This is something I've been working on for a while, that I decided to post now I've finished "Needing you". Let me know what you think and if you want me to carry on
Sam turned the corner and stopped suddenly, almost treading on the young girl sat on the floor. He crouched down and noticed tears running down the little girl’s face. “What’s the matter?” he asked sitting down on the floor. He reached his hand out to wipe the girl’s tears away but quickly pulled it back when he saw her flinch. “Mummy said I can’t talk to strangers” the little girl said resting her head on her knees” “My names Sam” he said, “I work here, I’m a doctor” he said, the girl looked up, “what’s your name?” he asked. “Georgie” she whispered. “Nice to meet you Georgie” Sam said holding his hand out, Georgie held her hand out to shake Sam’s. “Now we’re not strangers anymore can you tell me why you’re upset?””I don’t know where my mummy is” Georgie sobbed, “She told me to wait for her, but she’s been gone ages, I tried to look for her, but I got lost and I don’t know where it is I’m meant to wait for her” Georgie said beginning to sob again. “Is your mummy poorly?” Sam asked, Georgie shook her head, “she makes people better” Sam smiled, “what’s your mummy called?” Georgie giggled, “mummy silly” Sam smiled, “Silly me, Well, what do other people call your mummy?” “Mrs Beauchamp” Sam tried to hide his shock as he said“Ah right, well it just so happens that me and your mummy are very good friends, I help her make people better, so why don’t you come with me and we’ll see if we can find out where she’s gotten to”. Sam stood up and held his hand out to the little girl. Georgie stood up and took his hand, staring wistfully at the vending machine for a minute before following Sam. Sam stopped, “you know what, I really fancy some chocolate, what about you?” Georgie smiled and nodded “Which one?”, she stood up on tiptoes and pointed to a bar of dairy milk with caramel. Sam smiled and lifted her up to press the right buttons on the machine, He got himself a kitkat and let Georgie pick them both from the flap in the bottom of the machine. “come on then” Sam said opening Georgie’s chocolate bar and handing it to her before taking her hand, “let's go find your mummy”
Sam walked up to Darwin and knocked on Connie’s office door. There was no answer. “Chrissie, do you know where Connie is?” “I think she’s in theatre, one of her patients deteriorated, why?” “Oh, no reason” Sam walked over to the nurses’ station and picked up the phone, he asked to be put through to theatre, and then on to Mrs Beauchamp, “What is it Sam, this better be important” “I’ve got something I think you might be looking for later” “What Sam? I don’t have time for games” “Well it’s a little over 3 foot tall, I’d say about 4 years old, brown hair, green eyes, calls herself Georgie” “Oh god Sam, Mr Thomas deteriorated so quickly, this is taking longer than I expected, is she okay?” “she was a bit upset when I first found her, but she’s fine now” he said looking over to where Georgie was giggling with Donna. “he heard Connie sigh, “Look Connie, my shift’s finished now, I don’t mind keeping an eye on her” “Thanks Sam” “No problem, I’ll be in the canteen with her” “Thanks Sam” Connie said again before hanging up. “Right Georgie” Sam said walking over to her, “Mummy’s just making someone better at the moment, so I said I’d look after you for a little bit” he said once Donna had left. Georgie nodded, “are you hungry?” Sam asked, Georgie shook her head, “erm” Sam thought for a moment, “what about the park, do you want to go to the park, play on the swings?” Sam suggested. Georgie nodded, “what about mummy?” she asked quietly. “I’ll tell her where we’ve gone and she can meet us there” Sam said pulling his phone out of his pocket, and sending a text to Connie, Georgie’s not hungry, taken her to the swings, meet us there? See you soon. S x
“Mummy” Georgie shouted as she saw Connie walking across the park, “Georgie, no” Sam yelled as Georgie tried to climb off the swing he’d been pushing, but it was too late, she jumped from the seat and stumbled forwards before falling and hitting her head on the climbing frame with a loud crack. “Georgie” Connie yelled running towards her daughter. Sam lifted her up off the floor as she began to scream. “Oh Georgie” Connie said, taking her daughter from Sam, “Mummy, my head hurts” Georgie said, lifting her hand, wincing as she felt the sticky blood on her head, “I think that’s gonna need stitches baby” Connie said, looking at the gash above Georgie’s eyebrow, “let's get her back to the hospital and I’ll have a look” Sam said wrapping his arm around Connie’s shoulder and steering her away from all the other tutting parents.

