Abandoned Hideout

[Gatekeeper]

This luxurious yet abandoned apartment has a faint scent of decay yet is otherwise nicer than anything you people are used to.

[Dante]

::They flame in, amidst the fallen grandeur of a luxury apartment neglected, and he wrinkles his nose at the smell of it::

"At least we ain't staying here."

::A fire erupts in the fireplace, magically sustained, to heat the room and dispel the damp from the air::

"I guess we should go get the n00bles."

[Veronica]

"I'll stay here and make sure it's totally safe. Saves you the effort."

[Dante]

"Make sure it is save though. I'll literally be a minute."

::He scans the room a final time and flames out to the beach::

[Dante]

::Dante and the kids flame in::

"Don't break anything. I want my deposit back."

::He inclines an eyebrow and points between his eyes and each of theirs before disappearing again to the beach::

[Veronica]

"Yeah, just stay there. Don't touch anything."

::Veronica looks at the kids, not really knowing how to speak to them now that she's not got anything to teach them. They're just back to being weird creatures that she can't understand, despite speaking the same language. However, Veronica's more likely to feel intense and uncomfortable rather than awkward as such simply because that's how she always feels, so she gets on with things.::

(This place is horrible. It's such a mess. I can't stay here if it's going to keep being a mess.)

::She looks at the fireplace for a while, then wanders off in search of some cleaning products. Entering the kitchen, Veronica flicks the light switch a few times. Tic tic tic tic tic... tic... tic. She manages to find some bleach and an old shirt, which she bundles up really tight so it protects her hand from getting in any of the industrial stuff. And, since she's in the kitchen, she goes into scrubbing overdrive because the dust in this place!::

[Danielle]

::Danielle had watched Veronica leave and frowned when she sees the light from the doorway into the kitchen going on and off.::

(Sure likes to... test bulbs...)

::Pushing it away, she looks to the others.::

"This place seems cool."

[Zack]

"So a demon lives here?"

::Zack wanders around, his head held high as he examines the far reaches of the ceiling.::

"Lived. Huh. I always thought they lived in caves. Or... just didn't have homes."

[Hayley]

"This place? Is so totally grody."

[Danielle]

"It's just dust. A little mould."

::Danielle watches Hayley for a moment before addressing Zack's musings.::

"Anyway, it might not have been one of the gross bumpy ugly guys you're thinking of. It could've been someone with class. They come in all shapes, y'know? Could've been a succubus or a siren, they're totally different kinds of demon."

[Zoe]

::Zoe feels that it's okay to go back to her dislike of Hayley. She rolls her eyes and wanders away from her to poke around at things too.::

(I wonder if the demon left anything cool.)

[Zack]

(Succubus...)

"Succubus?"

::Zack's ears perk up.::

"Isn't that a..."

[Danielle]

::Danielle smiles good naturedly.::

"A sex demon, yes Zack."

(He is such a boy.)

[Zoe]

"Zack's totally fell for one of those before. I had to rescue him."

::Zoe smirks as she gazes in their direction.::

[Gabriel]

::The tips of Gabriel's ears go pink at what Dani's just said.::

"How do you know about this kind of thing?"

[Veronica]

::In the kitchen, Veronica half listens to their chat while she scrubs. She's made light work of the surfaces and is now on her knees doing the floor. Entirely by hand.::

[Zack]

"Shut up, doofus."

::Zack punches Zoe's arm, hard.::

[Danielle]

::Danielle giggles at the twins, then looks at Gabriel.::

"I just paid attention in class."

::Her eyes twinkle. She feels flattered.::

[Zoe]

"OW!"

::Zoe tries to kill her brother. Well, the sibling equivalent of kill.::

[Zack]

::Zack manages to git Zoe into a headlock and noogies her.::

"Ohhh you made a big mistake doing that, sis!"
