Hey guys (: I used to use GIMP but my daddy, whom i love oh-so much, bought me PS CS4 extended <3 And I'm having trouble trying to figure it out. The problem now is, you know the free select tool in GIMP? Is there one in PS? Besides the magnetic one. Any others?

Well I don't know how GIMP works and which tools it has =P But Photoshop does have enough selection tools. Just rightclick on the selectiontools in the menu and you'll get a submenu with selection tools.
I hope this helps? If you want to I can make some screenshots or something?

Oh thanks Carlien, but I just tried that out and I really don't know which one. So if you're up to it, screen shots would be perfect <3 Take your time, though.