I'm so happy you are doing another fic, love your writing. Great start, feel sorry for Georgie being left alone not knowing where her mummy has got to, but sweet that Sam spotted her, and funny that he was shocked to find out Connie is her mum. I look forward to next part, and to finding out who Georgie's dad is.x

I'm glad you like it Part 2 for Elicia, vikkigracey, Syd and MELJ
Connie sat on the sofa in her office, holding Georgie tightly on her knee as Sam crouched down in front of her and began to gently look at the wound, “it doesn’t look too deep, I needs cleaning, but I don’t think it’ll need stitches, I think a couple of steri-strips should hold it” Connie smiled gratefully as Sam stood up, “I’ll be back in a minute” “Mummy my head hurts” Georgie said sobbing into Connie’s shoulder, “I’ll get her some pain relief too” Sam said before leaving the room.
“You’ve been ages” Connie said as Sam finally walked back into the room, “I went to the pharmacy to get this” he said passing Connie a bottle of children’s ibuprofen. “Thanks” Connie said giving Georgie a spoonful before Sam knelt down in front of her again and began to gently clean the cut, “right, I’m just going to put these on your cut Georgie, it’s special bits of tape that will hold it together while it gets better, it won’t hurt” Georgie nodded and sat incredibly still. “There we go, all done” Sam said standing up, “you’ve been very brave” he told Georgie. “I don’t think I need to tell you about watching her for signs of concussion” “thanks Sam” Connie said, standing up with Georgie in her arms, “would you like to come back to mine, I’ll make you dinner, to say thank you, for all this” Connie said gesturing with her free hand, “you don’t have to Con” “I don’t mind” “Mummy is Sam coming for dinner?” Georgie asked, lifting her head up from Connie’s shoulder, “I don’t know baby, it’s up to him” She said stroking Georgie's cheek, “pleeeeeeease?” Georgie begged, “how could I say no to you eh?” Sam asked. “C’mon lets go then” Connie said, struggling to open the door, “do you want me to take her?” Sam asked. Connie smiled and passed Georgie over. She immediately wrapped her arms round his neck and laid her head on his shoulder, gently playing with the hair at the nape of his neck. Sam carried Georgie out to Connie’s car and let Connie fasten her into her car seat, “I’ll go in my car, meet you back at yours” he said. Connie got in her car and fastened her own seatbelt, “Mummy, where’s Sam gone?” Georgie asked trying to turn round and look out of the back window for him, “He’s driving his car back to our house sweetheart” “Oh right” Georgie said slouching down in her seat and beginning to suck her thumb.
“Georgie, we’re home” Connie said shaking the little girl gently before lifting her from her car seat, “Is Sam here?” she asked as she opened her eyes, “not yet sweetie, he’ll be here soon” “Can I wait for him?” Connie opened the door and sat Georgie on the bottom step, “I’ll leave the door open and you can wait here, but you have to promise you wont go outside ok?” Connie asked propping the front door open. Georgie nodded, “I promise mummy” “good girl” Connie said as she kissed Georgie’s cheek and walked into the living room. “Mummy mummy he’s here” Georgie said excitedly, jumping up from the step and running to stand in the doorway. Connie walked through to the hallway, smiling as she saw Georgie reach out and take Sam’s hand, “We thought you wasn’t coming didn’t we mummy” Georgie didn’t wait for an answer before carrying on, “do you want to come and play with me?” she asked Sam, “I’d love too” he replied, Connie smiled, “I’ll put the kettle on then come up and join you” she called after Sam who was being dragged up the stairs.
“That’s my school uniform, that’s my doll what’s called Rosie, thems my ballet shoes, theres my teddy what I got when I was a baby, my beds good for bouncing on, what shall we play?” Georgie said sitting down on her bed and looking up at Sam, “What do you want to play?” he asked, “errrrrrrm, Giggle Wiggle!” she said jumping off the bed, “you’ll have to get it down I can’t reach” Sam walked over to the shelf and lifted the box down, “are you going to show me how to play?” he asked looking slightly bemused as Georgie pulled the game out of the box and began to set it up, “its easy, you be blue cos you’re a boy” she said giving him a pair of blue tweezers, “you put the blue balls on his hands” she said pointing to the caterpillar, “oh right, that easy” Sam said, picking up a ball with his tweezers. Georgie giggled as she pushed the button and the caterpillar began to wiggle. He noticed Georgie stick her tongue out in concentration and couldn’t help but laugh at the thought of Connie doing the same behind her surgical mask.
“Mummy” Georgie shouted, seeing Connie in the doorway, “I beated Sam at giggle wiggle” “only cos I let you win” Sam said, standing up from the floor and taking a cup of coffee from Connie, “No you didn’t he was rubbish mummy he was really and truly” Connie smiled at her daughter, “I bet he was, shall we go and make dinner” Georgie nodded and ran down the stairs, “you wouldn’t believe she’s suffered a head injury would you?” Connie said as Georgie paused at the bottom of the stairs to poke her tongue out at the adults before running off into the kitchen.

