He'd originally asked for his dragon to simply fly them home. Home... to get rid of his unsatisfied lust in private and then throw himself in bed to have nightmares about her. But, his dragon had changed their retreating course from the Flight and winged towards the cave of memories instead. They needed to visit the dead, was the blue's explination, to reach some sort of closure so his rider could move on and find another to make him happy as she once had. The bluerider couldn't fault his dragon for caring about him, but he really just wanted to avoid the issue all together and pretend it'd never happened.

Yet here they were now, at Memorial Cave, the rider standing in from of the wall, unsure what to do. The last time he'd been there was when she'd died three turns ago, and he'd scratched her name in the stone, along with her dragon's. He'd stood in just the same place he was in now, only he'd been crying openly, but now he was on the verge of tears again and still soaked from the rain which continued to fall heavily outside. Slowly, he approached the spot where he'd carved her name, and knelt, placing a strong calloused hand over the white letters.

HEATHER

BELLEZATH

The names were fresh in his mind as if the pair had been alive only a day before. "Jays, Heather... I'm sorry." He fisted his hand and struck the wall in frustration. "I let you down."

K'lem... I think you would let her down if you never let yourself be happy again... Xuth crooned carefully from outside.

"I DON'T need you to tell me that." The bluerider retorted angrily, but then sighed, letting his hand unclench and slide slowly down the stone. Her name stared him in the face again, but this time, he smiled. "I'll never forget."

He turned around then and leaned against the wall, pulling the cork off the wineskin he'd brought with him from Xuth's saddlebag. He took a little and dumped it on his fingers, then traced them over his dead weyrmate's name, straining the letters red. "How about one last drink with me, love?" With that, he downed a good half the skin and then set his head back against the wall, closing his eyes to wait. After a few minutes he could feel the buzz of the ale and smiled faintly, sighing. "That's right. Just forget it all..."

Do be careful, K'lem. Xuth settled himself down in the rain outside and layed his head on his paws, listening to the dregs of the storm rumbling overhead.

Darya groaned in frustration as the rain started falling again. Aryveth kept bugging her about a crimson being in flight but it really wasn’t something she cared about. All she wanted to do was get something for her midday meal. It was a slow rainy, stormy day and she had planned to remain holed up in her cozy weyr, oblivious to everything save the patter of rain on the ledge and the crackle of the fire on her small personal hearth. She’d spend the time just listening she supposed, but no, she had to chance going to the kitchens and now that she was done, her casual stroll back to her weyr ended up being drenched by pouring rain.

“Shards and shells,” she cursed as she broke into a run, looking for the closest shelter she could. Her eyes saw the blurred form of an icy blue dragon crouched just outside of the memorial cave…and that was the closest shelter she needed to head to in order to await the rain to die off again if she didn’t want to get soaked to the bone. “This is what I get for not bringing that big green chatterbox with me,” she grumbled and trotted past the blue, who seemed so down he wouldn’t have noticed her if she’d run into him headlong.

She turned quickly to retreat into the cave, but she misjudged the ground and felt herself slip. A squeal of shock and surprise escaped her lips and she slid uncontrollably to the muddy ground just inside the cave. “Shaffit!” she exclaimed, her soft voice barely audible above the pouring rain. A sharp pain shot up her leg from her ankle and she grimaced as she tried to right herself. Then she saw the form of the bluerider in the dimly lit cave. As if things couldn’t be bad enough now I’ve had to go make a fool of myself. She thought.

Darya dear what happened? Aryveth asked gently, concerned.

Nothing ‘Veth, I’m just annoyed that I’m wet, now muddy, and you’re up there all dry warm and cozy in the weyr, don’t mind me,[/color] she sighed and looked suddenly at the blue rider.

