Worst Memory: The night Gavin slapped their mother. Gavin and Katherine(their mom) were arguing and Gavn became so angry that he slapped Kathy. Gabriel was just walking into the room when it happened. Gabriel had rushed to his mother's side and Gavin and Gabriel fought until Gavn stormed out of the house.

Overall History:
Gabriel is the oldest son of Katherine and Jack Melrose. He has a younger fraternal twin named Gavin. The twins are as different as night and day.
Gabriel's best friend had been his brother Gavin until their first year at Aminta. Gavin was sorted into a different house than Gabriel and had made friends with the wrong crowd. He quickly changed. Gabriel was deeply disturbed by the sudden interest his brother showed in the dark side. Something deep inside him told him that it wasn't Gavin's friends that sparked it, but that it had always been there and he had ignored it.
Gabriel tortured himself with thoughts of how to bring Gavin back. For a year he did everything he could think of, only to get brushed off and yelled at by his brother.
He gave up after awhile, but it always tore him apart to see Gavin acting bad. It tore him up worse when he saw the helpless looks on his parents faces when they looked at Gavin.
He loved his parents to death, just as they loved each other to death. Kathy and Jack's marriage is the strongest Gabriel had ever seen, their love was the strongest he had seen. He had always wished he could find a love like that. His parent's hopeless attitudes drove Gabriel to determination. No matter what it took, he was going to save his brother from the dark side.
His younger sister was the love of his life from the time she was born. (Not in a romantic way bc that would be gross) They were inseparable when he was home. He wanted to give her all the love he could because he never wanted her to feel as if she lacked anything. He coddled her and taught her everything he could. He also made it his mission to see that Maria was taken care of and that she would never turn to the dark side.

Gabriel paced the floor, buried deep in his thoughts. He had seen Gavin picking on the first year, he knew Gavin took pleasure in such things. He knew, yet he couln't accept. Something deep inside of him was screaming that Gavin wasn't completely lost to him. That the kind Gavin he had been best friends with was still there. He just had to figure it out.
Raking a frustrated hand through his hair, he continued to pace. And think.
"You'll wear a track into that carpet yet, friend," Lucas Hunter, Gabriel's best friend since losing Gavin, said with a laugh. "If you're going to brood over your thoughts, at least sit down so you don't wear yourself out. It's no wonder you're so fit, you're always moving."
"It also helps that I work out regularly, you lazy bones." Gabriel was smiling as he did as his friend suggested and sat. The two friends were always bickering playfully at each other, each getting their digs in.
"I don't have to work out to look good. I'm just blessed."
Gabe snorted. He didn't doubt taht Luke meant what he said. Luke always meant what he said. "You're good for me, friend," He finally said looking over at Lucas. "If it weren't for you, I would have already driven myself crazy trying to help my brother."
