMERS TO THE BIG DAMN 'VERSE!

The BDV is a play-by-post role-playing narrative based on the characters of the television show Firefly and the movie Serenity (although the story takes place after the series and the events of the movie may or may not apply here).

Canon Characters (those from the series and movie) are still available. Contact one of the Admins (GrimJack or Ertia) to reserve your character and begin the application process.

Original Characters are welcomed and encouraged! We currently have SEVERAL active ships in the BDV.


Kasern: A former Independent drop-ship refitted for cargo, she carries a mottly crew always on the search for a new job while trying to pay off their debts. Renegades, rebels and rogues are always welcome! (Contact Ertia and Zira)

The Atillian is a bad bad ship. Captained by Rahl, she's designed for those with lesser morals (or those with no morals whatsoever), who like to move outside of the stricter interpretations of the Law. Contact Jax Malone if you're lookin' to be bad!

The Shangren. Oh, dear. The Shangren. IF you thought Tilly was bad, wait until you meet The Shangren! Captained by Eleanor Lee, she's out to do one thing. Survive. If you sense imminent violence, it's probably Shangren. Contact Oath or DrPain if you're interested.

The IAV Ranjit is an Alliance Deep Rim Patrol Ship. With the Ares Shield winding down... or rather keying to blow... we thought we'd give those who'd like a chance to play Alliance characters a place to play. She's a bit lax in the regs department, and sports a motley crew from hardfast soldiers to former beat-cops. Contact Synthia Lyndon Heller or Ertia if you're interested.

Route 66: Route 66 is a space station orbital. Bar, restaurant, hotel: The last taste of real civilization before the Rim. Stop in and enjoy a shot of Kix whiskey, enjoy some tasty jazz, and Contact Jeth Riddle about making your stay a permanent one!

The Sherwood: She's Brown. She's as brown as they come, but she hides it under red, yellow, blue, purple, and orange! Part traveling circus, part underground Browncoat freedom fighter, and part Robin Hood, she takes from the Rich and gives to the poor in the name of Independence! Contact DrPain or Ertia.


The Bella Starr is a Luxury Starliner. Don't have alot of time to devote to particular ship or story-line, but still want to get some action in? The Bella Starr carries all sorts and has room for all kinds of tale-telling, with the best and worst of the 'Verse at it's disposal. Contact any of the Admin Team. She's moved to NPC Status, but she can still act as a repository for slow-post characters. (and I heard a rumor that Ertia is gonna give her a nanovirus! Won't that be FUN?)

All in all we want to make the BDV a safe-haven for all Browncoats. Whether you want to role-play or not, we would love to have you come aboard and keep the 'Verse alive.

Joss took us out into the Black...and we have no intention of ever comin' back!

Getting the Most Out of the BDV:Some Tips for New Players

Everyone is here to have fun! :) For maximum fun, here's a few tips to make your time here the best it can be.


1: Get your characters interacting with other characters. You'll get more play if you interact with other players. Walk up and say Hi. Ask a question. Get involved. The more involved your characters are, the more fun you'll have!

2: This may seem really obvious, but post. Post whenever you have the chance. If your character is tied up waiting for others to post, try some of the In Character threads (there is ALWAYS a Party going on), or in the shoutbox, or write a "Good Myth". These things not only help you stay involved and in-touch with your character, but also helps get other players get interested.

3: Communicate with your thread moderator! If you have ideas or suggestions for what you'd like to have happen with your character or concepts you'd like to explore, let your mod know.

4: Be patient. :) Often we start a whole season of episodes with a tight over-arch. It may be an episode or two before we can work in your ideas. (A hint: If a moderator goes out of their way to rewrite an arch for you, play it out! Putting a lot of work into a storyline (or character or ship), that a player then drops doesn't make us very willing to work on your next request.)

5: Have Fun. If you aren't having fun, let your thread mod know and tell them what's wrong. This is your board, too, and we want everyone to be really enjoying themselves! :)