“By Faranth I am so sorry to have intruded,” she said, grasping the stone wall to help herself out of the mud-slick she’d slipped into…quite by accident. Her cheeks burned hotly in embarrassment, but her ankle throbbed painfully. She stood, leaning against the wall and taking the weight off of the ankle, wincing despite herself. “I was just looking for a place to wait out the rain…I am so sorry,” she apologized again timidly, hoping he wouldn’t shoo her too quickly, after all she doubted she could do more at the present moment than hop around on one foot. She needed a moment to collect herself.

The first thing that K'lem thought when the woman entered the cave with him was that it was Heather's vengeful ghost coming to haunt him for being an unfaithful dimglow, but then she slipped, cursing, and he knew that couldn't be Heather. Heather had never used foul language. When the woman stood again, K'lem's thoughts were confirmed. As the lightning flashed right outside, lighting up the cave with it's gaudy glamour, he saw that she had dark hair and was much too short. Heather had been tall with blond hair. This obviously wasn't her.

The ale's already getting to you. Xuth crooned from the entrance, voice patient and melancholy, but his words were just the opposite. She's dead, has been for three turns, and you know it. Jays, man, move on already. I have... The big blue didn't bother to shield his words from the newcomer's mind. He felt that she should know some of what was happening before stepping into a muddy situation. The dragon had been so lost in thought that, at first, he'd hardly noticed her pass by him.

"Must you be so harsh? You weren't as close to that sharding Bellezath of yours as I was to..." The bluerider responded aloud, but stopped himself, watching with a mix of amusement and annoyance as the woman righted herself and came over, apologizing profusely. Her hair was soaked like his own and hanging in front of her captivating eyes, which he guitily glanced away from. "No, it is I who should be saying sorry for the dragon. Xuth can be a little overbearing at times." He knew he wasn't thinking very clearly, but he really didn't mind the idea of having a bit of human company on this sad, rainy day.

K'lem took a draught of the ale then let his hand and the wine skin rest on one upright knee while the other leg lay sprawled off to the side. He smiled absently, not comepletely sure what would prompt a smile from him in his condition, and sighed again. He then patted the ground next to him with his free hand. "No, really, it's fine. Come and join me if you want." Shrugging, he drank a bit more of the ale. "I can't garuntee that I'll stay sober for long, but feel free to sit with me. Call me K'lem." His tongue felt loose from the alcohol, but he didn't mind. If she didn't like him when he was drunk, then she could leave. Not much mattered to the bluerider at the moment, except for the alcohol, the wall behind him, and now this pretty woman who had intruded upon his little self-pity party.

Try to stay in your right mind, K'lem. Xuth's eyes whirled a nervous yellow in the dark, luminous as fresh glows.

"Oh, do shut up." The rider gripped the wine skin tightly, his knuckles turning white, and debated throwing it at Xuth's sharding face, but stopped himself. He was being irrational and he knew it. Xuth was just trying to help. Maybe it really was time to try to move on? K'lem mulled over the subject in his ale-drowned mind and slowly came to the conflusion that the damn dragon could possibly be right. If he could find someone else that he could love as he had loved Heather... Perhaps it would honor her memory instead of tarnishing it? But, K'lem didn't think that would happen any time soon, if at all.

((Sorry for any typos I may have missed or any incoherentness. It's almost 4am and I'm freaking beat.))

Darya cast a sidelong glance at the blue waiting outside. Why had he allowed her to hear? Certainly his rider’s situation was a private one. Being in the memorial cave she only assumed that he was here because of someone he missed dearly that could no longer be there…but she felt like her intrusion was terribly rude. Of course the bluerider seemed to be too steeped in alcohol to really find her too bothersome. How was she supposed to talk to him? Her nerves were already getting to her. She never really was very good at holding a conversation, let alone comforting someone who was obviously distraught.

“Um…,” she stammered, “It’s perfectly all right. There’s no need to apologize. I know how dragon’s can be,” she said, grinning nervously and trying to brush the damp strands of hair from her face. She was about to comment on how her own seemed to think she needed someone to talk for her, but then she realized how thankful she was for it sometimes. Like now. Boy did she feel awkward…intruding on this man’s quiet and space. She was surprised he didn’t get up and chase her out. But then he offered for her to stay.