Fantastic part. Georgie seem's like a sweet and funny little girl. Thought the part where Georgie said the bed was good for bouncing on was funny. The game sounds like a good one. Great part, I am really liking this fic, and look forward to next part.x Thanks for dedi.x

Thanks for the comments, I'm glad you like it. For vikkigracey,-=Clo=-, MELJ and Paige
“What do you want then?” Connie asked following Georgie into the kitchen, picking her up and sitting her on the side, “errrrm, Chicken nuggets and chips and peas and ketchup” Georgie said smiling and kicking her legs against the cupboard. Connie smiled too, “is that okay with you?” she asked Sam. Sam nodded and smiled, “that’s fine”.
Sam sat at the table colouring with Georgie whilst Connie put the dinner in the oven. “Mummy here, you do the sky” Georgie said passing Connie a blue crayon as she sat at the table. Connie smiled and took the crayon from Georgie, leaving the table now and then to check the dinner, smiling as she heard Sam and Georgie laughing together at the table. “Dinner will be ready in 5 minutes Georgie, can you put the crayons away and wash your hands please” she said a while later. Georgie nodded and let Sam help her push the crayons back into the box before taking them and the colouring book upstairs.
“Is there anything I can do?” Sam asked standing up from the table. “You can get some plates out of that cupboard there” Connie said nodding her head to a cupboard on the wall by the fridge. “Georgie has the one with the Disney princesses on, can you get some glasses and Georgie’s princess cup from the next cupboard too?” she asked. Sam passed Connie the plates and then took the glasses from the cupboard and placed them beside Connie. “Placemats and cutlery are under the sink” she told him. Sam opened the drawer, “Georgie uses the Disney princess cutlery?” he asked. Connie nodded, “how did you guess?” she said with a smile. Sam laid the table and went to stand beside Connie, “I can’t remember the last time I had chicken nuggets” he laughed as Connie put the food onto plates. Connie smiled and fed Sam a chip over her shoulder. “Lovely” he laughed. Connie smiled and passed Sam the plates to put on the table. “Georgie, Dinner’s ready” she called up the stairs, and a few seconds later Georgie appeared at the kitchen door, and skipped across the kitchen before climbing into the chair beside Sam.
A few hours passed and Georgie was ready for bed, she’d insisted that Sam had helped bath her and she was now sat on the sofa between Connie and Sam, her head lolling slightly onto Sam’s arm as she drifted off, watching the last of cbeebies bedtime hour. “I think it’s bedtime for you” Connie said as she watched Georgie frantically try and keep her eyes open. “Can Sam read me a story?” she asked sleepily. Connie nodded, “if Sam doesn’t mind, then yes he can read you a story”. Georgie looked up at Sam, “will you read me a story?” she asked, smiling sweetly. Sam nodded, “come on then” he said lifting her off his knee, “which one?” he asked as he walked over to the bookshelf and lifted Georgie up to see the books. “Errrrrrrrrm, this one” she said, pulling a book of fairy princess stories off the shelf. “Okay” Sam said, putting the book on the floor and lifting Georgie into bed, “Comfy?” he asked. Georgie nodded and snuggled down into the covers, Sam smiled, “Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess who lived in a castle far far away” a while later Sam shut the book, “and they all lived happily ever after” he whispered, placing the book back on the shelf before noticing Connie stood in the doorway, “how long have you been stood there?” he asked. Connie smiled, “since the fairy godmother appeared “ she laughed, before walking into the room, kissing Georgie and turning the nightlight on.
“Do you want a drink?” She asked Sam as they walked downstairs, Sam shook his head, “I better be off” he told her, “I’m at work at 8” Connie smiled, “Enjoy that” she said, laughing slightly leaning against the door as Sam put his shoes on, “when are you next in?” he asked. “Not until next week” she told him, “It’s half term, Georgie and I are going to see her dad” Connie said with a sigh. “Oh right” Sam didn’t know what to say in response to that, “so, I’ll, erm, see you next week then?” Connie nodded, “thanks for today, I think Georgie really enjoyed it” she said Sam smiled, “it was my pleasure, she’s a lovely girl” Connie smiled and Sam leant forward to kiss her cheek, but his lips ended up brushing against her own. Neither of them pulled away for a while until Sam straightened up, “I, erm, better be off then” he said, his face flushed, Connie nodded and watched him walk out to his car “Sam” she called after him, Sam paused by his car door and turned to face her, “yeah?” she shook her head, “never mind”. Sam nodded and climbed into his car, and with a wave and a smile he was gone.

