In character, Weyrwoman Katelin and Queen Yueth died because of an accident. The riders transfered before a power struggle occurred.

Ok. Well. I never really expected to be here. This is very surreal. Like I said before, I didn't have much to do with the creation of Aerten past the mechanics of the site itself. But those that created this Weyr have gone, which leave Auntie Cali responsible.

Here's the deal. I cannot go on. I've said it before. And what I've seen since Autumn first posted Up to Us shows me the Weyr can't either. Autumn can't admin here; she has too many other responsibilities. Goat turned down the position and I don't blame her; admining isn't fun. Icy has too many RL responsibilities as well, and regardless she can't do it by herself. It has been almost a week since Up to Us and activity has been dismal. There have barely been any posts at all. (I know I haven't posted much myself, but i HAVE tried) The Weyr is a ghost town. It is languishing and those who are left don't seem to have the time to support the weyr. I understand this is an inconvenient time, but i have never seen the weyr this deserted for so long. I think the sad truth is that there are really only a handful of us left. That's not enough. And even if we did salvage the Weyr it would never be the same. We have lost too many of our most active members. The thought of this site going on like this depresses me.

I'm sorry but, Aerten is dead. I know you want to try and save it. I did too, but it just isn't happening. It was fun while it lasted but all good things must end. I will wait one week to allow people time to see this message and collect any character data they wish. Then, the site will be taken down. There are plenty of other Weyrs out there if you want to keep RPing. I'm sure if you look around you will find something that suits you. If you want to try and band together to reate a new Weyr of your own, power to you. But Aerten is closing down. Any questions, comments, or abuse can be aimed at my inbox. I invite you to vent you passions upon me if you need to. It was a pleasure RPing with you all.

I'm sorry.

EDIT:

Due to a few things that have been pointed out to me, the site will not be taken down completely, but the forums will continue to be closed.