“Oh no I shouldn’t--,” she began and put her weight back on both feet. She winced painfully, “On second thought…maybe I could for a little while,” she said quietly as the pattering of rain on the ground outside grew in intensity. There was no way she was getting back to her weyr in that mess, not to mention the sharp pain that shot up her leg from her ankle every time she put weight on it. She knew she should probably be getting to the infirmary, if nothing else just to get a wrap to brace it, but going outside again wasn’t really an option she wanted to consider. Besides it was rather warm in the memorial cave and in the autumn rain outside it was frigid.

She went forward carefully, lengthening her stride to hide the limp she was sure she had now. “It’s nice to meet you K’lem,” she said as she sat down next to him. “I am Darya, of green Aryveth,” she introduced the long overused introduction she’d learned to use since her days as a weyrling at Ista. She couldn’t help but smirk a little at the tone he took with his dragon when he spoke. How many times had she taken the same tone of voice with her own dragon? She shivered slightly, her wet clothing clinging to her in uncomfortable ways. If she stayed there long enough and dried off she’d be fine…but it was sharding cold.

She couldn’t imagine who it was he was missing and she didn’t want to make it worse by talking about her own recent loss. She hadn’t seen or heard from Az’uka or Nilzuth in months…but Darya guessed that was just the life of a greenrider…one never really found anyone quite permanent. At least most queenriders kept the same weyrmate for a few Turns…seemed like greenriders were always getting someone new. Sad because deep down Darya knew she wanted just one…just one that would be there and stay there. She’d never have to go into another mating flight in fear of who she’d wake up with the next morning.

You should ask him who he is missing, Aryveth told her sleepily, still there to try and get her to speak up as always. That’s his business. If he wants to tell me he can. If not I am not going to bother him. She retorted, then glanced at K’lem again. Concern crossed over her expression…whoever it had been, the dragon said it had been three Turns…to hold on that long must have been awful.

“She must have been one heck of a girl,” Darya said, smiling warmly, trying to keep silence from smothering them. Inwardly she cursed herself…she was so terrible at conversation. She could remember Az’uka’s reactions to when Aerten’s only other gold queen and her rider passed, and the bronze Wiketh and his rider…how hard he had taken that, she could only imagine what K’lem was going through. She wanted to help…but how could she? What could she do? She meant nothing to this bluerider, she’d never even met him before.

The limp that Darya tried to hide did not escape K'lem's watchful gaze, even in his drunken state. If she didn't want him to know about it, then he would pretend he never saw it... for now. Something had to be done soon enough, or it would only get worse. Maybe she had sprained her ankle? That would could be problematic. How could she do her duties with a sprain like that? Or walk, even? The bluerider's loosened thoughts flew back and forth in his mind, almost to the point of confusion. He couldn't understand why he was feeling protective over this woman. In his subconcious he absently mulled over the thought of how he had been able to do nothing for his weyrmate when she'd been hit by thread. All he had to show for his efforts was a scar on his left shoulder. Maybe he could do something for Darya, here and now? If it did only a little good, it would be worth it.

Then she asked of Heather, and it instantly brought him back to his senses. Get a grip! He scolded himself and glared at the wineskin in his hand. He wasn't thinking clearly and wanted to blame... something. "Here, take this from me." K'lem shoved it almost angrily into the greenrider's hands as she sat next to him, and then sighed once again, laying his head back against the stone. It's coolness soothed him, but not at much as a warm, female body would at the moment. The lust still lingered in his system from the Flight he and Xuth had just come from, and he'd yet to wear it off on his own. But, the bluerider managed to keep his hands to himself as he only laughed slightly. "Yeah, she was a hell of a girl." He closed his eyes for a moment, thinking to himself, then opened them and looked over at Darya. "But she's dead now, so..." His eyes widened suddenly at those words, surprised that they had come from his own lips.

