Well, I thought I would start a new thread, as it is a new month, and the NAMOWRIMO is over....

I got back to it last night, and churned out another 2,000 words. I wanted to finish the chapter I was working on, but time got the better of me, so I called it quits at 11.

I am up to 77,000 words now.

I am contemplating calling a halt at the end of this Chapter, and then doing some polish work on what I have written so far, and adding in the little bits I have missed out.

Since I didn't enter NaNoWriMo, due to a disqualification (I started early. I couldn't help myself) biggrin.gif, I decided to continue my story for the hell of it.

After a hiatus from the story, I have come back to it, and have continued writing again. It's 27,774 words at the moment, and Part One is almost finished. I figure I can pack 10 chapters into a Part. Then, when I go back and edit, I can slice up some new material and cram it in there.

It's absolutely terrifying so far, and it's only getting worse...

Now that sounds interesting!!!!!

Well, I cracked on Friday night, but present wrappings, and other assorted work kept me from it for the rest of the weekend. Still need to do another couple of hundred words to finish Chapter 25.

This one's not. One of the chracters is an awkward bastard who's doing my head in. sad.gif He's the only one I'm having trouble writing.

Hmm, I tend to start with charecters, so I don't usually have trouble writing them in stuff, just writing stuff for them to be in.....

(did that make sense????)

Any hoo...

I still have not written much this month, but I aim to change that tonight!!

Yes, it mades sense. Sort of.

I like to create a sitiuation based on a character type. It's a 1-2 combo, but the premise is usually based around a single situation, which is elaborated upon until it's one big, complex plot.

Well, I don't much go for plotting in my stories. Plots tend to get in the way. I tend to write, and see what the plot was at the end.

Which is often why they end up as a mess. laugh.gif

I do start with character's but he's just proving difficult to get into the head off.

Basically he was brought up in a permissive society where homosexual relationships are allowed. In fact, they're seen as normal between young men of a certain age. Nobody cares so long as they don't get in the way of political marriages and the production of heirs etc. But he was brought up in his mother's faith - her being from a neighbouring kingdom that teaches that homosexuality is a sin. He's even named Dastenin after their god of home and family.

The problem being that he's bisexual, and so has all these feelings that he thinks are wrong and evil. So he's aggressively heterosexual, sleeps around, and drinks to try and hide from it from himself. But when he's drunk he meets a guy and they sleep together....more than once. He's actually fallen for this guy, but won't even begin to admit it to himself. Even though he's on a quest to rescue him. Darn those pesky slavers. biggrin.gif

It's difficult to get my head around what's going on in Dast's mind. Like his reaction to the night before when he sobers up in the morning, and what he thinks of Nico (the other guy) the rest of the time...etc etc.

Well, it sounds as if it is hard to get into his head, as his head is a hard place to get into!!!

The poor man is confused. He is falling in love, but commiting a great sin at the same time. he does not know if he should continue, or whip his own behind with birch branches.....

Quite understandable, to me.

I managed to finish Chapter 25 last night, and as it stands I have 4 Heavy metallers, 6 Glam Rockers and 6 guys dressed in baggy pants and hoods drinking lemonade in the Snakecatcher, on Brockenhurst high street. It seemed a good place to halt.

I weighed in at 80,000 words, of which 90% + where written in the months of November.

I am now working on polishing up what I do have. Then, I will either go on to part two, or start my other story idea (the one I did not do for NaNaMoWriMo). This one should be well over 50,000 words, as it is actually three stories in one!!!
