Slytherin has had a common misconception of having ambitious, sly, and cunningly charming people amongst the house. With the likes of Damien Wood, he is better off being a Gryffindor, even though he's not as couragous and daring as most people think he is. However, he has a kindness and an out going personality probably stronger than all the Slytherins combined. His skill on a broom is also stellar, and in the end, anyone is fortunate when they meet Damian Wood. After all, who can go wrong with a teddy bear like him?

Applying
  • Our site rating is PG-13 - R.
  • Make sure to register with your character's first and last name. In doing so, your name would look like, "Sally Johnson". Proper spelling and punctuation is also good!
  • When submitting your application, please format it "LASTNAME, First Middle" for the title, and then "Played By: Your Name" for the subtitle.
  • Remember, this is an OC site, so there shouldnt be any canons :]
  • We're potterverse. This means that there will be no characters accepted of a species that was not in the books, including those species you create yourself. we're sure they're wonderful species though ^-^
  • Characters that have a learning disability or is otherwise mentally disabled are a special case. We do allow physical disabilities...However, we strongly suggest you include a reason for this ahead of time before posting your application if you plan to give your character a learning/mental disability. Learning disabilities are hard to play out, so we'd like to know ahead of time to just keep things in check =]
  • Try to limit your characters to 4 different characters; and only 2 teachers per roleplayer. Also! Please wait a week before deciding to make a new character as well <3
  • House placement is a final decision that belongs to the adminstrators. Please do not beg to be put into a certain house. We will take into consideration your preferences, but Admins have the last say. PM the administrators your concerns regarding the placement as long as you do so in a mature and proper manner.
  • If you do not understand something within the application, do not hesistate to ask in either the F.A.Qs or through a PM to an admin! We don't bite! ^-^
Posting
  • Here at Back To The Basics, we require at least 2-3 well written paragraphs per post. If the time is taken, it really isn't too difficult after a while. The beauty of writing is that there's always something to write. <3 Also, we would also like you to spell check your posts to keep things readable. :]
  • This is a non-linear site. That means that your characters may have more than one plot going on at one time, but we would recommend you keeping track of when each thread occured mentally or with a plot tracker.
  • If life gets hectic, please communicate with those on this site so we can know you're not just becoming inactive. You can do this by posting the hiatus section or PMing the Administrators. As for basic activity, a post per week is recommended as a minimum if there's no notice.
  • Activity checks occur from once in a while, so posting in those will be vital to your stay. We'll try our best to warn you though, but try to just look around just in case ^-^
  • Writing in a word document will prevent grammer and spelling errors ^-^ It's not necessarily a rule, but a suggestion!
  • There will be no Mary-Sue/Gary-Stus here. No one is perfect - everyone has a weakness; everyone has a strength. Your characters should reflect this.
  • Please don't god-mod. It's just rude and people don't like it when it happens.
Images
  • Your graphics should not have explicit content .
  • Your avatar and signature should use a celebrity/model - no random pics of normal people. Don't forget to claim in the claim thread for organization. =D
  • No two characters are permitted to have the same celebrity as their play-by. The only exception to this rule is are identical twins.
  • Do not claim a celebrity from the Harry Potter movies, remember, this is an OC site.
  • Avatars should be no larger than 150x150 and Signatures should be no larger than 500x300 or up to two rows of three icons 150x150 each.
  • You may have text and links in your signature to other parts of the board. Do NOT advertise though.
Conduct
  • We ask that roleplayers please be civil to each other in and out of character conversations. Fighting will not be tolerated in the Cbox nor will it be tolerated in OC threads. If theres a certain disagreement, please dispute it through private messages or report the problem to one of the adminstrators.
  • Please do not bash on other players in the cbox or OC threads. It's rude and childish.
