Having accompanied Wes to the Hyperion for business as usual, Fred accidentally wanders into anything but as she perceives what she can only guess to be a romantic interlude -- but which in fact, turns out to be even more awkward, a cross-dimensional and time family reunion.

Tara decides to go to the desert at night, in order to try some new ideas to ensoul Angelus. Unfortunately, the vampire follows her and tricks her into believing that her spells worked and he has a soul again. The vampire ends up killing Tara but, right before dying, she realizes how to break the Muo Ping and release the soul into the ether.

Still, with all of time and space at her feet, she finds that no matter where she, and her new companion, Pancakes, travel, there is something missing, something that calls to her, and after weighing the consequences, she dares chance to return to the world that she had left behind, seeking out the resurrected Wesley in the offices of Angel Investigations at the Hyperion Hotel in Los Angeles to attempt a reconciliation, or at least an attempt to make peace, before she moves on.
