Dear Stranger,

What makes you the person that you are? What goes into the creation of a woman or a man? Is it the secrets they keep; be they their own or those of others? The things that bother them, that make them want to give a resounding “fuck you”? Maybe it’s the apologies they never got the chance to say? Is it the fears that they hide? Could it be their desires and dreams, be it ones they still strive towards or those they gave up long ago? Or maybe Perhaps It’s the things they regret? I bet it’s a combination of them all. Hi, my name is Abigail Keenan, and I’m an art student here at Bridgewater State University with a dream. I want to help people let go, to realize what makes them who they are, so that maybe they can remember and become the person they used to want to be, and I want to help them feel better in the process. In short I want to make you think. To do this I need your help, and I hope you’re willing to give it, I need you to tell me (anonymously of course) your secrets, the things you’ve want to say “fuck you” to people for, the apologies you’ve always wanted to say but have been too scared or ashamed to confess or that you just never got the chance to say, your fears, your desires and dreams (both those you still hold on to and those you gave up on), and the things that you regret. A lot of you may ask what you get out of this; well maybe you’ll get a chance to let go of the burdens you’ve been carrying by sharing them with me, maybe you’ll get to remember a funny memory, maybe you’ll remember who you used to want to be and decide to strive for it again, or just maybe you’ll realize how far you’ve come and take the opportunity to be proud of yourself. Plus you’ll get the satisfaction of helping an art student accomplish her dream. A lot of you will also wonder what I intend to do with all the things I’m trying to convince you to share with me, well I’m going to build people out of them, I’ll first build a life size figure at an age and in a pose that is representative of subject matter and then cover them in what people have submitted for that particular area. For the secrets two people, one whispering a secret in the others ear, for the “fuck you”s a person displaying two middle fingers proudly, for the apologies a person with uncomfortable body language and their face looking down, for the fears a scared little kid with their eyes covered, for the dreams and desires a young, proud, confident child (the age we were all going to change the world at), and lastly for your regrets a worn down old man (the age people often develop regrets too late for the things they never did in their youth).
