What BDV ship/location do want to be assigned to: Route 66
Character Name: Draven Raedwolf
Character Occupation: Gun-hand and enthusiast
Gender: Male
Age (the character, not the actor/actress): 36
Detailed Physical Description (2 PARAGRAPHS): Draven stands about six feet and three inches tall. His hair is blonde, has a slight wave to it, and is long enough to just brush his shoulders. His eyes, which is perhaps the best part of his facial features, is a wonderful ice blue color. They seem to have a glimmer to them that matches his open and bright personality. His skin is a medium shade of tan that seems to have a bit of a weather worn look to it, suggesting that through childhood on up to his adult years, he had spent a lot of time outdoors. Draven’s wide, toothy grin is most commonly described as being a bit childish in both look and feel and is just as good a show of his personality as his eyes are.
He is often seen in simple clothing, preferring earthy colors such as browns and greens, as well as grey hues. However, despite what ever his attire preference may be, his parents make damn sure that he always has at least two decent changes of cloths. Along with that, he never goes anywhere without at least two guns on him; usually more and every week the types are different. Draven always makes sure that he has enough ammo to go with his guns and has a large storage of books and magazines to go with his supply of firearms.
Detailed Personality (2 PARAGRAPHS): Draven Raedwolf is one of those easy going type of guys; preferring those lazy types of days to ones that are more busy. He is relatively hard to anger and his patience seems to be just about limitless. Although he spent quite a few years working for the Alliance, he is a very neutral character; not preferring one side over the other. In fact, he actually sees good points from both the Alliance and Independents. His basic philosophy on this subject, ‘Keep the good points that work on both sides then throw away the rest… There ya go.’ He is also a rather fun loving guy with a vast sense of humor. However, it's this part of him that can cause a bit of trouble. This is because he ends up coming off as a bit immature. Along with his sense of humor, Draven's flirtatious manor can often cause trouble for the fun guy. It doesn't appear as if he has any specific type of girl he likes being as he is often seen flirting with all ages and sizes.
Despite Draven's outgoing personality, he actually does know how to become serious when the time calls for it. Granted, sometimes this seriousness comes a bit late, but it still shows up. He will fight to the ends of the earth for any friend, or to just show off his skills to any lady that‘s caught his eye. However, there is a little bit of jealousy in him, mostly for the fact that unlike many he never got to know who his real parents were. This bit of jealousy is watered down by the fact that his adoptive parents were very good to him, but it somehow just doesn’t seem to be the same as biological parents.
Detailed History(2 OR MORE PARAGRAPHS): There really isn't much to Draven's past. First off, he grew up as an orphan on Paquin. This wasn't due to a parent not wanting their child, but for the fact that both his parents are deceased. His father passed away in a fight gone bad before his mother had the chance to tell him about her pregnancy, and she died during child birth. He was moved from foster home to foster home due to 'bad behavior'. It wasn't so much that he was an absolutely terrible child, but that he was very strong willed and playful.
It wasn’t until about the age of thirteen that he became adopted by a couple living on Londinium, even though this happens very rarely for kids his age. The family was quite nice and caring; and above all, very patient. Which they had to be just to handle the out-of-control child they had just adopted. Draven was sent home for fighting in school more times than a kid should ever have to admit, and each time, he waited for them to turn their backs on him and leave as so many others had done. But each time, the adopted parents just shook their heads sadly, and tried talking to him. Eventually, in the span of a couple of years, the young teen began to settle down, realizing his new family had meant to go through to the very end with him; that they were just as determined and strong-willed as he was. It was through them that his troubled demeanor began to change into a more calm and relaxed one. They taught him the value of patience and rational thinking which will help him many times in the future.
Though Draven had learned very well how to control the temper that had caused him so much trouble in the past, he began to realize that he couldn’t quite keep it in all the time. So, he decided that he needed some kind of release so as not to risk beating the snot out of some (insert Chinese jargon here). His attention became diverted to guns and everything that went with them at the age of eighteen. In the span of a few years he became very skilled in the arts of cleaning, repairing, and handling firearms. Good enough, in fact, that he landed himself a job with the Alliance’s Weapon Research and Development at twenty-two years of age. He loved his job and worked hard at it for the next thirteen years before he felt the need to get out and gain experience elsewhere. So he left, and eventually found himself on the 66 where he felt immediately at home and comfortable. He has stayed here for the past year or so.
