((cause I need more places to post. Dun get too mad at me Admins. Please *big baby draggie eyes*))

Drudge girls giggled as they stirred a large pot over the deep fire pit that had been dug. It was getting warmer, the earth beneath their feet was beginning to dry, and even their thick tunics were not quite as damn. Today was a good day. The head cook had burst in with plenty of fresh supplies from riders who had gone off and gotten new provisions for them too cook a feast. The appearance of the sun had boosted everyones moral and all were taking advantage of this new and contagious good mood. "Do you think that maybe the dragon riders will really start to clear out space for us again?" One girl said to the other, "Oh! I do! After all, they know that they really need all us drudges to help them get stuff done. Otherwise who would cook for them? Its not like any of them can really do it!" Another fit of laughter burst from their mouths. The head kitchen lady shot them a mock disapproving grin, "now now dears. I dont see any thread scores on yer hides." It was a cold truth. Dragon riders might not know how to cook all that well, but they did keep everyone else's hides free of thread score, or worse.
"Our apologies Ma'am."
"How's that soup coming anyway?" She asked wandering over and whiping her hands on her apron. She took a large wooden ladle from a pocket on the apron and dipped it into the soup. She blew on the hot liquid seeing that it was in fact thickening up. She brought it to her lips and made a HUGE showing of tasting it and rolling the flavor around on her tongue. Looking to the girls she smiled, "Yes, I think that will do. Turn the fire to a lower burn and we will start on getting this spiced wherry cut and simmering. It will be good not to have to eat just soup to warm our bones anymore. Start the boys on another fire pit. I want a spit on this one. Those lazy hounds can put their bones to work again!"
One girl darted off and the other tended to the fire....

Elsewhere a healer also wiped his hands. This time of numbweed. He hadn just gotten done changing the bandages on a fellows feet who had spent too much time in the waters and with out dry shoes or socks. The skin on his feet had all but rubbed off over the course of the days of the continual rain and the ever rising waters in the gorge that had once been their home. The healer had almost become more of a bitter man over that time but refused to give in. he knew that all places had their rough times and this was just one of Aertens. Its not as though they had not seen disaster before. Each dargons hide that had been harmed had been a small disaster in its own way. Every child who had scrapped their knee for the first time was a small tragedy. But dragons flew again and children learned how to get back up and try to run again. It was all a part of life. Now that the sun was shining he had the apprentice healers move all of the invalid out into the sun. Sun would be good for everyones moods and the fresh air would be a good change from the damn musty air of the tents that they had all been moved into since the waters first started to rise. "Yes. I think a new start will be good. OH.... Is that spiced Wherry I smell?"

You're in a chipper mood. Nyagnith commented, amused as her rider hummed to herself. "Of course!! There's a party going on!!" Sayart commented back, grinning. She was dressed in a long skirt and a shirt that was cut so her belly was exposed. "Come, let us have fun!" Sayart exclaimed to her dragon. "I smell food being prepared!"

**Will had my other characters a little later.
