Welcome to Aquitaine, an intermediate to advanced Alternate History role-playing game. This game takes place during the year of 1514 in the newly established country of Aquitaine and its European neighbours, and will eventually expand further into the future. There will be good times and bad times for the characters here as they enter a time rife with as much pleasure as there is peril. We hope you decide to join and become part of our RP-ing family!

Emma Hirst is the youngest daughter of the Hirst family, and has never aspired to anything beyond her God-given station in life. Quiet and kind-hearted, the girl goes about her business in a compassionate and muted manner, entirely unaware of the ambitious plans being made for her by her family. A friendly, innocent person, she brings a balance to the more rough-around-the-edges characters prevalent on the board. No matter what's going on, one can trust that Emma will be looking for the silver lining of the situation.

While recovering from a mauling in the field Commander Shaft's Iscariot Legion has set up camp near an old Monastery in England. During a routine trip to the nearby town for supplies their man Thurgold was assaulted and injured by highwaymen. One naive failed-monk, Galahad stepped in to play the role of good Samaritan and helped get the man back to his friends. Now the quiet and kind doctor must deal with the Iscariot's cold commander and its most eccentric scout, Ace, if he wants to continue his role as nurse and bring his healing touch to the ill-used men of the mercenary-legion.

Type: Bounty Hunting Target: Adnot Depard Last Seen: Calais, France Outline: As of late, due to the economical and sociological troubles, there has been a rise in criminal activity in France. Adnot Depard is one such criminal, having recently resorted to thievery after having fallen out of His Majesty's favour and losing his title of Lord. He is wanted alive and brought back to Paris where he will be tried for his crimes. Reward: §30, Fame 10
Type: Privateering Location: Mediterranean Outline: The treatises of peace demand restraint from navies but have never managed to restrain a nation’s ambition. Privateering is pirating with direction, and can be contracted under any of the major powers. While this provides some safety from one’s beneficiary it’s still pirating and so illegal, violent and reprehensible. (Repeatable, list the country contracted by) Reward: §35, Infamy 40, plus money for the captured ship (varies depending on ships condition)
Type: Recruitment and Training Location: Aquitaine Outline: Aquitaine’s economic interests are being limited by its comparatively small navy. Active recruitment has begun in search of able-bodied men to man the ships currently under construction at numerous shipyards. All applicants are offered a full pardon for any crimes, 50 pounds and free room and board. Qualified officers are promised title after 2 years service. Reward: §50, Fame 10
Type: Recruitment and Training Location: Aquitaine (Pau) Outline: Aquitaine is establishing its first elite Dragoon unit, able to deploy to the battlefield quickly via mounts and equipped with the best in modern firearms. All title-bearing knights will be offered parcels of land after 10 years service as officers for the enlisted civilians. Reward: §50, Fame 10
Type: Bounty Location: Mediterranean Outline: French Corsairs, Barbary Pirates and other violent threats to good, honest sea-farers are intolerable. Spain will pay 10 pounds for each corpse bearing the Pirate's Brand and 100 pounds for any ship flying a black flag. Reward: §10 (marked body) or §100 (ship), Fame 30, Infamy 50
Type: Raid Location: Spain Outline: A rich merchant is moving his goods to sell them in Madrid, braving the country road with his expensive textiles and similar wares. The merchant has hired a team of guards to make sure he and his cargo reach the city without being harassed, but there is bound to be someone willing to take the chance. There is little chance that the merchant will be carrying coin, but his goods will catch a handsome price. Reward: Anything you get from the merchant, Infamy 35
Type: Enforcement Location: Samland, Prussia Outline: A Prussian lord has discovered a crew of bandits prowling his lands and preying upon travelers. The lord hasn’t got enough men to police the lands himself, preferring to focus the major trading hubs he has within his lands, so he needs someone to deal with the bandits. Reward: §100, Fame 35

Farouk Rashid Type: Colonization Location: Atlantic Ocean Outline: The Azores Islands are out of the range of patrolled waters and close enough to modern trade lanes to warrant interest in mercenary and pirate parties. Nominally controlled by the Portuguese they’ve found greater wealth in their holdings off the coast of Africa and left the islands largely unguarded and unpopulated.
