Title: Favorite Shepherd Book Moment/Line
Description: In honor of Ron G's July 10 Birthday
Malcolm Reynolds - July 13, 2006 09:19 PM (GMT)
Ok, this is a belated by a couple of days, but better late than never. I'm going to try to post one of these whenever a cast member has a birthday.
Choose two favorites from the list, and if you want, add a reply with other moments/lines you like or other things about the good Shepherd you'd like to share.
[Edit:] There are far too many choices to reasonably list in a poll, the ones in the list just came to mind while I built the poll. Choose two you like from the list, even if they aren't your favs, then share your favorite one(s) with us via the reply.
Enjoy,
-Mal

Hard to pick just two Shephard Book moments, he had so many great ones. I ended up going for the crazy hair and River "fixing" his Bible, but I also loved the kneecaps line and the special hell.
You planning to put up polls for every character eventually?

I'll post 'em when a cast member has a birthday, possibly more often since there are so many great moments for each character. The moments I threw up there for Book were just exceptional ones that came to mind.
Next one will be for River. Summer Glau's birthday is July 24.

Two that come to mind are both from Objects in Space
"I don't give a hump if you're innocent or not."
and
"That's not a shepherd."
Book (like every other crew member :) ) is one of my favorites, so I couldn't live with myself, if I didn't bring up...
"I don't care what you believe...just believe!"
I love you old Shepherd.

The hair bit makes me die of laughter every time. It's gotta be the best Book moment, at least from the series that is.

I chose River's Bible moment, just because it's one of the few times when you see him really at a loss for what to do about it.
But I think my favorite Book moments are when he's interacting with Jayne, the "Might we all want to step back a bit before he opens that", "Oh, that will be taken into consideration."

Definately when he breaks down and the whore has to comfort him. It shows how far his world has twisted in on itself, and the only time where he is emotionally out of control. When he was shot he seemed ready for what happens for better or worse, and only mentioned the Ident. at the last moment, as if he had no plans on using it. Only when the crew showed how far they would go for him did he reveal it.
Then again, he might have been a bit delusional, and thats cool. :)

I picked special... on account of I always considered the hair bit more of a river moment than a book one.

Definitely the hair, followed directly by the "special hell" lecture

It’s all about the kneecaps followed by the hair.
