Name: Eöl Sîrfalas of the House of Moon (first house)

Race: Elf

Occupation: Head of the First House and King of Tyian

Weapon: Four silver rings (one for each elemental power), Elfish sword and matching dagger – silver and steel blades.

Appearance –He is considered handsome among elves, with striking green eyes and black hair that he wears typically long and simply tied. He is slightly taller then average but by no means a giant of his race. He has a scar above his right eye that he gained during a battle before he came to the throne.

While in the Palace he wears comfortable, but smart breeches and tailored shirts usually of ‘earthy’ colours such as green, brown and black. He only wears more colourful clothes on special occasions. When he is outside the palace, and practically outside the city, he wears cloths similar to his guards but his uniform is distinctly coloured rich green and silver. He wears a leather jacket that makes up the only real armour that the elves wear.

He has a crown, but rarely wears it. He does wear a large moon-shaped broach, his four elemental rings on his left hand and a ring with his royal seal on it on his right.

As with all elves, his looks do not truthfully tell his age. A human would guess he is in his early to mid forties. He is in fact 402 years old.

Abilities: Like all elves he has the ability to communicate with nature and the creatures within it. His rings magnify this power though he is of strong to moderate in magical strength anyway. He can see very clearly in the dark (more then is normal for his race) and he has the ability to determine when someone is lying to him.

Outside of magical abilities he has been trained well with his sword, bow and arrow and staff as all sons of the House of Moon are from childhood.

Weaknesses: He has a fear of fire that he has had since childhood (see biography). He is strong-minded but can be easily influenced by his father’s ‘friends’ due to his constant worry that his dead brother (who should have been king) would have done a better job then him. He worries about not having an heir, but keeps his worries locked away for his wife’s sake.

Biography

Eöl was the second child of the King and Queen of Tyian and was raised in the tradition of his house as a prince but one who was not expected to ever take the throne. He was trained in the arts of war, but never excelled as his elder brother did.

When he was ten years old he had been sent to get some paper from a cellar storage room. While there he had dropped a lamp and had almost died in the flames. Though he was not hurt he carries a fear of fire to this day.

He went into service in the King’s Guards and played an important part in the battles that were fought during that time. In one battle he received a nasty head wound (for which he still carries the scar) and was taken to the Royal Infirmary. It was here that he met, and fell in love with, Nienna of the House of Stone. They married two years later.

His brother was killed during a fierce battle with the Maelor Mor leaving Eöl the heir to the throne. He had always felt second best to his elder brother and now feels a great weight to live up to his expectations. His father died when he was two hundred and ninety three years old.

Soon after that Nienna was with child. The King had always travelled around his kingdom, and Nienna wanted to be with him as much as possible, so she carried on travelling with him for the early part of her pregnancy. It was on the way back to the capital that her travelling party was attacked, and she was injured. The baby was lost and she will never be able to have a child. He blames himself that her travelling party was attacked and that he had not given them enough guards to defend themselves

He worries constantly that he is not the King that his people deserve and tries to make up for this by travelling around so the people can see him. He listens closely to his advisers, most of who were part of his father’s council. He is bitter that his crown is to pass out of the House of Moon and wants to keep his wife away from danger as much as possible.
