And though I hate to destroy the mystique, I think the ATM was actually working on Saturday (the day before).
At least for about two minutes, anyway. The Con was fun again, but not to any great extent that those who missed it should worry overmuch. Highlights, such as they are, were (in no particular order): 1. The costume contest little girl who kept chasing her shadow against the spot-lighted backdrop of the stage, which prompted a running theme throughout the rest of the show. "Hey Alien dude -- chase your shadow!" ;-) 2. Sebastian the Stargate Dog, a sheltie (miniature collie) who was always in costume (combat vest with a SG-1 patch on it), and had a low tolerance for teeny-boppers fighting with laser swords within close proximity of his mistress. 'Course, for that matter, he didn't like shadows on the ground either. ("Chase your shadow, Sebastian!") 3. The Molly Maguires, a local-based Irish Folk band, and a little boy whose name was something like "Seventy Two". (We could never figure out what it was, but it really did sound like "72"). Those darn Irish Catholics and their damnable large families! ;-) 4. Running into Frodo-Daniel and WhiteLadyEowyn-Jo on Sunday. 5. The guy dressed as William Wallace, who when prompted by John and I with the line "William Wallace is seven feet tall!", to which he responded (as we'd hoped) with barely skipping a beat, "Aye, I've heard! And if he were here, he'd consumed the English army with fireballs from his eyes and bolts of lightning from his -- ", well you know the rest. 6. Another Hobbit who seemed to be William Wallace's sidekick. Perfect, really, since they're both so good at throwing rocks. 7. Endless Little Debbies and various other semi-edible fare at the Consuite. 8. Running into Neumë on Saturday night, just before the costume contest, even though we'd been looking for her since Friday evening. 9. Hanging out with some of the Stargate Atlanta folks. 10. Talking with the Southeastern Browncoat dudes and dudettes. 11. Eating in the pizza diner train-car. Again. 12. Watching a British-made Star Wars fan film that actually had a budget and actors who could, well, kinda act. 13. And, of course, seeing the much-maligned Out of Order sign on the Holiday Inn Choo Choo lobby ATM (and seeing Jo take a picture of it for everyone, just prior to texting Foe about it). Priceless. ;-) Right, then. Maybe some happy returns for next year. Onward to Ren Fest and Dragon*Con, then! -MikeY |

Many thanks, Gandalf called the Grey. I always thought young William could almost rival the craftiest rock-tossing Hobbit! ;-)
As for drunkard stories, BTP, there was the usual. Really too many to single out -- I'm beginning to believe that free alchohol among a horde of folks, who largely don't have a great deal of social skills (I'm including myself here too!), is not a particularly good mix. Interesting at times, sure, and funny as heck even, but overall, no good comes from it (kinda like Sauron and the One Ring, really ;-)). Anyway, yeah, was fun, but nothing (per usual) that was an Absolutely Had To Be There Moment. Still, you guys were missed! =) Later... -MikeY (Gimli , Uruk , and lots of other random Middle-earthen critters in the past |

Chattamigraine! GAH!
I had Pittsburgh Comi-migraine last year (the only opportunity I had last year to wear Galadriel - yeah, wig, crown, ouch!). -------------------- Namarie,

Oi! And the Galadriel wig is the loooooong one too. That plus the circlet would have been ultimatley painful during a migraine episode. (makes you feel
)I do understand how it is when your finally at a place where you can wear your special costume and really want to wear it while you can though. There really is something about something about conventions that brings on those for me.Though I finally did get a nice strong prescription after being badgered to get one for over two years.Unfortunatly I only had one pill with me at Chatta and it wasn't enough this time.
