Frans.

As you know, I will do all I can to help.

I really think the thing that will breathe life into the forums is to have more of the 'regulars' posting more regularly.

The Doc has gone AWOL. Proffesor Farnsworth, Wulf and the Sarge post very rarely now. Same as Manfred.

gronk is very busy at work and the like.

I am guessing that new topics, or new games would help, but I think that not enough of us had a wargames interest to keep those threads humming. I know I can't play much Warhammer out in the boondocks, and gronk is taking a hiatus (even though he is 500kms east of me).

Maybe expanding more into other interests (Games and Movies) and trying to entice back all of out regular cast.

Anyway, I will be here and ready to help out in any way I can mate!

Get on a webring.

Focus on the site's strengths - the RPs, friendly community etc - instead of trying to push the parts where we're obviously weaker. If people get the interest up they'll post regardless.

Link to it from other forums, if they allow such things and quite a few do so long as you're not poaching members. This is especially true of play-by-post sites that allow linking to outside games.

Put a link to it in your email.

Pimp it wherever you go!

Yeah, there are people coming on from time to time, but in fewere numbers, and they arent seeing things to do, so arent staying.

Perhaps an injection of fresh blood might be in order? trouble is from where.

If the worst comes to the worst, consider other sites to relocate things to, maybe en masse, to try and keep in touch?

I think as well to 'pick things up', we need to remember what made us great in the first place.

Bringing back in some of the regulars would really help. In saying that, I know gronk is on a hiatus from Wargaming. I believe from RPGing as well.

Anyhoo....

If we could get back 10 - 15 regulars and regularly chat, we would have something worth advertising. IMO.

That would be a good idea. PM's would only work if they come back here!!!

Can you do that Frans?

If we revamped a bit first - merged areas that were slow for example, and created some new content - that could go in the email. Also maybe an advert for that game Frans wants that RD could run. Maybe you could pimp that with a piece of short fiction, to encourage people to play or at least come an take a look. I don't mind writing it. smile.gif

Well, is there some way to message/e-mail the owners/players of the games that have stopped being played?

I could start and set up a game, then we could invite people to play? Maybe ?

Something like that could work.

The other problem is that only Frans/sb are Painting/Modelling right now. I have stopped playing Warhammer (apart from the odd game against my 4 year old). I would ask gronk to come back, but he has also stopped playing.

What would be cool is 4 - 5 regular gamers in 40K and Warhammer, and a section of RPGames, with some chat about rules/background ect there.

Anyway, any decisions will be backed up and followed by me. Except having a web cam, and having to perform certain 'acts'.

My 2 pence/Euros

FYI: Most people have signed up with an e-mail address (strangly, sb and horny have not laugh.gif ).

Could be worth sending out a line?

It might be hidden by the users settings?

i dunno if the admin has a send block email setting? Thats what would make things easier.

I agree it needs a revamp. we could also do with getting rid of a lot of stuff that clutters the main page that doesnt get used (ie the rps, if the gms aren't coming back.)

The bad sign is we even lost the spammers. what the hell happened to zarc and space cheese and their ilk?

I could probably be persuaded to run something new, but for that we need players.

trouble with the wargaming side is its a bit quiet atm. next big release is CSM for 40k.

should we change the look of ap? the colour? give it a lick of paint?

Alrighty then!

In the interests of making the place look tidy, I've archived all the RPs that haven't been posted on this year.

I've also reordered the front page, because if we're going to attract anyone back we need to show that we've made some changes. If we don't look like we've got anything new to offer they won't look any further than the main index.

For this reason I'm going to make the controversial suggestion of changing the colour-scheme. I know HWT's already mentioned this and met some resistance, but I really think we should. We have to look different to get up the interest.

I also think we should rename the different sections, for exactly the same reason.

Ditto.

we need to get new threads up about what is going on to entice people back too. Play off our strengths. Get discussing new games and things, to this end im going to post some new threads this weekend. We can't complain about people not posting if we dont have material that interests them.
