Sam sighed as she got in line for food, she hated eating Vella’s food but only came today for one reason. No it wasn’t too eat, it was too met up with her friend she made in the Courtyard yesterday.

Leon was his name, she thought as him as her only friend at Saint Vella. Sam knew he’d probably be the only friend she would make her, but that didn’t matter to her. One friend is better than none.

After Sam got her tray full of food, her eyes scanned the room for him. At a empty table near the back of the Cafeteria she saw Leon sitting there. She walked over and smiled when she stopped in front of the empty table, “You mind if I sit here?” she asked with a small smile.

Leon woke up in a mood that morning. The doctors asked him to show his powers, apparently they had caught it in tape. Not a good thing to ask him, especially since they threatened him with cutting off all socialization. Eventually he showed them, and after a lot of debate, they decided to leave him in medium-risk due to his control over his "disease".

As soon as he got to the cafeteria, he merely grabbed an apple, a banana, and orange juice. He cursed silently, his temper being tested as someone tried to sit down.

His eyes were turning an amber color, and he looked up to see Sam sitting down. Leon calmed down and sighed, smiling at her. "Hey Sam...Sorry if I disturbed you."

Leon took a bite of his apple. He had to admit the food was good here, but it never really compared to the food his mom used to make. He had to admit, he missed his family, but mostly just his mom. He looked at his bracelet, and closed his eyes and bit another piece off of his apple.

Sam smiled slightly, sensing something wrong with Leon. She sat down across from him, "What's wrong...?" she asked quietly.

She always could sense when something was wrong with someone, Sam sighed and looked at her tray, not at all interested in the food. She looked back at Leon hoping he'd answer the question. Sam was hoping it was nothing serious, but she knew that probably was the case.

Leon sighed and looked over at Sam as he finished his apple, now opening his orange juice and taking a sip of it.

"They caught me on camera using my powers, so I had to show the doctors what I could do. They thought about putting me in the high-risk section of the rooms, but since I showed such self-control, I was allowed to stay."

Leon thought that was a good enough explanation, no need to fill her in in the socialization cut-off part. They obviously knew he only had Sam to talk to, since they monitor the patients frequently. The hospital was plain torture, exploiting every chance they could to "study" their subjects better.

Sam looked down, "Oh..." she muttered. She sighed, 'This is all YOUR fault!' her mind screamed angrily at herself.

Sam looked up at Leon with sorrow in her eyes, "I’m sorry..." She muttered, Sam felt as if she screwed up. Which she did, but she had no idea of how to fix it. She sighed, thinking about she almost made him go to the high-risk level, at least he's on the medium risk level instead of high. She thought quietly too herself. Sam was still very angry at herself, but tried with all her will too stop it from showing. Anyone who had the sense could tell she was pissed.

Leon looked over at her, she seemed to be taking it pretty badly. But why should she? It's not her fault, she didn't do anything. After all, Leon was the one that asked if she wanted to see, since he knew she wouldn't outright ask him.

"Look Sam...It's ok. It's my fault, don't worry about it ok? I'm still here."

Leon instinctively reached for her hand and grabbed while he talked, mostly because his mom always used to do the same thing to him when he was angry or upset. Leon knew that he had to do something about this hospital, anything at all. He wanted Sam out of here, but it seemed the only way to do that was...breaking out.

Sam sighed and looked down at their hands. She was still pissed off, and what she wanted too do right now was to kill the nearest Doctor and blow up the whole place. But, she couldn't do that, which made her more pissed.

Sam slowly let go of Leon's hand and put her head on the table and covered it with both arms. She sighed, trying to calm herself. But, in this place that was impossible.

Leon looked at her, and regretted having told her anything at all. She was mad now, and it was because of him. 'Way to go, you dolt.' Leon thought to himself, finishing his orange juice and throwing the rest away in the trash.

"Sam, it's ok. I'm still here aren't I? I'm not going anywhere..."

'Maybe you will though' Leon thought to himself, beginning to think it was best if he did try to escape. If he died, well...that was that. But he could get Sam out.

"Come on Sam, cheer up...Eat some food. You need to keep up your strength.."

Sam took on a totally different personality, "I’m not fucking hungry..." she muttered angrily. She got up and threw her whole tray of food in the trash... including the tray.

Sam walked back and sat down at the table with arms crossed. It was if she was almost pouting, but she wasn't.

She slammed her head into the table and just kept it where it landed, "I’m sorry for acting like this... " she muttered too herself and Leon.

Leon looked at her and sighed. She sure was different than yesterday, but at least she decided to apologize. Leon stood up from the table and went over to the line, getting an apple for Sam and handing it to her when he got back.

"At least try the fruit, it's actually good here." Leon whispered, taking his seat next to her and leaning towards her so she would take the apple.

Sam smiled, "Thank you..." She muttered, totally acting in a better mood than she was in a second ago. (Back to normal I guess XD)

She smiled at Leon, and took the apple. Sam then took a bite, it tasted better than last time she remembered. Sam hoped her mood swing hadn't offended Leon. She smiled again and took another bite happily, she was still angry. But, she kept the true feelings astray and hidden. She was at least a bit happy that she could see Leon.

Leon smiled, glad that whatever had just happened was over and done with. He still felt a little bad that he caused her to get so mad, so he wanted to find a way to apologize to her.

"So..." Leon asked, not knowing what to exactly say. Unfortunately, words weren't really his strongpoint, and neither was apologizing.

He looked around the cafeteria, wondering what everybody's story was, not that he'd care to find out himself, although he wouldn't object to someone coming up and talk. But he rather have Sam to talk to than anyone else.

Sam sighed and watched as he looked around, "So.... seems pretty sunny outside..." she muttered randomly.
She looked at Leon with pain in her eyes.

She sighed, feeling she was starting to bore Leon. Sam looked down and took another bite out of her apple.

Leon looked at Sam. smiling brightly. "Well...yeah, it is sunny outside." Leon pondered, wondering how alot of heat would affect his powers. Maybe it would be best if he stayed inside today, it seemed completely sweltering out there.

"Hey Sam, you mind if we stay inside for the day? I don't think the weather today would...help me with my powers you know?"

Leon tried a smile, but it didn't really work. He was somewhat nervous around Sam all of a sudden.

Sam nodded understanding, "Sure..." she muttered. She twitched a bit, she was getting sudden chills up and down her body.

She decided to ignore it and tried to focus on something else. She pursed her lips and shivered a bit. 'What's going on with you today?' she asked herself in her mind quietly. She shivered again. Sam shook her head and looked at Leon.