She's dead. She's dead. Heather is dead. There. He had admitted it. Finally. It had been spoken and he couldn't pull it back into his mouth. K'lem groaned and covered his face with his hands, hanging his head. His lips were twisted in a snarl. He was so mad at himself! Why? Why couldn't he just let her spirit rest?! Maybe he could, though, with help. He had Xuth... and Luvo... and some of his other friends that he wasn't especially close with. He ground his teeth together in a response to the mix of determination to move past what had happened and irritarion over the predicament he'd placed himself in. He was furiously close to tears. But, Darya was still here and he was probably making himself look like a total psychotic mess in front of her, so he took a breath and quickly regained his composure. His expression was calm now as he brought his hands away from his face. "I'm sorry... I know I'm not the only one accustomed to death." K'lem smiled truely and sincerely for the first time that day when he felt a wave of triumph from Xuth. It was a step in the right direction, at least.

K'lem touched the greenrider's arm lightly, murmuring, "If I ever get like that again, please feel free to beat my skull in with that wine skin." He prodded the skin and gave her a serious look before pulling back. She seemed sort of shy and very polite; the kind of girl that he could imagine being a quiet healer of some sort of reserved musician. She was too hesitant with her words and company, though. Just having someone to be with him at this time was reassuring in any case. The bluerider's world seemed so much brighter now for some reason, and it wasn't just the lightning shooting reflections off the water on the ground of Memorial Cave. "So, Darya, about that ankle of yours..." He moved over to her leg and tentitively reached out, but looked to her for permission first. "May I? That slip might have messed it up pretty bad." He may have been wallowing in sorrow at the time, but he was as observant as ever. K'lem even thought he saw Darya shiver a bit from the cold, but it might have been the ale making his vision blurry.

She took the wineskin in surprise. For a second she caught the tinge of slight anger in his voice, but it passed, leaving only the lingering taint of frustration instead. It was obvious he was very broken up about something…she only wished she could help. Of course that was natural for her…she was through and through a healer. Granted, her talents had been concentrated more so lately on healing the worst of hurts that could befall a dragon’s wing. It wasn’t as if she’d forgotten how to help heal the wounds, both mental and physical, that happened to people. When he openly admitted that she was dead and gone, Darya felt her heart go out to him. She couldn’t really relate in terms of loss save for the most recent one with her previous weyrmate, but none of hers had been taken by Thread or killed by any other reason…they’d just left. She made it an effort not to get too close to anyone. Being a healer she was no stranger to how quickly someone could just be there and then…gone.

She listened to him for a moment more, then spoke, for once able to say something prompted by her own thoughts instead of that of her dragon, “No need to apologize K’lem,” she said gently, eyes on the wineskin. She was afraid to look him in the eyes…as truly seeing the pain in them would cause her to face her own, “Just because one is accustomed to death doesn’t mean they have to act like it doesn’t bother them.” She sighed…she’d seen so many die. So many that had fallen because of the menace they fought in the skies every time it fell. Darya had only been lucky herself because Aryveth was an expert flier and one of the smaller dragons gifted with far more agility and maneuverability. But even though Darya was a dragonrider…she was still a healer, and healers always dealt with the aftermath. Even now she had the tendency to have nightmares about screaming dragons and their injured riders.

Absentmindedly, she touched her right arm, remembering the threadscar beneath the sleeve…her first bad score, the one she’d gotten during her first fall at Crescent Weyr. She was no better than anyone else and a lethal slip-up was just as likely to happen to her as it was to anyone else. K’lem brought her out of her somber reverie with a slight touch on her arm and she looked at him. A grin pulled at the corners of her mouth as he mentioned beating him with the wineskin, “Now why would I do that? I’m a healer, I’m supposed to fix people not break them,” she snickered. For once in her life, she felt comfortable talking to someone…this bluerider had to be the easiest person she’d ever spoken to. Even though he was dealing with some loss, he still had the ability to be humorous and he didn’t intimidate her the way other people always seemed to. How could she be a healer with people problems? It was a question she’d always asked herself and Aryveth had frequently answered. Healing was a job, a passion. When she closed herself off to the emotion, those she healed became just as faceless as the Thread her dragon seared from the sky.

