Naruto: Shippuuden the Movie, first released in theaters across Japan on August 4th, 2007, has now finally been released on DVD some 8 months later, and is now available online! Yes, just 4 months before the next Naruto: Shippuuden movie is set to be released in theaters, we finally can get a taste of this one!

Demons that once almost destroyed the world have been revived by someone. "To prevent the world from being destroyed, Naruto is to guard Shion, but she predicts Naruto's death. The only way to escape it is to get away from Shion, which would leave her unguarded, in which case the demons would kill her."

What do we know?
It has yet to be stated at what point in continuity this movie will take place, but we do know it takes places in the post-timeskip Shippuuden time frame. The movie will come to theaters close to Shippuuden episode 25, putting it around the start of the second Naruto arc. Like the previous movies, movie 4 will probably exist in its own continuity, outside of the main storyline. Due to the use of filler in the anime, the movie will probably fit into its continuity.

What's the story?
At this point we don't have much to go on. Apparently Naruto battles a group of ten individuals who "kill" him. Naruto's friends then have to deal with his passing.

What do we think?
Taking place in the post-timeskip time frame and involving a darker subject matter may set this movie apart from its more lighthearted predecessors

Not decent, neither great, I thought it was good. The music was somewhat likeable and the animation didn't fail that much, though it would be amazing to have a new team to animate a Naruto movie. The storyline was blah, didn't pay attention to it, I was mostly looking forward to Rock Lee's fight and the other main characters' fights. Wasn't a complete waste of my time, though I'd wish they'd do more out of making a good Naruto movie, other than a half-finished one. I'm sure they could do better. =/
