Arj and Poopy - September 2, 2006 10:09 AM (GMT)
For anyone interested, the "Arj Barker Live" DVD has just been released, and in the extras there is a little snippet of an Arj and Poopy recording session. And "Brutally Ambushed". This was released in Australia, not sure when it will be released elsewhere.

Did I mention work on the latest Arj and Poopy has begun, with Bouncy making his first appearance?

I knew there was something I forgot to ask him about yesterday!!! Dammit. I'm hoping he brings some with him when he comes back to Seattle. I spoke to him briefly at Bumbershoot yesterday. He sold out of his CD's immediately. But, he's going back to Australia soon...take care of him, AUSTRALIA!!!!! Or we'll have to kick some ass...

sarcasmo - September 7, 2006 12:31 PM (GMT)
I bought the DVD a couple of days ago and I absolutely love it! I had already seen most of the material, but it doesn't matter how times I watch him, he's always hilarious. I have to say that the extra features were a nice surprise. He knows how to take care of his fans, which is great! Good on you, Arj! I definitely recommend getting your hands on a copy. It's totally worth it.

Before I forget: Does anybody know when Arj is coming back to Melbourne? Or how soon soon is? I'm dying to see him again!

badpony - September 8, 2006 10:29 AM (GMT)
Um, I think he's coming back, like, next week or something. Maybe it's Sydney next week...well, soon, anyhow.

sarcasmo - September 8, 2006 01:12 PM (GMT)
Ok, thanks! I was hoping it was soon.

badpony - September 9, 2006 02:30 AM (GMT)
Yes, it's soon. Very soon. Like, don't blinkTHEREHEIS! Soon.

sarcasmo - September 9, 2006 10:00 AM (GMT)
You're right! It is soon.

I just checked the Melbourne Fringe Festival site, and he'll be here on the 29th of September. I have all of the details, and will be getting tickets soon. VERY soon.

badpony - September 9, 2006 10:15 PM (GMT)
Told ya it'd be soon. Better get them tickets real soon. They're gonna sell out. Soon. Very, very soon.

melbgirl - September 12, 2006 03:09 AM (GMT)
I'll be there too, I can't wait. He's performing at a venue that is small compared to other larger places he has sold out before so tickets will definitely sell out fast.

Cheers. ;)

sarcasmo - September 12, 2006 06:00 AM (GMT)
Smaller place? Oh man, I'd better haul arse and get my tickets!

badpony - September 12, 2006 09:43 AM (GMT)
Yeah, you'd better get them SOON, 'cause they could sell out REAL SOON!

BTW, Arj says, "Hey, see ya SOON!"*

*not an actual Arj Barker quote, nor have I spoken to him lately. Matter of fact, Arj who???

sarcasmo - September 13, 2006 06:13 AM (GMT)
Yeah, this "soon" business is getting a bit out of hand.

Anyway, I gotta get those tickets soon!

badpony - September 13, 2006 04:37 PM (GMT)
I was wondering how soon you'd tire of it. Not as soon as I suspected, but sooner than the end of the world. By the way, did you know that Oklahoma is the SOONer State? It's also the state where my father was born, on Grand Lake o' the Cherokees...yes, we're Cherokees!!!! WOOT CHEROKEES!!!! CHEROKEE NATION!!!!!! TSA-LA-GI!!!!! (that's Cherokee for "Cherokee") I'll stop soon, I swear...WOOT CHEROKEES!!!! Sooner or later, love is gonna get ya...yeah, I haven't slept at all...but I will, soon. Maybe in I-5 traffic.

CHEROKEES!!!!!

Get them tickets SOON, babee!!!!* SOON!!!! And a big shout out to my homies down under...y'all know who y'are!!!! All...uh...six of ya!!!!!

*still contains no direct Arj Barker quotes. Don't even know the guy...never heard of him.

The Harmonium - September 19, 2006 11:52 AM (GMT)
I bought that dvd and it rocks more than my grannies chair! just new from melbourne australia, sup? :)

sarcasmo - September 20, 2006 06:43 AM (GMT)
Hey, I'm from Melbourne too, and the DVD is awesome. And I finally got my tickets for Arj's show! A wave of relief washed over me when I bought them. I feel good now. I can't wait to see him again. I also got a big poster of him. Fingers crossed he'll sign it for me. :D

The Harmonium - September 20, 2006 10:24 AM (GMT)
I got him to sign a t-shirt and my chest! i thought it was hilarious but i may have been sending out an inaccurate vibe with that one

sarcasmo - September 23, 2006 09:25 AM (GMT)
He signed your chest? That's pretty awesome! And nice of him! :P

melbgirl - October 1, 2006 12:42 PM (GMT)
hey i'm from melbourne too! i know it's really obvious. i still need to buy my tickets. can't believe i've been so slack about it. still can't wait to see arj again.

cheers ;)

sarcasmo - October 2, 2006 06:58 AM (GMT)
You really need to get those tickets! I went last Friday, and he was absolutely awesome!!! He talked to me during the show and had me in stitches the whole time and then afterwards I got another photo with him. He's great. He's also coming to my hometown to do a show, so I'm going to that as well. I can't wait! He'll probably think I'm stalking him - but I did tell him that I was seeing him again. But Dig was hilarious. It was also his first night, so there were some mistakes - but they were funny too. All in all, it was great finish to crappy week. And I thank him for that. :D

badpony - October 4, 2006 04:49 AM (GMT)
Hey, if he hasn't figured out that *I'M* stalking him yet, he probably won't think you are, either. Of course, I make for a really crappy stalker. Is he in the woods? Noooo...is he at the beach? Noooooo..... Is he in the mountains? Nooooo... In the desert? Nooooo.... I'm much better at being a plant stalker.