When K’lem mentioned her ankle she found herself a little surprised. Way to go with subtlety there Darya. she thought to herself. “Um…sure,” she said nervously. “But really I’m sure I’m fine…I only twisted it when I slipped, it’ll be fine…I just need to get a brace for it or something,” she said, denying the fact that it hurt more than just a twist. “I’m sure once I get some rest it’ll be just as good as new.”

Stop being a healer for once and let someone else help you Rya, Aryveth grumbled to her. Sometimes her rider could be such a wherry-brain. I don’t see you down here to fly me back to the weyr so shut your face. Darya retorted lightly. I will be down when the rain stops. You just oiled my hide yesterday.

"Unlike you," K'lem ran his fingers over Darya's ankle lightly, feeling the swelling while being careful to avoid causing her any extra pain. "I'm obviously not a healer, but I can see that you do need to get this wrapped up when you get back... I think..." He smiled sheepishly and ran his hand through his hair. "I really don't know what I'm talking about. Xuth and I can fly you to the infirmary when the rain stops, though, if you want." He chuckled a little, moving back to sit next to her with his legs crossed as he spoke. "You are in luck, m'lady, because healers are my favorite people." He brushed the hair away from his neck and pulled down the collar of his shirt to reveal some vicious threadscarring that trailed down to the cuff of his sleeve, almost to his elbow. "I would've been roasted wherry without you healers." He nodded back to the mouth of the cave where the rain fell at a steady pace on the blue's back. "Xuth, too."

K'lem was feeling a little better now that he had some company, but he just couldn't push away the guilt that still lingered. "Sometimes I wish that the sharding thread had taken me so I could be with Heather and X'der." He murmured, growing solemn once again.

She doesn't know who they are... Xuth reminded helpfully, listening in. He'd been very happy when it had seemed that his rider had started to get over her, but the bluerider was falling back into the abyss of memories and outdated feeings.

Oh, right... K'lem's mindvoice was void of emotion again. He didn't really want to tell her about it. She probably didn't even want to know, let alone care.

But it will make you feel better to talk to someone besides me about it, wherrybrain. Don't argue, or I won't stop pestering you about it for the rest of the night. The big blue snorted, shaking the water from his wings. If K'lem could only get it off his chest, Xuth was sure that he could move on.

Fine then, if you're so adamant about it... K'lem shrugged and turned his head to Darya, sighing. "Heather was my weyrmate and X'der was my best friend." He began to explain quietly, just loud enough to be heard over the echoing pitter patter of the falling droplets. "Heather's green, Bellezath, was hit by thread three turns ago, and X'der and his bronze Amoth tried to save them from crash landing but..." He took a breath to calm his nerves. K'lem wasn't used to speaking of this out loud, and certainly not to a stranger. "Their wings go tangled and they both ended up going between. There was... nothing I could do. My wing was far away and it all happened so fast. I saw it through the dragons' eyes, though." He felt those cursed tears welling at the corners of his dark eyes again, but continued. "You see, Heather and I had been fiercely in love, and when she... died..." Saying it was a tiny bit easier now. "I had vowed to never take a weyrmate again. But, only a candlemark ago, Xuth rose after a crimson he had his eye on, and I thought that her rider might have been the one to help me finally get over Heather..." He frowned and angrily wiped at his eyes. "It was a mistake. I miss read her signals and... she already had someone. She didn't want me; never did." Grinding his teeth together in frustration, he added almost inaudible. "No one does, except my damn dragon."

That's it... You're doing good, K'lem. Please get it all out. I feel like we're not bonded as closely when you're like this.

Don't give me that shaffit. K'lem groaned and fell forward onto the stone floor, arms covering his head. "I'm sorry... I'm not normally like this. You probably don't want to hear it either, Darya." His muffled voice sounded vaugly as if it had been run over a washboard.

