!!! [color=green]Obsessive Compulsive Disorder[/color], What are Some of Your Quirks?

Okay, you don't necessarily have to have OCD to be a part of this convo, I just thought it'd be cool to share some personality quirks with eachother. You know, stuff that we always do the same way, or you feel has to be done a certain way.

For Example!

I have to know exactly where all my pens are when I'm at work. I have a black biro, two blue ballpoints (one clear body, the other solid blue), a red clicky pen and a blue fineliner; I have to know where they are at all times. But thats prolly coz Chris (foreman/head mechanic) tends to take them back to the workshop and not bring them back lol.

And I always have a cup of Lipton's chamomile tea before bed. the proceedure is usually, boil kettle, put in two and a bit sugars, rip the paper bag open from right to left, pull out the tag from left to right, leave to steep while I get my jammies on, then go get nice hot tea, lol.



Whats something you do everyday or like to have done a particular way?

curtins in my house MUST be closed at 6 pm, and 7 pm when day light sayings time is on, other wise I loose my mind .... it's a bit odd!

When I have a pen in my hand and I hear random insignificant words or phrases I HAVE to write them. Sometimes I write all over my legs just random crap. If I don't have a pen I trace the words with my finger over and over until I forget or until I have a pen or a computer to type the words on.

It's hard to explain .. but yeah, it's weird.

I also have an obsession with having things centered and symetrical (sp?), like my pencil case and books at school, they have to be arranged in size with my pencil case on top with my books all stacked neatly centered on my desk ...

I just randomly start counting things like steps, a beat or how many times something is banging. I tried to stop myself counting my own steps yesterday but I couldn't! I had to stop walking and try to clear my mind! That didn't work so I had to go find something to keep my brain away from counting (I watched "Sorority Boys" for the millionth time this week! ) lol!

Ok, I go through phases of loving bands... for a year at a time. First it was Metallica, then Guns n Roses now INXS. These are my three favourite bands, in order... but when I have these love phases, I MUST listen for 5 of their songs per day at least. So for a year I listened to at least 5 Metallica songs per day, then GUns n Roses the next year and INXS now, and I can't help it! If I don't listen to them, I get really depressed sort of thing, like listening to them is my alone time where I think about stuff. Without doing this I'd be a menatl case I swear lol.

When I'm bored sometimes I start to tap my fingers. And then I get asked to stop because its annoying.

And I can't sit on a chair properly. I sit on it as if I'm sitting on the ground with my legs crossed or I always have my legs crosses or I'm sitting one one leg while the other is hanging.

I usually somehow end up counting my steps on the way home from school, too, and then I can't stop!

I went through a stage for about six months where I would involuntarily clench the muscles in my neck (so that it would make the bones/cartlidge stick out disturbingly) every few seconds or so throughout the day.

I also have this thing about (say, if SPN, or Prison Break is on) that if anythign crappy happens that day, or anyone says something to me that I don't take to well, it tends to make me think that they've ruined whatever it is for me, even if what they said was at 9am that morning.

And when I buy new stuff, and people completely & deliberately attempt to pay it out, even if it IS stupid/old/useless. OH, and if anything happens that I don't like, or someone upsets me, I generally tend to use that as an excuse to get upset about everything under the sun, and spend the rest of the day miserable as hell because my fifth grade teacher yelled at me all those years ago, and not because so-and-so was being a complete cow to me that day. LOL.

My mum hates the finger tapping the most; she says it's because I have no rythym . Mean old cow! lol, she just hates it when I go for 5 minutes without stopping, it drives her bonkers!!

Guess we are. But I can't tap for 5 minutes because the second I start tapping, I'm told to stop it and yeah.

The only time can tap for 5 minutes when I'm alone LOL

Because I play drums I can never sit still. I'm ALAWYS fidgeting or tapping out a beat with my hands on the edge of the table or with pens and my cutlery at dinner. It even annoys me, but I can't stop it.

I should learn drums then! At least then I'd have some sort of beat! lol

Is it hard to learn drums?

I have a thing where I have to fold a piece of paper in half before writing on it. My mate mentioned that I had always done it since primary school. I never noticed.

And then I can never go to school without having a shower in the morning, unless I had one right before I went to bed the night before. If I have shower in the arvo after school, I have to have one before school or else I feel icky.

I've developed a new habit where I have to turn the power point off where my laptop is when I'm not using it "for fear of it bursting into flames". Lol. Paranoid. I think I'm turning into my mother.

I must always use proper capitals and punctuation whenever I'm posting anything. I hate it when people write in lower case.

... and that's all I can think of at the moment. There are lots of little things, but I can't be bothered listing them all.

Oh

I CANNOT write small or very neatly. And in english, if we have to write stories or creative writing topics I write pages in handwriting. Last time it was 14 pages and I was trying to make it as short as possible but lucky it turned out to be 5 pages on the computer.

Lol, I can't write a short story, and I never seem to finish any of my fanfics.... my brain goes off on a tangent and invents a whole new story from one idea... wierd or what?