I wonder if he'd sign MY chest? Ha! Like I'd allow him near it....LOL silly goose!

sarcasmo - October 13, 2006 10:08 AM (GMT)
Well, I'm seeing Arj again next week. Can't wait! He's also going to be on a new TV show here in Australia called 'Joker Poker'. If you're in Australia and have a TV, turn it on on Tuesday 17th October Channel 10 at 8.30pm. I don't know if it's any good, but hey, Arj is on. Enough said, right? :P

badpony - October 14, 2006 05:11 AM (GMT)
Good enough reason for me to watch some game I don't even understand...

But when, oh WHEN is Hollywood going to wake up to his other talents? No, not the nose kazoo thingy...those Hollywood IDIOTS! By the way, I'm still boycotting NBC for screwing him over TWICE. Jerks. Phony buckets of chum. You know where the fake dog-doo in curiosity shops comes from? Hollywood moguls...that's right. They even CRAP plastic....

sarcasmo - October 20, 2006 02:20 AM (GMT)
Yeah... stupid Hollywood. When will they ever learn?

I was once again graced with Arj's glorious presence on Wednesday night when he came to my hometown. And once again, he did not disappoint. He had an opening act, who was Australian comedian Joel Ozborn. He was great too. And after the show, I did my usual ritual of going over to Arj and say hi and get him to sign something and then get a photo with him. To my absolute surprise, he remembered me. Not by name, but by face. Seriously, no one ever remembers me. Sad. Anyway, we had a bit of a catch up and then I got a photo with him and then one with both of them. Another awesome night. Thanks Arj!

And on that same night, Arj was on Thank God You're Here, a very enjoyable Australian TV show. And of course, he was fantastic! For those of you who don't know what the show is about, it's all improv. The actors/comedians/celebrities (whoever they are) are put into a costume and then they enter a room with a senario (eg. game show, principal's office - really, anything you could imagine!) to which they are greeted with "Thank God You're Here" and then they have to bullshit their way through it. The show's permanent cast then asks questions, etc (sometimes quite vague ones) and they have to think on their feet. If you want to see some footage from the show, go to You Tube and type in "Thank God You're Here". Unfortunately, Arj's bit isn't on there. But it's a fun show. Check it out.

sarcasmo - October 21, 2006 05:12 AM (GMT)
OK, Arj's bit on Thank God You're Here is now on You Tube. I highly recommend you check him out! There's also a clip of the all-in challenge, where all four of the guests are in a senario together.

You Tube

Hopefully the link works. If not, just go to You Tube and type in Arj Barker. :D

melbgirl - November 11, 2006 02:40 PM (GMT)
Hey sarcasmo I was at the same gig as you on that wednesday night too! I was lucky enough to have a chat to arj and joel while arj signed my dvd. Then i got a photo too. I asked about arj and poopy and the next episode but he said he doesn't know what's going on and it's all up to Bern. The dvd is sooo funny, I love the extras.

Cheers ;)

sarcasmo - November 12, 2006 03:25 AM (GMT)
I remember hearing someone ask him about the Arj and Poopy episode! Well there you go. Small world! :)

melbgirl - November 12, 2006 09:35 AM (GMT)
Now that I think about it I do remember seeing someone in front of me having a conversation with arj while I was waiting. They were explaining to arj why everyone laughed so hard when he said after the show he might go to the hottest nightclub in town, lol. I was chatting to joel while all this was going on. Has arj released his dvd in the U.S? It is so good, especially the my world extras.

Cheers ;)

badpony - November 13, 2006 07:48 AM (GMT)
NO, he hasn't released it in the US yet...
HEARING THIS ARJ? BRING DVD'S!!!!! I don't have a DVD player, but I will eventually. I have friends who have them, I can watch at their place (Yes, it's true, I have friends...just not many...people are stupid). I think Arj is just a firm believer of "when in Rome". I mean, when he was here for Bumbershoot, he was drinking Ranier beer!!!! Of course, few of the locals even drink that stuff anymore...it's all about the microbrews, baby! I wonder where they're making Ranier now, since the old Ranier brewery, with the big neon 'R' on it, was sold to Tully's coffee, and now has a big red or green (or some other colour) 'T' on it. Even the Olympia beer brewery (which was actually in Tumwater, not Olympia, but close) is no longer functioning.

Anyway, no he hasn't released it in the US.

melbgirl - November 14, 2006 02:28 AM (GMT)
You don't need a dvd player you can use your computer to watch dvd's too. Anyway I forgot to mention that Bern features in the extras briefly. He's saying to Arj "Are you sure you want to use this for your dvd?" and Arj is like "nah we don't" but then whispers to the camera that he's going to use all of it lol. The dvd is very Australian though with aussie jokes and hanging out on the beach and around Sydney talking to locals. He'd need to make a new one for American audiences.
He's a lot bigger here though. If you check out his myspace the majority of comments are from people in Australia.

badpony - November 14, 2006 06:25 AM (GMT)
Actually, the majority of comments on his MySpace come from wherever he's touring at the time, or so I've noticed. But I still think he should consider relocating, but, he's a California boy, and that's where his family is, so I think it would be a tough decision for him. But he should still release it here. Dammit. We understand Australian...thanks to Crocodile Dundee and Steve Irwin...LOL