Do stop your hissing and moaning. It's embarassing... Xuth grumbled from outside where the rain was lightening up a little bit. While letting it all out was a good thing, he though his rider was being just a tad overdramatic.

Shut up, you vain old brute. K'lem righted himself with a huff. He wasn't really feeling any better yet. But Xuth had said it, and he was usually a pretty good counselor, so he might still be correct about this.

"Enough of my sorrows..." The bluerider looked back to Darya, almost ashamed that he'd comepletely lost composure it in front of her. He knew he was being petty and idiotic and selfcentered, but he just couldn't force himself to act any other way right now.

“I’d be grateful of the help,” she smiled. “Since my dragon is too lazy to leave her couch.” Darya rolled her eyes. She blushed a little at his comment about healers, “I started out as a healer for people, but since I Impressed my Aryveth so many turns ago I’ve concentrated more on healing dragons…wing injuries specifically. I just hate to see good strong dragons grounded because of torn wingsails, its sad…,” she said, her mind going back to the few she’d seen. Some had recovered their wings, others had been grounded for life…some hurt so badly by the loss that they and their rider took that one last jump between because they couldn’t live with the shame.

Darya listened intently as he spoke, her gaze tracing over the names carved into the wall of the cave. The more he spoke the more her heart softened for him. That must have been awful. To lose someone you cared about that much, and your best friend all at once. It was no wonder some riders would have found it a mercy if Thread had taken them too. Not to mention the disappointment that followed a failed flight. She grimaced slightly. She’d never know exactly what it was like to lose a mating flight, but she could only imagine it had to be hard. She spent days dreading Aryveth’s flights because of where she’d end up and she’d gotten a short reprieve from that worry, but the surety was gone. But what could she tell him? She couldn’t relate…what if she tried to comfort him and he just thought she was saying it out of obligation?

Stop worrying so much. Someone telling him it’s okay may be all he needs, you don’t know, Aryveth told her, a soft croon in her voice. She sent a flood of confidence to her uncertain rider and Darya found herself speaking what she felt she needed to say without thinking about it.

“You should never wish Thread had taken you too. Think of how many lives you and your dragon have saved since then. Sure, you wouldn’t know for sure, but that’s because you were there and not gone,” she said. “I’m sure you’ve probably heard this before…and I’m sorry to say it again if you have, but I’m sure neither Heather nor X’der would want you to be in so much pain over their loss. I think they’d probably want you to be happy…,” she wanted to slap herself silly. It sounded so much better before she’d said it. Like he hasn’t heard that one before dimglow. She thought. You’re probably not helping…you should probably just leave the poor man alone.

“I’m…very sorry about the flight. I won’t ever know how much it hurts and I’m sorry I can’t relate and tell you something that can help…but there will be others,” she smiled…for whatever reason she couldn’t tell. “There are plenty of other riders out there that will like you. I mean you seem decent enough to me. You can’t help that there was someone else K’lem…it happens sometimes,” she said softly…she’d had her own experiences with that.

“Speak as much as you need. Even if it’s not how you really are, everybody needs to just let loose sometimes,” she told him, her sympathy going out to him. Suddenly, the sound of leathery wings reached her ears and she turned her head to look outside. The rain had lightened to a mist and a smaller, deep emerald dragon had landed near the form of Xuth. Aryveth folded her wings against her spine and huffed, blinking laziness from her eyes. She turned her head to the blue and warbled a greeting.

Hello there, I am Aryveth. You’ve met my rider. She introduced herself then peered into the darker cave. Rain’s let up. I’m here to take you to the infirmary and to the weyr after you’ve been looked at. I know they offered…and they are perfectly welcome to tag along. I’m just not giving you any more of a reason to call me lazy. The green rumbled softly and then reached out to the bluerider near hers. She shielded her thoughts from Darya as she spoke. All will be well blue rider…you will see. It won’t last forever. And thank you for speaking with my rider, and for your concern with her injury. Very few give her shyness the benefit of the doubt.