Strengths (1 paragraph): Draven is very easy to get along with. This may be due to his easy going aura, or perhaps just the fact that he is a people person. But which ever it may be, it makes him great at gathering information from others. His sense of humor and child-like attitude can tend to liven up any dreary situation by diverting other's attention from the hardships that lay ahead of them, even if only for a few short minutes. He has a strong sense of duty and determination to see things through to it’s conclusion; not liking to leave things go unfinished.
Weaknesses (1 paragraph): Though his humor and general attitude can be a strength, it is also a weakness. There are those times when he doesn't know when enough is enough. Especially when it comes to his flirtatiousness. He finds himself in trouble with the ladies quite often due to this little factor. Every once in a great while, his temper can get away with him, which has been known to cause a lot of problems, but it usually doesn’t take him long to regain his self control in these few situations. Though he is very much the people person and he loves his adopted parents very much, Draven tends to hold just a little bit of resentment towards his dead parents. This is mostly because, like many orphans, he blames them for not being there as he was growing up. This little bit of resentment continues on to the small bit of jealousy he shows now and then towards others who seem to take the fact that they have parents for granted.
Sample Post: (3 paragraphs minimum/Third Person Past Tense): Please use the Big Damn Verse Styling Guide to format your post.”Did you forget something?” His mother stood in the main hallway with arms crossed and a slim eyebrow raised.
”Aw, Ma. You know I would never leave without giving my stunning and gorgeous mother a hug and kiss. What kind of man would I be if I did?” Draven beamed a smile at the aging woman before him as he wrapped his arms tightly around her.
”I want you to be careful, son. There’s no telling what kind of people are out there. I don’t want to get a call telling me to start setting up a funeral.” As any mother watching her son leave home, tears welled up in the corners of her eyes.
”Now, now, hun. Don’t give the boy a hard time. He’s a man and can take care of himself. Besides, it’s not like he’s leaving home, he’s already done that. What is going to happen to your apartment, anyway, son?” His father tried to make light of the matter as he winked a green eye in Draven’s direction.
The tall blonde man chuckled and returned the wink.
”I’m giving it over to a friend from work. He’s promised to take care of it for me, but that is still to be determined. Not exactly the best at keeping his word, but still a decent guy.” He shrugged at this before continuing on, pushing his mother away with gentle hands while flashing her one of his big, toothy grins,
”Ma… Don’t worry about me so much. I’m responsible enough. Promise! And you know I’ll make sure to let you know where I end up.””Well… Well I just can’t help but worry about you. You are my baby, after all! I just still can’t understand why you would leave your job. You were so good at it! And it paid well. I still wish you’d go to a doctor and get your head checked.””We’ve been over this already! Nothing is wrong with my head. I just need a break from everything. See what’s out there to see.” Draven sighed in slight exasperation. Sometimes his mother could go completely overboard. And this was one of those times.
”Look, Ma. I have to go or I’ll be late. I love you.”He gave his mother a quick gentle hug and kiss on the cheek, then moved over to say goodbye to his father who smiled at him knowingly. In situations like this, Draven learned that it never hurt to tell his mother a little white lie. Actually, it was usually best to do so. His father, on the other hand, was always very understanding, so he was usually in the know. Like now. Draven was in no way in danger of being late for his flight. In fact, he wasn’t scheduled to be there for another two hours. Did this make him a bad person, lying as he did? His father didn’t think so, and neither did Draven, it just helped things go that much smoother.
Draven, by all means, understood why his mother didn’t approve of his new life choice. He hadn’t been off world since they had adopted him so many years ago and he
was leaving a stable and good job to chase after… Well, he didn’t quite know about that part just yet. He’d figure it out sooner or later. A light hearted chuckle came from the blonde man when he suddenly thought of whatever it was he was looking for hitting him right in the face. That’s the way it would probably happen. Either way, once Draven reached the hub-bub of the city, he took in a deep breath and smiled,
”Bring on the ladies!”
