Been a LONG time since I was really a part of AOME...2005-ish I think. But as the topic says, I just finished watching Ringers on Netflix. Made me miss being a part of LOTR. Going to DCon and dressing up as Aragorn and having ppl want to take a picture with me like "I" was someone famous, Trilogy Tuesday....so AWESOME!, marching in the DCon parade with AOME. Those were some happy times for me. Every time I watch something related to LOTR (Ringers, a random tribute video on YouTube, etc) I feel....alive....and sad. Its hard for me to explain. Goin to DCon and being a part of LOTR was where I was no longer ashamed of being a geek. I was proud to be one! It was so exciting to watch the world geek out to movies about elves, hobbits, and wizards, but now its all but forgotten by most of the world...only to be reminded of when TNT shows LOTR in HD every 6 months or so. Well, just needed to "vent" that out of my system. I wish that I could come to DCon this year...i live just a few hours away in SC, but my job is in the way of that (being a Drill Sergeant at fort jackson, sc). But I WILL be there next year! That is a promise. Dont care what I have to do, its time for my "return of the king".