“Ah ha ha…” K’lem threw his head back with a short laugh, almost cracking his head against the wall. “That’s what Xuth always says. You’re both right, you know.” He suddenly became serious and closed his eyes tightly again. “I don’t have a right to "let loose" on you, Darya. I don’t even know you. It’s very rude of me to lay my burdens on you.” He reached over without opening his eyes and layed a hand on her shoulder. The lust left over the Flight had completely vacated his body by now. “Just leave me be. I’ll get over it soon enough.” I hope. “I appreciate your attempt at trying to make me feel like a human being again, though.”

K’lem blinked when he heard a dragon landing outside. The rain had almost totally let up by now and Xuth’s relief was tangible. Any longer in the wetness and it would ruin the riding straps, and these ones fit the best yet, Xuth thought. “Well, it’s time to get you to the infirmary.” K’lem smiled, more to just make Darya stop worrying and stood up, than from actually being happy. It was unhealthy to feel sorry about someone like she was for him, someone she probably didn’t honestly care about. ...How could she, really? Darya barely knew him either.

With a slight grunt, K'lem slid his arms under the greenrider's legs and back and lifted her up on strong arms. He may have been weak in the emotions, but was still as buff as ever. Walking her swiftly over to the cave mouth, he stood at the edge where the rain still dripped over the rim. "Dear green, here is your rider." He nodded in acknowledgment at her words as they echoed in his mind. She didn't seem shy at all. "I'm sorry, I won't let you walk. It goes against my better conscience." K'lem told Darya and walked out towards Aryveth. He truely did feel grateful towards her after all, it seemed.

You should know that your rider has helped mine a great deal. Xuth turned around to gazed through the drizzle at the green. She was pretty, Xuth thought, but he was too tired to bother to show it much, yet. She has opened his eyes, whether he realizes it or not. He moved up onto his paws and followed his rider as he carried the green's rider. My name is Xuth, dear Aryveth. He bowed low on his front claws and purred a welcome. Do you think Darya would want us to come with her to the infirmary? Xuth didn't think it would be a good idea for K'lem to be alone just yet. The mentally distressed bluerider needed to eat, be around people, and get his spirits up before being by himself again. Xuth knew how his rider was. He would just go into his Weyr if allowed and sulk until he had to leave for duty of some sort.

((No no no. THAT was fail. Sorry, haven't had much time lately with my friend visiting from Kentucky. XP))

“You have every right to,” she told him. “And you did that on your own, I just listen,” she shrugged and grinned. She really didn’t mind having someone to listen to. She’d been staying in her weyr most of her free time lately now that she had no reason to leave. She yelped suddenly as she felt herself being lifted off the ground. “You really don’t need to do that, I can--,”

Hush and let him help you dimglow. Healers make awful patients, Aryveth snorted. It will give him something to do to keep his mind off of whatever is bothering him.

I hate being the damsel in distress, Darya retorted, but her dragon replied before she had a chance to let the thought bother her.

Don’t argue with me. You shouldn’t walk on it anyway, she said, flaring her wings for emphasis as the bluerider carried her rider outside. Aryveth listened to Xuth and she gave a very humanlike bob of her head. It is very nice to meet you Xuth. You are a very odd shade of blue, I like it, it gives you character. The green crooned.

Stop flirting. I can’t wait until someone else catches you…when you had Nilzuth you stopped flirting with everyone. Darya said, glaring at her dragon.

I am not flirting I am complimenting him on his color. It’s not often you see a blue with his color. She retorted and looked back at Xuth. I am sure she would not mind the company. She has nothing better to do today regardless of what she might tell you. The green leaned down so that K’lem could deposit her rider on her back. She shielded her thoughts from everyone but Xuth, Besides, I think Darya needs a friend, I believe she might be able to be friends with K’lem.