I'vde been meaning to read this ever since it was first posted; unfortunately I have little time for fiction reading at present.
But sod my college stuff I'm to do tonight, I've taken a break and read these three parts and am full of love.
This is totally awesome and very well written! I love your characterization of Sam inparticular - you capture the adult and the child in him. He is youthful and plays with Georgie, yet he still took care of her and in the start found out who she was etc. That is very awesome.
If I am to be a sod and nit pick, although con crit is always good, one tinsey tinsey thing I would say is I was always taught to put speech on a new line when another character is speaking - you don't do that here and I can still read it ok, but I think it is something you could maybe do.

Sorry bit late in replying. Another amazing part, you are really good at writing, all your fic's I read are amazing. Love the way Sam is bonding with Georgie, which is also bringing him closer to Connie, and his seeing what she is like out of work. I'm still wondering who Georgie's dad is though. Look forward to next part.x

Catt, I remember being told at school that speech should always go on a new line, but when I write like that I feel that it breaks it up, and stops it flowing as well if you get what I mean, so like many other things I was told to do at school I don’t do it anymore But if you think it would make it easier to read I could give it a go.
For vikkigracey, Catt and MELJ Oh, and those of you waiting to find out who Georgie’s dad is might have a bit of a wait, I’d already written a fair bit before I decided myself who Georgie’s dad was going to be
“Are we nearly there yet mummy?” Georgie asked, putting her crayons down on the small table in front of her. Connie shook her head and brushed Georgie’s fringe back from her face, being careful to avoid the cut on her forehead, “not yet baby” she said, smiling at her daughter. “Can I have a drink?” Georgie then asked. Connie nodded and reached into the bag by her feet and pulled out a bottle of ribena. Georgie smiled and tried to curl up in her seat. Connie smiled back at her and lifted the armrest, being glad of the extra space the upgrade to first class gave them as Georgie smiled gratefully and snuggled into Connie. “We’ll have to get your hair cut soon” she said, twirling bits of Georgie’s fringe between her fingers. Noticing that Georgie had already fallen asleep she took the bottle from her hand and placed it on the table before leaning back into her seat and closing her own eyes.
“Daddy” Georgie yelled, letting go of the luggage trolley Connie had told her to hold onto and running across the airport into her fathers arms. “I’ve missed you so much” he told her, as he cuddled her tightly. “I missed you too daddy” she said, resting her head on his shoulder. “Look” she said, holding her fringe up, “Oh baby, what happened?” he asked. “Well” Georgie began, “I felled off the swing, and banged it on the climbing frame yesterday, and it bleeded a lot, but Mummy’s friend Sam sticked it back together, and got me some pink medicine to stop it hurting, and then he came back to our house and we had chicken nuggets and chips and peas and ketchup for dinner, and I beated him at giggle wiggle” she said excitedly, beginning to grin. Her dad smiled, “sounds like you had fun” Georgie smiled and nodded frantically, “we did” she grinned. The man turned to face Connie, “how was the flight?” he asked. Connie nodded, “fine, you slept a lot of the way didn’t you Georgie” The man smiled, “Want me to get that?” he asked, pointing to the luggage trolley, Connie shook her head, “I’m fine, you just keep hold of Georgie.” The man nodded and the adults walked out to the car in silence, with Georgie chattering ten to the dozen to tell her dad about everything that had happened in the 2 months since she’s last seen him. He nodded and smiled in all the right places, until they got to the car, where he passed her back to Connie who strapped her into the car seat whilst he put their luggage in the boot.
“Christ Con, what have you got in here?” he asked. Connie shook her head, “not a lot, most of its pictures and stuff Georgie insisted on bringing for you.” He smiled and got into the drivers seat glancing over his shoulder to Georgie “She’s falling asleep again, do you think we should take her to hospital” Connie looked over at Georgie then back to him, “why?” she asked looking puzzled. “she banged her head yesterday, and you said she slept on the plane, but she’s already asleep now” Connie shook her head, “We had to get up at 4am to get to the airport, we got about an hours sleep on the plane, she’s not the only one that’s tired.” Connie told him, before reaching into her bag and switching her mobile back on. She smiled as she heard her message tone, signalling a text, smiling even more when she saw it was from Sam, “How’s Georgie’s head. S x” She quickly typed a reply, and pressed send “It’s fine, she’s still her usual cheerful self, shouldn’t you be saving lives?” Sam’s reply came quickly. “That’s good to hear, and my boss isn’t here, so I can slack off a bit” Connie chuckled slightly, earning a raised eyebrow from Georgie’s dad which she ignored, “Don’t get too used to it, your boss will be back before you know it” She felt her heart skip a beat at his response “good, it’s not the same without her” “Liar” she was quick to reply, “that hurts! Anyway, I better go, lives to save and all that, Say hi to Georgie for me, and enjoy yourselves. S x” she smiled and dropped her phone into her bag, before slipping her shoes off, relaxing back into the seat and closing her eyes.
